Loss of cases has been linked to poorly conducted investigations, corruption, and insufficient procured evidence to convict the perpetrators, leaving the blame to investigative officers. Some studies have attributed the challenges in the office of the DCI to include infrequent training, low support from senior officers, and lack of sufficient information on career pathways and plans for DCI officers. However, these studies have glaring gaps in terms of concept, context and methodology. Accordingly, this study intended to fill the gap by researching the career planning and performance of uniformed employees at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. In specific focus, the study investigated the effects of opportunity analysis, periodic review of the plan, career goals, and occupational options on the performance of uniformed employees at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. This study adopted a descriptive research design. The target population comprised a total of 943 uniformed employees working at DCI headquarters. The sample size of 272 was determined scientifically aided by Kothari formula. The study collected primary data by use of a structured questionnaire that had closed-ended questions. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 28) was used in the data analysis. The collected quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study found a positive and significant association between career planning and performance outcomes of the assessed uniformed employees at DCI. This confirms that career planning contributed to the improved employee performance at the DCI headquarters in Kenya.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"111 49","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141361120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, today that perception has changed, and its importance has become paramount. Logistics efficiency is therefore seen as a differentiating strategic element in an organization and an undeniable competitive advantage for companies. In this research, the researchers aim to highlight the components of logistics services, identify the factors affecting the performance of logistics services, and the Impact of Logistics Services on the Company’s performance. The methodology adopted for conducting this study is qualitative as the literature pertaining to the topic of study has been searched and explored to arrive at conclusions. The main findings of the study suggested that logistics service providers should invest in logistics services, adopt best logistics practices, and collaborate with their customers to improve their logistics services and meet the changing demands of customers. Overall, the effectiveness of logistics services is a complex and multifaceted topic that requires a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management principles, transportation and warehousing technologies, and customer service practices. Ongoing research in this area is critical for businesses looking to optimize their logistics operations and improve their competitiveness. Additionally, future research could explore the specific logistics services that have the greatest impact on the performance of logistics service providers.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"62 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140717431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, this study sought to examine the Perception and valuation of men and children on women’s Unpaid care work in Nabdam. The study adopted a quantitative research approach, and two hundred and sixty-nine (269) men and children were selected randomly from four communities, namely Palegu, Tindongo, Sakote, and Zeringu, in the Nabdam district of the Upper East region of Ghana. Self-prepared questionnaires, which were structured in both close-ended and open-ended format, were used to collect the data. The study then adopted a descriptive cross-sectional survey as the main research design. The study found that most men and children agreed that women should be paid for their unpaid care work. The study also found that most of the men who indicated women should not be paid for the unpaid care work they performed primarily indicated that it was their basic responsibilities as wives. Finally, the study also found out that most respondents valued the women’s unpaid care works to be $39.22 or less per month, which ironically was higher than what the women valued their unpaid care works according to earlier studies.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"130 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140777997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve its aim, the study explores how the NGP might influence future economic growth, natural gas reserves and electricity supply. Econometric techniques are employed for analysis, where real GDP is dependent variable, and the NGP is the dummy explanatory variable alongside other explanatory variables. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillip Perron Methods were used for unit root tests. The ARDL bounds tests indicated evidence of co-integration and long-run relationships among the variables. From the results, electricity supply and the NGP have a positive and significant relationship with real GDP. Consumer Price Index (CPI), a control variable, had a negative and significant relationship with real GDP in the short run. Also, the Error Correction Term is -0.2228. Consequently, the speed of adjustment for the model to return to long-run equilibrium after a shock is 22.28%. The study also found that the current two (2) percent annual growth rate of proven NG reserves is inadequate to cater for the rapid growth in the NG sector considering the positive effect of the NGP. The study, therefore, recommends that policymakers should continue to promote the NGP programme because it contributes positively to real GDP. In addition, consideration should be given to a diverse energy mix policy to reduce the over-reliance of electricity generation on NG-fired power plants, consequently, policymakers should promote policies that will lead to the diversification of the energy source for power generation.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"51 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140427085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Utilizing data from 2011-12 to 2020-21 and employing methods like ARDL and DOLS, the research explores the relationship between digital payments and variables such as digital infrastructure, net national income, and cash circulation. Findings indicate a significant impact of these factors on the volume and value of digital payments. The study highlights the government’s Digital India initiative as a critical driver but acknowledges the persistent preference for cash, emphasizing the need for ongoing infrastructure and financial literacy efforts. The results suggest that while digital payments their integration into the Indian economy requires sustained policy and educational efforts.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"8 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140434927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The integrated and collective impact of ESG practices on value creation and sustainability for all stakeholders is considered in every available investigation into ESG performance. However, to make more informed ESG investment decisions, it is necessary to comprehend how different ESG components influence value creation for organizations. The Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region mostly consists of countries that have abundant natural resources. ESG implementation in the MENA investment sector would likely be influential in boosting its economic growth. In MENA, more research needs to be performed to highlight the significance of ESG in boosting the financial development of the investment sectors. This literature review has highlighted the research papers, reports, and articles from 2019 to 2023 that depicted the ESG growth in the investment sector by emphasizing the examples of the MENA region and the international market. The literature review has shed light on the role and trend of ESG in MENA investment sectors. Further, it comprehensively discussed the ESG financial stability, ESG implementation barriers, and opportunities, ESG role in risk mitigation, and innovation and employee engagement driven by ESG. This discussion would help the MENA investors and the other organizational bodies make educated decisions before any investment.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"269 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140476004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It seems that empirical researchers in the 21st century have not heeded the caution because meeting statistical significance targets continue to take precedence over the wider discovery and publication of scientifically objective findings. Statistically insignificant results are rarely reported, in part due to publication bias towards statistically significant findings. The survey finds that although large sample sizes are widely used in empirical economics and finance research, none of the surveyed papers adopted alternative methods of hypothesis testing, such as Bayesian methods. All of them explicitly or implicitly used the classical Fisher’s hypothesis testing methods. This study finds that discussions on economic significance in nearly all papers (almost 97% of papers) only wrote one sentence or two regarding the magnitude of the effect of the regressors and a declaration that the findings were economically significant. We recommend that to enhance research credibility, other methods of hypothesis testing such as Bayesian methods, should be adopted. Journal article publishers should encourage the publication of statistically insignificant empirical findings. Economic or practical significance should be emphasized and comprehensively discussed.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"13 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139592791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This measures their ability to navigate financial difficulties and maintain sound financial well-being. Others point out that financial well-being is correlated with effective money management and the ability to handle financial challenges. This research investigated the influence of financial behavior (FB) on the financial well-being (FWB) of college students in Region XI and whether or not their financial self-efficacy (FSE) mediated such a relationship. This study utilized adapted questionnaires in the form of Likert scales and surveyed 350 college students from various universities and colleges in Region XI through Google Forms. Using tests for reliability and validity, the measurement model obtained satisfactory indices for Cronbach’s alpha, Average variance extracted (AVE), and heterotrait-monotrait ratio (HTMT). Using Smart-PLS 4.0 software, the hypothesized mediation model was assessed. It was found that significant direct effects exist in the paths between FB & FWB, FB & FSE, and FSE & FWB. Moreover, FSE was found to partially mediate the relationship between FB and FWB of college students.","PeriodicalId":298661,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Economics and Business Innovation","volume":"43 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139599096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
