The correlative objective function is presented based on the expression to describe the difference between actual and scheduled spatial response of the array. A new arithmetic is proposed to obtain the frequency invariant weight vectors by applying the steepest-descent algorithm. Computer simulations for uniform linear array and circular array have verified that the new method has high convergence precision and can be applied to arbitrary array without restriction on element patterns.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134547246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method stems form Zhang zhengyou's planer method. Firstly, we design a move path to replace the gridiron pattern which is invisible in the infrared ray environment. Then we use the C.M.M to control a visible ball in the infrared ray environment to move along the designed path, forming a trajectory of the gridiron pattern. Synchronously, implement the image acquisition, ball centre calculation and spatial coordinates registration with the path. The centre of the ball in the image is detected by the Hough transform. The results are arranged to substitute the grid corners' coordinates. Finally we can obtain the camera intrinsic and extrinsic parameters with Zhang Zhengyou's calibration toolbox.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127733676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of high lift-drag ratio and maneuverability, the vehicle, once is used in reentering purpose, a complicated trajectory will be produced and cause big challenges for tracking facilities. Although TDRS has more coverage capability than ground stations, unlike tracking stations fixed on the ground, when its antenna tracks target, the platform it located on will do some attitude maneuver to balance the effects caused by the antenna's moving. This will lead some errors in tracking the target and should be taken into account when processing the data. To solve these problems, a fusion strategy of improved IMM (Interacting Multiple Model) with different kinematics and measurement models is designed in this paper, which helps to process the trajectory data and estimate aerodynamic parameters of the vehicle. In the dynamic model, both trajectory parameters and aerodynamics parameters are calculated, the measurement models are either TDRS or ground tracking stations. Meanwhile, in the adaptive IMM algorithm, an adaptive method for calculating transition probabilities of time-varying transition model is designed. Also the Iterated Sigma Point Kalman Filter (ISPKF) is used helping make the system more robust and perform better. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs well in tracking high lift-drag ration re-entering vehicle and estimating the aerodynamics parameters as well.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129276775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, connected components (CCs) are segmented locally by text probability map. Then, a novelty hierarchical architecture consisting of two MLP classifiers in tandem is utilized to analysis the CCs. In this hierarchical setup, the first stage MLP classifier is trained using unary property features. The second stage MLP classifier is trained for CCs pairs including both posterior probabilities estimated by first stage and relationship features. Finally, candidate text CCs are grouping into words. Experimental results evaluated on the public dataset show that our approach yields better performance compared with state-of-the-art methods.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126833979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In robot navigation, the straight navigation is often needed, which requires computation of the heading angle of the robot. In this study, we found that the relative heading direction of the robot to the surrounding facility buildings can be computed using the vanishing points of parallel lines of the buildings. The inter-stair parallel lines of facility buildings are extracted and the vanishing points are computed. As the vanishing points are computed in far away, the heading direction of the robot is close to normal angle to the facility building. The proposed vanishing point method is a novel robot orientation computing method and is proved to be time efficient and accurate via experiments. The experimental results of the proposed method are included in this paper.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122134403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CIM responds to the need of the analyst to get information about the importance of proposed changes that affect component properties and multiple basic events. Different from other basic importance measures, the proposed CIM takes into account cost issue, which can consider both structure importance and cost-efficiency importance. CIM is additive, which means the groups of basic events or parameters are the sum of the individual CIMs. We discuss the relationship between CIM and other basic importance measures, and find out that the differential importance measure (DIM) is the special case of CIM when taking certain cost function. Two examples are used to demonstrate the evaluation of CIM at both the basic event and the parameter level. And in the second example, we discuss the method for dealing with the ignored basic event.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131459677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The estimation of phase synchronization contains two major parts: the phase difference estimation and the synchronization index calculation. In recent studies of cerebral autoregulation (CA), a number of instantaneous phase difference estimation methods have been proposed to study instantaneous dynamic between arterial blood pressure (ABP) and cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFV). In this study, we took complex Morlet wavelet (CMW), the most widely used method as an example to discuss the possible limitations and propose a time-shift based method, piecewise maximum cross correlation function (PMCC) method. The analysis and the results show that PMCC avoids the trade-off between time and frequency resolution which exists in wavelet or short time Fourier transform based methods, and performs well in anti-noise. We finally discussed the limitation of PMCC.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"23 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133200500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
