The tools in this research consisted of 1) an interview schedule for students regarding professional experience provision, 2) media and special hybrid event during Covid-19 pandemic, 3) evaluation forms for quality of contents and media presentation and activities, 4) a perception evaluation form, and 5) a satisfaction questionnaire for the sampling group regarding media and special hybrid event during Covid-19 pandemic. The data were collected from 30 fourth-year undergraduate students from the Department of Educational Communications and Technology who enrolled in the ETM 361 Presentation Skill II course and participated in the project to raise funds for students with financial hardship in the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology. They were chosen using purposive sampling method. The statistical methods were percentage, mean score, and standard deviation. The findings were as follows: after the professional experience provision for students,and interview them, such experience helped students gain skills in planning, problem solving, and teamwork. Therefore, the training in this course could really provide quality professional experience to students. With regards to media development and special hybrid event during Covid-19 pandemic, this research followed the ADDIE Model which consists of 5 steps as in Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The expert panels then evaluated the quality. It was found that the quality of contents was at a very good level (x = 4.77, S.D. = 0.42) and that the quality of media presentation and activities was at a very good level (x = 4.76, S.D. = 0.45). The perception and the satisfaction of the sampling group regarding the media development and special hybrid event during Covid-19 pandemic was at the highest level (x = 4.79, S.D. = 0.45), (x = 4.76, S.D. = 0.45). Therefore, the professional experience provision for students through media development and special hybrid event during Covid-19 pandemic was of good quality.","PeriodicalId":299098,"journal":{"name":"International Education Studies","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127025841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The MCT was developed to quantify a rotational and proportion construct of spatial ability and has been used extensively to assess spatial ability. This test was developed in 1938 as a paper-and-pencil test, where examinees are presented with a two-dimensional drawing of a 3D object containing a cutting plane passing through the object. The examinee must then determine the cross-sectional shape that would result from cutting along the imaginary cutting plane. This work explored three versions of this test (the original and two adapted versions), administered online, to see if there were any differences on the versions regarding student performance. Versions differed in the linework quality displayed as well as shading shown on the surfaces. \u0000 \u0000This study analyzed statics students’ scores on the three online versions of the MCT and on the original paper version of the MCT to identify which version of the test may be most optimal for administering to engineering students. Results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in students’ scores between multiple versions. Understanding which representations of the MCT items are most clear to students will provide insights for educators looking to improve and understand the spatial ability of their students.","PeriodicalId":299098,"journal":{"name":"International Education Studies","volume":"45 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131804955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Learners who practice intentional learning skills choose their learning methodologies and organize their studies in accordance with their interests, preferences, and speed. This study embarks on the following objectives: (i) To look into ways how to scaffold intentional learning experiences among the student and ritualize the intentional learner’s mindsets and best practice skills, (ii) To investigate the effects (through a reflective learning log) of intentional learning skill of student on their study habits and attitudes toward learning, and, (iii) To examine their critical reflection log while they are studying E-commerce module which is underpinned by the intentional learning paradigm and Hatton and Smith’s framework. In this qualitative study, data from 140 students in three classes of E-Commerce were required to write reflections that would be used to determine final grades using the reflective learning log. In order to support students’ purposeful learning development as they join the job market, the study’s findings strongly imply that they urgently need to strengthen their reflective writing skills while enrolled in higher education. The undergraduate must also be given the fundamental tools necessary to shape them into purposeful learners through exercises in reflective learning. The Hatton and Smith reflective framework worked well for categorizing written reflections and making the reflective learning log evaluation less subjective. This study brought to light the fact that many business students were unfamiliar with the genre of reflective writing and that this genre needed to be explicitly taught in the relevant course. Hence, to support students’ purposeful learning development as they join the job market, the study’s findings strongly imply that they urgently need to strengthen their reflective writing skills while enrolled in higher education.","PeriodicalId":299098,"journal":{"name":"International Education Studies","volume":"45 12","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114035261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Perhaps unsurprisingly, pre-service teachers commonly attest to the positive impact of international placements. What is less well understood is the impact on the learning and teaching that occurs at the university curriculum level prior to and after an international placement. An emergent aspect of this research and the focus of this paper is the impact of these experiences in terms of what they offer the university teaching and learning context. To gain a further understanding of the extent of these impacts, a set of reflective narratives from 10 pre-service teachers and seven teacher educators were gathered and analysed using inductive, thematic analysis. The findings showed that for pre-service teachers and teacher educators that context both culturally and educationally were paramount. The reflections highlighted the impact on the development of a range of general capabilities for both sets of participants. Additionally, international placement experiences increased levels of reflection for both pre-service teachers and teacher educators, which led to further understanding and refining their teacherly identity.","PeriodicalId":299098,"journal":{"name":"International Education Studies","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122244839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data of the study, which is descriptive qualitative research, were collected from the chat message of three streamers who produced the most watched Turkish programs aired on Twitch tv. The number of viewer messages analysed in the study is 32.764. The findings show that these messages are produced mostly in Turkish language, but there are also others produced in other languages. The messages are found to contain emotes, abbreviations, neologisms and random laugh expressions which are used for communicative purposes. Turkish expressions are used more in the chat broadcast whereas in the game broadcast foreign origin words are more frequently used. In addition, when the chat messages of the three streamers for the same game were examined, differences are found in the language usage of the viewers. In the use of emotes, abbreviations, neologisms and random laugh expressions, there is no difference from the language used by the streamer or in the content. The analysis shows that the use of these linguistic features changes depending on the context. When we examine the data in the context of Turkish education, it has been determined that the language used in the platform does not match the aims of the Turkish Course Curriculum (2019). In addition, it was determined that emotes, abbreviations, neologisms and random laugh expressions were an essential part of communication. It has been suggested that some language elements that young people use frequently in the digital environment and that contribute to the meaning should be included in the Turkish teaching process.","PeriodicalId":299098,"journal":{"name":"International Education Studies","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127799726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The area was selected in Sunan County, Gansu Province, China. The fieldwork method is mainly used for collecting data, together with the information from the document. The study results are as follows: The origins of the Yugu people are not single but multiple. They are a new ethnic community formed by the integration of the ancient Uighurs and the ancient Mongolian tribes. The Yugu people are currently the best-preserved ethnic group in the world’s Ancient Turkic language, due to the characteristics of the language and the geomorphological characteristics of the Yugu area, making the Yugu music unique and different from the music of the surrounding Han and other ethnic groups. The development of Yugu folk songs can be divided into five periods: 1) the Mobei period before 840 AD and the production period of Yugu ancestral folk songs; 2) from 840 AD to the beginning of the 16th century, the gradual development of the art of Hui folk songs; 3) from the beginning of the 16th century to 1953, the excavation period of traditional folk songs of the Yugu people; 4) from 1953 to 1990, the prolific period of Yugu folk song creation; 5) since 1990, the trough period of traditional Yugu folk songs and the development period of newly created songs.","PeriodicalId":299098,"journal":{"name":"International Education Studies","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115952402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
