Starting from this, fashion can be defined as a set of ephemeral wearable devices whose learnings at a conceptual, structural, material, semiotic, aesthetic, economic, social and/or environmental levels are often inspired in architecture, leaving marks in its understanding; it is an ongoing exchange through its processes of creation and realization. This paper focuses in underlining the transversal paths by which fashion and architecture establish conceptual dialogues between them, creating a mutual knowledge transfer. For this purpose, an update of the state of the matter of the topic is presented in the first place through the organization of the bibliography, together with a historical comparison that is valid for either of the two disciplines and that serves as a starting point in the approach of numerous research questions. Secondly, a classification of the texts is shown according to three categories repeated numerous times in them: architecture and clothing as information terminals; architecture and clothing as natural-artificial sheaths; and the relationships between architecture and clothing and the typology-topology binomial. Using hermeneutics research, this paper expects to continue a dialogue around both disciplines through these three understandings.","PeriodicalId":298878,"journal":{"name":"[i2]: Investigación e Innovación en Arquitectura y Territorio","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117342947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The event consisted of several colleagues making some comments and asking some questions that Jose Maria answered by showing different parts of the book and I suppose adding some more things. My comments and questions were raised more about my experiences at the School of Architecture in Alicante -- and that's what the book is about, the history of the School, from the early 80s until now, although the book is told more as a story of ideas and experiences, even adventures I would say, than a story in its more conventional sense.","PeriodicalId":298878,"journal":{"name":"[i2]: Investigación e Innovación en Arquitectura y Territorio","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125848354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La mayoria de estas intervenciones se han realizado en edificios iconicos, contando, generalmente, con importante apoyo publico o privado. En la mayoria de los casos, la restauracion de estos edificios termina en su musealizacion, lo que les aparta de su funcion habitacional original. Existe una amplia obra, mas alla de estos grandes iconos arquitectonicos, que no esta sujeta a protecciones de maximo nivel, por lo que carece de apoyos y recursos economicos para ser conservada. En estos casos, es muy importante realizar un “analisis habitacional”, es decir, un estudio historico de las transformaciones producidas en las viviendas. Identificados los elementos configuradores de la “autenticidad de diseno” del edificio, este analisis permite determinar los limites de su “variabilidad aceptable”, de forma que, manteniendo su originalidad y funcion, sea posible una serie de transformaciones sin perder su condicion habitacional. Se ha analizado la historia y reformas de los edificios de viviendas de la calle Muntaner 342-348 y Rossello 36 de Josep Lluis Sert, por reunir esas condiciones: importancia historica, encontrarse en uso en la actualidad, y carecer de proteccion patrimonial de maximo nivel. Most of these interventions have been carried out on iconic buildings, generally with significant public or private support. In most cases, the restoration of these buildings ends up in their musealization, which takes them away from their original residential function. There is a wide range of work, beyond these great architectural icons, which is not subject to the highest level of protection, so it lacks support and economic resources to be pre-served. In these cases, it is very important to carry out a \"housing analysis\", that is, a historical study of the transformations produced in the houses. Identifying the elements that configure the \"design authenticity\" of the building, this analysis allows us to determine the limits of its \"acceptable variability\", so that, while maintaining its originality and function, a series of transformations is possible without losing its housing condition. The history and reforms of the residential buildings at 342-348 Muntaner Street and 36 Rossello Street by Josep Lluis Sert have been analysed because they meet these conditions: historical importance, being in use today, and lacking the highest level of heritage protection.","PeriodicalId":298878,"journal":{"name":"[i2]: Investigación e Innovación en Arquitectura y Territorio","volume":"369 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114785741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transferencias norteamericanas entre escultura y arquitectura en el siglo XX","authors":"Pablo Llamazares Blanco, Fernando Zaparaín Hernández, Jorge Ramos Jular","doi":"10.14198/i2.2020.1.03","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14198/i2.2020.1.03","url":null,"abstract":"espanolLa publicacion en 1965 del influyente ensayo de Donald Judd titulado Specific Objects, puso de relieve que la reflexion norteamericana sobre el objeto de arte, desarrollada desde los anos veinte, habia alcanzado una identidad propia. Esa particularidad se apoyaba en el empirismo anglosajon y en el interes por la iconografia industrial e ingenieril, que posibilitaron el predominio estadounidense despues de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La potencia formal de las obras publicas y las maquinas se venia resaltando desde principios de siglo en las nuevas instituciones culturales neoyorquinas, con exposiciones y ferias que suponian un reconocible posicionamiento formal y artistico. Despues, en los cincuenta, se erigieron diversos edificios con vocacion publica, que instituyeron la estetica moderna de la caja como emblema de la postguerra. Asi se llego, en el Nueva York de los sesenta, al Expresionismo Abstracto, el Pop y el Land Art, o el Minimalismo, que siguieron enfatizando la “objetualidad” hasta realizar una transferencia de categorias espaciales arquitectonicas a otras disciplinas artisticas, de unas caracteristicas sin precedentes. Especialmente, el Minimalismo hizo que la escultura dejara de ser un mero volumen percibido desde fuera, para expandir su campo de accion al contexto expositivo e integrar el movimiento del espectador. A la vez, se activaba el espacio interior del objeto, hasta hacerlo incluso habitable. Se dejaba asi preparado el camino para el definitivo entrelazamiento de arquitectura, escultura, escenografia y medios audiovisuales, propio de las instalaciones. EnglishThe publication in 1965 of Donald Judd's influential essay entitled Specific Objects, high-lighted that the American reflection on the art object, developed since the 1920s, had reached an identity by itself. This particularity was based on Anglo-Saxon empiricism and on the interest in industrial and engineering iconography, which made the American pre-dominance possible after the Second World War. The formal power of public works and machines had been highlighted since the beginning of the century in the new cultural institutions of New York, with exhibitions and festivals that involved a recognizable formal and artistic position. Later, in the 1950s, several buildings with a public vocation were erected, which established the modern aesthetics of the box as the post-war emblem. Therefore, in the 1960s New York, Abstract Expressionism, Pop and Land Art, or Minimalism continued to emphasize “objectivity” until reaching a transfer of architectural spatial categories to other artistic disciplines, with unprecedented characteristics. Especially, Minimalism made the sculpture stop being a mere volume perceived from outside, expanding its field of action to the exhibition context and so integrate the movement of the viewer. At the same time, the interior space of the object was activated, as far as it was even habitable. Thus, the way was prepared for the definitive int","PeriodicalId":298878,"journal":{"name":"[i2]: Investigación e Innovación en Arquitectura y Territorio","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115913871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
