Presentation of their characteristics to the students will be shown in this article. Characteristics could be shown in three different ways. First way as convenient experiment with standard instruments and mutual presentation of achieved results. Second, as building model in mathematical modeling software and critical review of corresponding results. And third as fully automated experiment with programmable logic controller for control and data acquisition and visualization software for automated results presentation. All three ways of presentation of these characteristics to the students will be critically reviewed.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134197864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two methods of collecting features that describe diver gestures are described and two types of HMMs are investigated: one based on discrete outputs variable distribution and the other based on mixture of Gaussians outputs variable distribution. For 8 basic diver gestures, 800 data samples were collected and the results were analyzed for the purpose of determining the most appropriate i) feature vector describing diver gestures, ii) HMM parameters (number of states and mixture components), and iii) type of the hidden Markov model. Finally, the quality of performance for recognition of each gesture is evaluated and analyzed, and necessary steps for improving the overall system are reported.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131692219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this work is to develop general Users' Information Security Awareness Questionnaire (UISAQ). Development consists of selecting suitable items for which is assumed that measure the level of security awareness and testing impact of each item in measurement. Questionnaire consisted of 4 parts with total of 37 items. Results showed that first part of questionnaire, that examine the common user's risk behavior, should consist of 17 items (3 items had low factor loadings) separate in 3 subscales. Second part of questionnaire, which consisted of 6 items that measured the level of user's information security, had high internal consistency (k=6, α=0.89) and a satisfactory factor loadings. Third part of questionnaire, which consisted of 5 items that measured the level of user's beliefs about information security, should consist of 3 items (2 items significantly disrupted internal consistency) with high factor loadings and good internal consistency (α=0.76). Descriptive statistics showed that all the questions (n=6) in the fourth part of the questionnaire, which had examined the password quality and security, had a full range of answers and that normal distribution wasn't significantly violated. Although developed questionnaire requires more work and validation, first results showed that UISAQ has potential to become a good and reliable measure of users' security awareness in the future.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"483 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132162455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effect is obtained by reducing the operations that require counter increases and branch jumps at the end of the loops. This paper analyzes the impact of loop unrolling on various processor types and memory patterns. The experiments show a high correlation between the cache and the problem size. The loop unrolling results with a higher speedup for the execution of a smaller size problem, while it does not have impact for a problem whose size is greater than the capacity of the last level cache size, due to the huge number of cache misses. Another important result is that the loop unrolling achieves greater speedup on Intel, rather than AMD CPU. In this paper we analyze and discuss the various behaviors of loop unrolling.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124329293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is considered as a technology that brings significant contribution in different scientific areas, as well as medicine and industry, besides the development of information and communication technology itself. This paper gives an overview of recent state of the art research and technology development, appropriate architectures, design issues, upgrades and hot topic features. The analysis of recent relevant IPTV research papers and the comparison of the novelties they bring to the IPTV technology itself has led to the conclusion about the existence of three main approaches to state of the art IPTV research: IPTV Channel Control and Management, P2P IPTV systems and Technology Assisted Living. These approaches are further observed and discussed as an attempt to prove the importance of IPTV as a technology.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129214125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the fact that a lot of advancements have been made in the area of keypoint descriptors over the last years, the literature on 3D-face recognition for the most part still focuses on established descriptors, such as SIFT and SURF, and largely neglects more recent descriptors, such as the FREAK descriptor. In this paper we try to bridge this gap and assess the usefulness of the FREAK descriptor for the task for 3D face recognition. Of particular interest to us is a direct comparison of the FREAK and SIFT descriptors within a simple verification framework. To evaluate our framework with the two descriptors, we conduct 3D face recognition experiments on the challenging FRGCv2 and UMB-DB databases and show that the FREAK descriptor ensures a very competitive verification performance when compared to the SIFT descriptor, but at a fraction of the computational cost. Our results indicate that the FREAK descriptor is a viable alternative to the SIFT descriptor for the problem of 3D face verification and due to its binary nature is particularly useful for real-time-recognition systems and verification techniques for low-resource devices such as mobile phones, tablets and alike.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128622619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although they are able to find adequate solutions in acceptable time for small problems, their execution time increases rapidly for problems with large search space and complex fitness landscape. Computational grids provide an appropriate platform for the execution of parallel genetic algorithms. However, when using multiple grid clusters for a single computational task, one has to comply with a number of technical and administrative limitations. In this paper we describe a new implementation of GA, written in C++11, which provides a mechanism for parallel execution and an extensible programming interface. Our framework utilizes MPI, ZeroMQ and the newest generic programming facilities of C++, enabling the execution of a distributed GA on multiple grid clusters. Various tests were performed on clusters from the European Grid Infrastructure, which prove the efficiency of our approach.","PeriodicalId":299409,"journal":{"name":"2014 37th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115842895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
