We decided to study the use of xenograft from sheep pericardium in tympanoplasty in rabbits in an experiment with chronic dry mesotympanitis. Experimental morphological studies using a xenograft were carried out in 28 rabbits. We decided to study the use of xenograft from sheep pericardium in myringoplasty in rabbits in the experiment, and in patients with chronic dry mesotympanitis. Experimental morphological studies using a xenograft were carried out in 28 rabbits. In the experiment, a positive result was obtained in 25 (89.3%) rabbits. In addition, 77 patients with dry perforation of the tympanic membrane were examined. To compare the results of the study, these patients underwent myringoplasty: 54 patients with the use of a xenograft from the sheep pericardium, 23 patients with the use of the fascia of the temporal muscle. A total of 120 patients were selected from the outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, between September 2019 and December 2021. Cough nature was assessed by recording its duration, frequency, intensity, and associated symptoms. The results showed that patients with TB had a higher frequency and intensity of cough compared to those with CNSLD. Patients with pulmonary TB had a longer duration of cough compared to those with extrapulmonary TB. Patients with TB also reported more symptoms such as hemoptysis and fever.
