This article analyzes the situation with tuberculosis in Poland and Ukraine in modern conditions. The joint work of Polish and Ukrainian specialists is presented on the example of the Polish hospital Edmund Wojtyla Lesser Poland Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases and Rehabilitation, Jaroszowiec, Poland and various medical and higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Polish doctors and specialists have long worked on the study of new modern methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of tuberculosis. The annual congresses held in Krakow were devoted to this issue. In 2019, a Polish—Ukrainian project was prepared and implemented «Transfer of good practices in diagnosis, treatment and epidemiological surveillance of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in Eastern Ukraine». The project was developed by the Polish Humanitarian Team in collaboration with Director Krzysztof Grzesik and the Edmund Wojtyla Lesser Poland Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases and Rehabilitation, Jaroszowiec, which proposed some of the activities. It included a stay and mutual cooperation in transferring good practices of both doctors, medical staff, students and hospital directors from several cities in Ukraine. Ukrainian healthcare representatives became acquainted with the achievements in Jaroszowiec, the Mycobacterium Laboratory in Krakow, the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in Warsaw and its field unit in Rabka-Zdrój. The second part of the project was to transfer knowledge and Polish experience gained during trainings conducted in Poland, with social workers and hospital staff in Ukraine (in Petropavlovsk, Mariupol, Lutsk and Ternopil), as well as with health workers in Mariupol. Given the need to ensure the continuity of treatment and diagnosis of tuberculosis in modern conditions, to respond to the challenges associated with coronavirus disease (COVID-19), it is necessary to unite the efforts of doctors and other specialists in Poland and Ukraine to achieve positive results.

It were found that patients with COVID-19 often have multiple neurological and mental disorders, such as agitation (69 %), signs of damage to the corticospinal tract (67 %), confusion (65 %) and neuropsychological disorders (33 %). Among the mental disorders that are observed after a coronavirus disease, the most common are insomnia (42 %), decreased concentration and attention (38 %), anxiety (36 %), memory disorders (34 %), depression (33 %), confusion (28 %) and other disorders of consciousness (21 %). The most vulnerable contingents of the population are children, adolescents and the elderly, who suffer not only from the disease itself, but also from the consequences of isolation. Special attention should be paid to healthcare professionals, who often have anxiety (12—20 %), depression (15—25 %), insomnia (8 %) and post-traumatic stress disorder (35—49 %). \u0000Conclusions. The COVID-19 pandemic has already profoundly strongly influenced the mental health of the population. This was especially reflected in such groups of the population as patients with psychiatric pathology, medical workers, the elderly and people in difficult financial situations. Given the potential for new waves of COVID-19 disease and increased quarantine restrictions, as well as the possibility of new epidemics in the future, it is important to make clear guidelines that will help mitigate the impact of the pandemic crisis and restrictive measures and prevent massive mental health deterioration.

The aggressive SARS-CoV-2 virus mainly infects the lungs, most patients with asthma have an increased risk of infection and are likely to have a potentially more severe course of COVID-19.The purpose of the analysis presented in this paper is to assess and forecast the prospects for establishing control over asthma and allergic diseases in a pandemic COVID-19.According to the IPCRG, patients with asthma may not always be able to differentiate between asthma attacks and COVID-19 infection due to the similarity of respiratory symptoms. This leads to untimely care for SARS-CoV-2 and/or discontinuation of asthma treatment, which can have serious consequences. An important problem for practitioners is that patients with bronchoobstruction and allergy syndrome are often afraid of the risk of seeking medical attention during a COVID-19 pandemic and may confuse allergic symptoms with symptoms of coronavirus infection. The U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention has identified algorithms for providing non-COVID-19 care during a pandemic: to quickly detect and respond to an increase in COVID-19 cases among patients with asthma; provide assistance in the safest way; keep in mind that services may need to be gradually expanded.

Evaluation of mortality caused by TB-IRIS. \u0000Materials and methods. A retrospective analysis of 60 cases of confirmed tuberculous meningitis in patients who were treated in anti-tuberculosis institutions in Kiev and Kiev region in 2017—2019 was carried out. The medical records of the patients were studied. Results and discussion. Co-infection with HIV-TB among patients was confirmed in 57 (95 %) cases. In 21 patients (36.8 %; CI 24.7—50.0 %) with HIV-TB co-infection, a link was established between the appointment of ART and the development of tuberculous meningitis. 19 (90.5 %) of them had risk factors at the time of ART. Fifteen (71.4 %) patients had other localizations of tuberculosis besides tuberculosis of the central nervous system (pulmonary tuberculosis, tuberculosis of intrathoracic lymph nodes, tuberculosis of peripheral lymph nodes, tuberculosis of the genitourinary system). The mean CD4+-lymphocyte count before ART was (61.6 ± 16.9) cells/µL (p ≤ 0.05). All patients were prescribed standard antimycobacterial therapy and ART. 9 (42.8 %) patients were cured. One (4.7 %) developed severe disability: peripheral tetraparesis and severe cerebrosthenia. 11 patients died, mortality was 52.4 % (CI 30.2—74.1 %). \u0000Conclusions. TB-IRIS is the cause of tuberculous meningitis in HIV-infected patients in 36.8 % of cases; (CI 24.7—50.0 %).
