Keterampilan berbicara pada jenjang Sekolah Mengah Pertama, megajarkan siswa bagaimana mereka akan berani tampil untuk berbicara di depan umum. Langkah awal yang harus dilakukan guru adalah menerapkan berbagai ilmu pengetahuan tentang keterampilan berbicara, sehingga siswa memiliki pengetahuan yang luas akan apa yang akan disampaikan kepada orang lain. Informasi-informasi yang aktual dan faktual serta komuniaktif dapat disajikan siswa kepada orang lain, ketika mereka memiliki wawasan yang luas, yang diperoleh dari berbagai sumber. Ada empat metode yang dapat dipakai siswa dalam keterampilan berbicara. Salah satu metode yang paling sering dipakai banyak orang adalah metode ekstemporan. Metode ekstemporan ini, pembicara hanya menyiapkan garis-garis besar dari tema atau materi yang akan disampaikan kepada pendengar. Kemudian garis-garis besar itu, siswa kembangkan sendiri dengan kemampuan intelektual yang dimiliki siswa. Metode ekstemporan ini sangat bermanfaat bagi pengembangan kemampuan keterampilan siswa dalam berbicara. This paper discusses a teaching and learning medium of speaking through story completion technique. By using this technique, it can be one of the exciting activities for motivating students in learning English confidently, especially speaking. The technique has activities which enable students to convey their ideas and all students obtain the same opportunities to speak at every meeting. The activities are oral activities that make student relax, happy and fun. The technique equips the students who have good English grammar and have sufficient vocabulary to explore their ideas in speaking. It does not mean that Story Completion technique cannot be used for students who have low English competence. Litualy","doi":"10.30598/tahurivol16issue2page10-21","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30598/tahurivol16issue2page10-21","url":null,"abstract":"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi; 2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan spasial terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi; 3) untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh antara kecerdasan spasial tinggi yang diajarkan dengan metode gambar berseri maupun konvnsional dan kecerdasan spasial rendah yang diajarkan dengan metode gambar berseri maupun konvensional terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Pattimura Ambon, tahun akademik 2016/2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan faktorial 2 x 2. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 18 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara acak pada setiap kelompok. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yakni (1) tes menulis karangan deskripsi dan (2) tes DAT atau space relation untuk mengukur kecerdasan spasial. Selanjutnya teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk membuktikan hipotesis pertama dan kedua adalah uji Mann Whitney. Sedangkan hipotesis ketiga dibuktikan dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran gambar berseri lebih baik daripada metode pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi. Selain itu, hasil keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi pada kelompok mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan tinggi tidak lebih baik daripada kelompok mahasiswa yang memiliki kecerdasan spasial rendah. In collecting the data, the researchers used theoretical try-out, main field try-out and operational field tryout. The results of research showed that the materials were effective for teaching listening to improve students’ ability through introducing Mollucan wisdom for students. The results of theoretical try-out is a score 78% which can be categorized as good. The result of main field try-out showed that the students felt confidence in working on exercise and enjoy them. Untuk memastikan bahwa kompetensi, baik kompetensi pengetahuan dan kompetensi ketrampilan telah dicapai, Kurikulum 2013 menekankan penilaian ketrampilan yang holistic dan individual. Guru diharapkan mampu untuk menyediakan penilaian menyeluruh untuk setiap peserta didik di kelasnya. Demikian juga, guru diharapkan mampu memfasilitasi proses pembelajaran yang memastikan peserta didik dapat mengembangkan kompetensi ketrampilannya, dalam hal ini kompetensi berbicara. Disisi lain, proses pembelajaran dikelas terbentur dengan singkatnya durasi tata muka. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini mencoba menggunakan Instagram sebagai alat penilaian ketrampilan berbicara dan sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di jenjang kelas VII. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan Instagram sebagai Alat Penilai Ketrampilan Berbicara sangat efektif untuk guru sedangkan bagi siswa hasil menunjukan bahwa mereka mnyukai penggunaan strategi ini karena menyenangkan dan mempu membangun rasa percaya diri dan ketrampilan berbicara. Biarlah proses menulis mengalir sendiri dari kemauan siswa, tugas guru untuk membantu, mengarahkan dan memotivasikan siswa. Bila siswa sudah mulai mencintai kegiatan menulis, pasti ada kreativitas yang muncul secara alami dari diri siswa tersebut. Kreativitas yang dimiliki siswa akan berdampak positif bagi siswa itu sendiri, karena siswa tersebut sudah bisa membuka wawasan dan alam pemikiran lebih luas lagi, karena dengan kreativitas yang dimiliki siswa tersebut, mereka dapat menulis apa saja. Dengan ketrampilan menulis yang dimiliki, siswa dapat mengembangkan kreativitas dan dapat mempergunakan bahasa sebagai sarana menyalurkan kreativitasnya dalam kehidupan sesehari dalam bentuk tulisan. The use of image media applied in this study follows what Macaire and Hosch (2004: 67) have suggested about the function of images, that images can reactivate students' initial knowledge (Vorwissen der Schülerinnen und Schüler), show similarities/authenticity (Authentizität) and indicate actual situations (Aktualität), a communicative perspective image of an object and a representative image, which is a visual that depicts the state of nature and people's lives. (Perspektive und Repräsentativität) and which have similarities or differ with their own culture (Nähe oder Ferne zur eigenen Kultur). This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Kontrastive Kulturkunde courses. The type of this research used is experiment with one group pretest - posttest design with t-test analysis technique with significance level α = 0.05. Testing the effectiveness of this study is with the use of image media. The target of this study was 20 students of semester 4, German Language Education Study Program FKIP Pattimura University Ambon in Kontrastive Kulturkunde courses. The result of the calculation appears that, tcount > ttable=1,729 which is 11,103 > 1,729. The benefits of comparative literature, among others: (1) as the basis of the study of cross-cultural literary works, (2) as the basis or basis of language skills learning (Sprachfertigkeiten) namely: listening (Hӧrverstӓndnis-Sprechfertigkeit), reading-writing (Leseverstӓndnis-Schreibfertigkeit), (3) as a means of strengthening character education. As the basis for cross-cultural text studies, comparative literary works can be used to compare cultures between nations. As the basis of language learning, comparative literary works, has a uniqueness that is not possessed by other linguistic teaching materials, because the language of literary works has a connotative characteristic (figurative), contains majas, and prioritizes the characteristics of narrative discourse. Language in literary works prioritizes its main function, which is communicative function and suitable to be used to teach language skills.
