The robot has advantages of good climbing obstacle capability, high terrain adaptability and stability for the self-adapting suspension and walking wheel combining the efficiency of wheels with the climbing mobility of legs. The mechanism structure and working principle were described. The kinematics model and dynamic model are presented of the folding and unfolding of the wheel and interaction between wheel and terrain respectively. A simulation in MSC.ADAMS has been carried out to verify the operation and the reality of the prototype. The simulation results show that the robot with diameter-variable wheels has good performance of climbing obstacles in the rough terrain.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129083983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The slow and normal changes in the processes often lead to false alarm since the conventional PCA algorithm is static. In this paper, we proposed a model updating approach of multivariate statistical process monitoring. By the proposed approach, the PCA model which presents the norm operation condition has been remodeled every N samples. Those remodeling data are chosen by quality information and engineer experience. Furthermore, the method of calculating the updating interval has been discussed. Finally, this model updating approach has been evaluated by a mathematic example and CSTR process simulation. The results show the effectiveness of this method.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129122895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm consists of three main steps: feature extraction, feature point tracking, and homography matrix estimation. According to the comparison with different feature points, we choose the KLT feature and track them during the consecutive images. With the correct tracked feature points, the Total Least Squares (TLS) method is used to estimate homography matrix between two consecutive images, and then the multi-view constraint is used to refine the result and reduce the accumulative error in the image sequence. This method is robust and with less iteration times. Experiments on different image sequences indicate that our method has satisfactory image registration results with the average time 0.3s.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114701680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is becoming more significant as seniors are getting popular who often need clinical cardiovascular attention. We propose a new approach to ECG acquisition with the capability of recording, analyzing, and monitoring ECG and P-QRS-T waveform with the diagnostic quality during various activity states from resting to strenuous exercises without missing ECG signals. The approach is based on the digital technologies of pure digital medical amplifier (PDMA) featuring great input signal dynamic range (ISDR) and high immunity to various noises, as well as extensive use of digital filtering and parallel processing. The device can monitor ECG traces with up-to-moment P-QRS-T waveform measurements. It can be used as an all-in-one ECG device for diagnostic, monitoring, ambulatory, and stress testing purposes, and so has many new potential applications.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114843823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To get robust local features in infrared face, local binary pattern representation is applied to our method, instead of holistic feature extraction method. The main drawback of LBP patterns representation is that the dimension of LBP pattern features is relatively high. Feature selection algorithm based on multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) is proposed to analyze and discard patterns that are not relevant to the recognition task. The experimental results demonstrate the infrared face recognition method based on LBP+MOGA proposed outperforms the traditional methods based on LBP or PCA+LDA.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126390664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, the greatest hazards of diabetes are constituted by its complications such as hypertension and cardiovascular problems. As the treatment to diabetes usually acquires for quite a long time, the daily healthcare of those patients is a costly work. In this paper, a development of Diabetics-oriented Tele-medical Information System (DTMIS) is introduced. This DTMIS provides users with comprehensive, convenient and timely health monitoring and medical service. DTMIS can realize the real-time telemedicine monitoring of a diabetic's physiological parameters. The system is a complex structure combining the use of wearable sensing shirt, Bluetooth technology and GSM networking. And we have implemented a physiological signal preprocessing method that can detect abnormal data and provides preliminary suggestions to patients here. In the end, it can be concluded that the implementation of this platform system will provide a complete health condition monitoring and healthcare service.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128059403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this method, first, the edge factor of detect window is used in the coarse detection, and then HOG combined with linear SVM (HOG/linSVM) is used in fine detection. The HOG/linSVM is one of the most popular video based pedestrian detection methods, which has advantage in high resolution images but low processing speed. To overcome this problem, a simple and run fast algorithm is developed—the edge factor, which is the normalized edge number. The edge factor can distinguish pedestrians from some uniform background. Edge factor is used in coarse detection to filter out some edgeless sub-windows; the fine detection which HOG/linSVM is used to do final detection on windows that has passed coarse detection. Owing to some sub-window has be eliminated by the coarse detection, the processing time of fine detection can be shortened greatly and so that the whole detection speed is improved. In addition, preprocessing such as image zooming, extract region of interest have be used for further acceleration of the detection process. Experiments show that our method has good performance and greatly improved the detection speed especially in videos of simple environment.","PeriodicalId":299418,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130934936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
