The study was conducted to investigate the mental health problems of talented students in special schools and students from ordinary ones in Semnan province in Iran (2019). Materials and Methods : In a cross-sectional study using cluster sampling, a group of junior high school students were evaluated using the strengthens and difficulties questionnaire (SDQ) for evaluation of mental health in five domains: emotional symptoms, conduct problems, hyperactivity/inattention, peer relationship problems and prosocial behavior. Results: From 24 selected public schools, 624 students (304 boys and 320 girls) participated in the study. The relative frequency of problems in special schools (291 people) was 18.6% (95% CI: 14.1 to 23.0) and in ordinary schools (331 people) was 30% (95% CI: 25.1 to 34.9) ( P <0.001). The overall prevalence of problems after population weighting was estimated at 28.8%. Talented students showed better status in the areas of emotional and conduct ( P <0.001). Adjusting for other variables education in ordinary schools was associated with a significant increase in the chance of having mental health problem (Adjusted OR=1.90, 95% CI: 1.06, 3.42; P =0.032) Conclusion: Differences in the prevalence of mental health problems may be partly related to individual and the school environment differences. However, the role of socio-economic differences should not be ignored. Given the relatively high prevalence of mental health problems, it is recommended that more attention be paid to effective and periodic screening and monitoring of students, especially in ordinary schools.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129002298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory as well as acute toxicity effects of Asparagus persicus root essential oil (APEO) in male mice. Materials and Methods : Male adult mice were used. In pain assessment tests (writhing, tail-flick, and formalin tests), animals divided to the six groups: control/vehicle (Tween 80+distilled water), three groups treated with the APEO (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg, gavage/oral treating), morphine (i.p.), and naloxone (i.p.) plus APEO (400 mg/kg). Moreover, inflammation test (xylene and carrageenan tests), animals divided to five groups: control, three groups of APEO (orally), and dexamethasone (i.p.). For toxicity tests, the animals were divided to the six groups. Results: Results showed that APEO at a dose of 400 mg/kg in writhing and tailflick tests induced an antinociceptive effect as compared with the control (P<0.01). In addition, in xylene test, treatment with doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg of APEO reduced significantly the amount of mice ear inflammation compared to the control group. No acute acute toxicity of APEO was found. Conclusion: Our findings suggests that APEO has antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects in male mice.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130667787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to design and test psychometer a questionnaire to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of paramedical staff about nosocomial infections. Materials and Methods : The present study is a mixed method research with a confirmatory approach, which is conducted in 2019 in Tehran. The initial items of the questionnaire were designed based on previous studies and opinions of a team of specialists. Then, the face, content, and structural validity of the designed questionnaire was examined quantitatively. Finally, the reliability of the attitude and knowledge and evaluation of municipal performance items were measured by Cronbach’s alpha and a test-retest method, respectively. Results: The final questionnaire consisted of 45 questions. The content validity iIndex (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR) for the questionnaires were obtained in the range of 0.8 to 1. The face validity of the questions was 3.35. In knowledge section, Richardson's coefficient was 0.81 and in attitude and practice sections, Cronbach's alphas were 0.71 and 0.83, respectively. The Pearson correlation coefficient obtained for knowledge component (r=0.91) for attitude (r=0.85) and performance (r=0.9). Cronbach's alpha, Pearson correlation, and cconfirmatory factor analysis were in an acceptable level. Conclusion: The designed questionnaire had good validity and reliability, which can be suggested to be used in measuring the knowledge, attitude and practice of paramedical staff about to nosocomial infections.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121672358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Balance is one of the most important posture component that might be reduced by upper crossed syndrome. This study aimed to compare of eight-week shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle and combined corrective exercises program for improving the balance in this syndrome. Materials and Methods : In this study, 45 female students with upper crossed syndrome were selected purposefully and divided randomly in three groups including shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle, and combined exercises. Conspicuously, progressive corrective exercises were performed in all groups for eight weeks and three sessions per week for 30 to 70 minutes. The static balance was evaluated before and after the intervention by a foot-scanner. Results: The results of repeated measures ANOVA analysis in all three groups showed significant increase within the groups after intervention ( P =0.000). The results of post hoc test for 30 seconds with open eyes ( P =0.05) and 30 seconds with closed eyes ( P =0.04) showed a significant difference between combined and shoulder girdle group exercises. No significant difference was observed between 10 seconds with right foot ( P =0.84) and 10 seconds with left foot ( P =0.58) groups. Conclusion: The simultaneously correction of posture abnormalities as a comprehensive is more effective in improving balance instead of correction of each abnormality as an independent component. Therefore, comprehensive oriented corrective exercises are advised for improvement of balance in upper crossed syndrome.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129823873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
