The impact of the conservative climate created by these parties is apparent at the national level, but the little research carried out in the field has yet to examine the role of their local political power. In Sweden, the literature suggests that the radical right Sweden Democrats party has a stronger anti-immigration and ethnonationalist rhetoric at the local level, which may reduce the generalised trust of residents by triggering conflict theory. Calculating the conservative climate based on the percentage of party representatives on local councils using multi-level modelling, we observe that the contextual effect of the conservative climate is present and reduces generalised trust. However, the underlying cause of this effect is not fully known. He first graduated from the University of Szeged as a teacher of Geography and Geology, and then from the Faculty of Humanities at the Eötvös Loránd University as a teacher of History. He became the doctor of Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1989 and was appointed university professor in 1993. In the last two decades, he has dealt with transport geography and the study of the territorial effects of telematics. In 2004, he was awarded the Gábor Baross Prize and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary. In 2010, he was awarded the Officer’s Cross. The subsequently semi-structured interview was conducted in September 2021, at his home. The purpose of this discussion was to gain a better understanding of the important moments in the professor’s life, the milieu that played a role in shaping his professional career. He earned a degree as a teacher of Geography and Biology in 1967. During the 1980s, he gained national and international scientific recognition for his research on soil erosion processes, and completed his candidate dissertation in 1984. In the 1990s, he became nationally acknowledged for his publications, textbooks and scientific books on landscape and environmental protection, and earned an academic doctorate title in the topic. His scientific work was recognized with numerous awards. In 2020, he was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit in recognition of his several decades of research and teaching activities which have greatly contributed to the renewal of geography education at the University of Debrecen. The applied correlation analysis confirmed our assumption that scarcely more than a decade after the change of ownership relations, great differences can be detected among land prices, which reflect the main features of the county’s spatial structure. The land price map of Bács-Kiskun County demonstrates the main features of the spatial structrure and the characteristics of the centre-periphery relationships at municipal level. High land prices are typical in the areas which are rich in innovations and can be characterized with denser texture. Getting farther from them, the land prices become lower. While the Art Nouveau movement in Western Europe was influenced by the Japanese and Persian art, Hungary made efforts to find the origin of the Hungarian architecture. This study presents the Asian trip of architect Károly Róbert Kertész, published in his work entitled Architecture of Ceylon. In the 1930’s architect István Medgyaszay was invited to India to design a museum in Mumbai. His archive, containing the plans, photographs and letters born during the trip, can be found in the Medgyaszay Memorial House. During the reconstruction of Medgyaszay’s Indian trip (2021) some mysterious watercolour plans were discovered among his designs. In addition to local governments and tourism organizations, our important goal is to understand the ideas of service providers and their guests related to rural development, as well as the space use characteristics of the latter group. The key method is the questionnaire survey, the target group of which is the mayors of all settlements in the district, as well as the guests of the accommodations belonging to the different product types. The primary sources are based on two further series of interviews, which explore the opinions of service providers and professional organizations. Empirical experience shows that thematic trips can play a prominent role in the development of the less frequented small settlements. He graduated from the Eötvös Loránd University as a secondary school teacher specializing in Biology and Geography, and then as a Cartographer the following year. He holds a Doctorate from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and is currently a professor emeritus. His research interests include geomorphology, Quaternary research, and the geomorphological processes of rivers. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the reader to the most important stages of the professor’s life, his relationship to geography, and the factors shaping his career. The article is based on a series of online and personal interviews as well as written communication between October 2022 and January 2023. Thus, more and more attention is being paid to journal rankings created by prestigious (and generally Anglo-Saxon-dominated) reference databases (Web of Science or Scimago) that make this possible. They play a key role in the allocation of research resources; the promotion of researchers thus also influences the publication strategies. The study aims to explore the changes and certain spatial aspects in rankings within the Geography, Planning and Development category. The research is based on the analysis of the quartile classification of human geography journals indexed in the Scimago database.
