Although the commission contract is well known and often met in the trade, there are still some features that deserve consideration, mainly due to the approach used by the lawmaker in order to translate this contract from the Commercial Code to the Civil Code. It is noteworthy that, while no legal obligational relationship is established between the principal and the third party, sometimes the effects of the contract concluded by the commissioner with the third party are placed directly in the patrimony of the principal, as an apparent exception to the contract’s relativity principle.","PeriodicalId":298214,"journal":{"name":"SERIES VII - SOCIAL SCIENCES AND LAW","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122578811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Drawing upon Foucault`s (1967) “heterotopology”, I approach the ways in which balconies entail multi- layered encodings of meaning in places that are both openings and also “conceal curious exclusions” (Foucault, 1967/2008, p. 21). Firstly, I review Foucault’s groundwork and several theoretical developments regarding heterotopias. Next, I use Geertz’s (1973) “thick description” in order to offer a brief account of three forms of the balcony, which could be placed within Foucault’s systematic description of heterotopias.","PeriodicalId":298214,"journal":{"name":"SERIES VII - SOCIAL SCIENCES AND LAW","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133094631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper illustrates, by relying on a qualitative analysis of discourse markers in Legal English, several manners of efficiently teaching the pragmatic and functional roles of discourse markers in legal English texts to Law students who study English as a foreign language in general and ESP in particular. The main aim is to develop the students’ ability to detect, define, analyze and use discourse markers in written and spoken legal language.","PeriodicalId":298214,"journal":{"name":"SERIES VII - SOCIAL SCIENCES AND LAW","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127869526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within the sociological approach, there is a certain paradigmatic position, as part of the interdisciplinary social theory of neo-Marxism, a school of thought that expresses a moderate position, with socio-economic influences, between the cultural approach and the theory of iconic brands, and the postmodern anti-branding movement, both positioned in a constructivist-interpretivist paradigmatic scheme, the latter being analysed in the second part of the article.","PeriodicalId":298214,"journal":{"name":"SERIES VII - SOCIAL SCIENCES AND LAW","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114646565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with polyphonic chunks, inaccurate information penetrates the echo-chambers we create. The danger is that unless timely spotted, it sows disinformation and polarization. The solution resides in media literacy skills, in raising awareness over types of communication products meant for malicious use especially within social media where user generated content contributes to proliferating and spreading the content at incredible speed.
