Dabei geht es zum einen um ontologische und dualistische Voreinstellungen sowie ihre Wissensgeschichte und zum anderen um die Spuren eben jener Wissensgeschichte in soziologischen Konzepten. Auf dieser Grundlage führt der Beitrag die Arbeiten von Judith Butler, Karen Barad und Donna J. Haraway in das Feld und entwickelt eine Konzeption von Sozialität als vermittelte Symbiogenese. Soziale bzw. soziomediale Ereignisse geraten so als komplexe Verschränkung spezifischer Wissensformationen, Materialitäten und Subjektivitäten sowie diskursiver Normen und Ausschlussverfahren in den Blick. Angesichts aktueller gesellschaftlicher, technologischer sowie ökologischer Herausforderungen schlägt der Beitrag einen Ansatz für kultursoziologische wie medientheoretische Untersuchungen von Phänomenen vor, deren Grenzen längst fraglich geworden sind.\u0000This article assumes that a social-theoretical and methodological limitation of sociality to intentional actions of human actors is based on specific preconditions. This involves ontological and dualistic assumptions and its history of knowledge as well as the traces of this history in sociological concepts. Second, the article focuses the work of Judith Butler, Karen Barad and Donna J. Haraway to elaborate on a concept of sociality as mediated symbiogenesis becoming. Sociality and mediality thus come into view as complex entanglements of specific knowledge formations, materialities and subjectivities as well as discursive norms and exclusions. Der vorliegende Beitrag argumentiert, dass neben der Vorstellung eines gezielt realisierbaren Handlungsresultats auch die Identifikation von Handeln und Bewirken aufgegeben werden muss, um zu einem wahrhaft postpoietischen Paradigma vorzudringen. Der Beitrag zeichnet zuerst die Argumentation nach, die der gezielten Realisierbarkeit bestimmter Handlungsresultate die Pluralität menschlicher (Hannah Arendt) oder nichtmenschlicher (Bruno Latour) Akteure entgegensetzt. Daran anschließend wird Martin Heideggers Unterscheidung von Bewirken und Entbergen entfaltet, um zu einer nicht bewirkenden, aber dennoch maßgeblichen Dimension des Handelns vorzudringen, welche u. a. im Handeln der Dinge, aber auch in der wissenschaftlichen Selbstreflexion zur Geltung kommt.\u0000The desideratum of a conception of social action that is not based on the paradigm of production has been articulated clearly in social theory. The present contribution argues that, in addition to the idea of a purposefully realizable outcome of action, the conception of action as a causally effectuating intervention has to be abandoned. The article first traces arguments that object to the idea of a purposefully controllable outcome of action by underlining the plurality of human (Hannah Arendt) or nonhuman (Bruno Latour) agents. Subsequently, it unfolds Martin Heidegger’s distinction of effecting and disclosing to bring into view a dimension of action that is decisive without being causally effective. Vergeben interessiert. Der folgende Beitrag begegnet dieser Leerstelle im Anschluss an Georg Simmel, Hannah Arendt, Vladimir Jankélévitch und Jacques Derrida auf sozialtheoretischer Ebene. Anders als empirische Untersuchungen, die alltägliche ‚Vergebungshandlungen‘ in den Blick nehmen, fokussiert er auf numerische, temporale, spatiale und gabentheoretische Gesichtspunkte sowie die Grenzen des Verzeihens in Anbetracht der Shoah. Dabei wird deutlich, dass – anders, als der Ordnungsbias der Soziologie nahelegt – Vergebung und Verzeihen nicht in erster Linie auf Kooperation und die Wiederherstellung gesellschaftlicher Beziehungen abzielen. Vielmehr handelt es sich vor allem um Praktiken der Entflechtung von sozialen Bindungen, die zur Fessel geworden waren.\u0000Despite the important role it plays in the lives of almost everyone, sociology has so far paid only little, if any, attention to condonation (‘Verzeihung’) and forgiveness (‘Vergebung’). This essay bridges the gap with reference to Georg Simmel, Hannah Arendt, Vladimir Jankélévitch, and Jacques Derrida. In opposition to empirical studies focusing on everyday practices (‘Vergebungshandlungen’), I will sketch the outlines of a short social theory of forgiveness with regard to its numeric, temporal, and spatial aspects as well as its limits in the light of the Shoa.
