The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of low-level laser therapy on the biophysical behavior of osteosarcomas based on the surface topographic mapping and fractal dimension analysis. Materials and Methods : Human osteosarcoma MG-63 Cells were cultured in DMEM-F12 with 10% FBS and were exposed by laser beams after reaching to confluence of 80% in the fourth passage. The lasers with characteristics of 532nm with the power of 25mW, 650nm with powers of 3mW and 150mw and 780nm with the power of 70mW were implemented for irradiation within 8 minutes and cell proliferation was assessed 72h after exposure time. In the next step, cell size changes in three dimensions were evaluated by using surface topographic mapping with atomic force microscopy and confocal imaging and fractal dimension analysis was performed by using the processing of confocal images. Results: The laser irradiation causes significant changes in proliferation, height, perimeter and area of osteosarcomas. Moreover, except 3mW laser, all of them create significant changes in fractal dimension compared with the non-irradiated cells. Conclusion: Assessing the fractal dimension besides the evaluation of three-dimensional cell sizes can be considered as a reliable index for the prognosis of the osteosarcomas response to low-level laser therapy.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127160485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current study evaluated the antiepileptic effects and neuroprotective functions of fenofibrate in pentylenetetrazole (PTZ)-induced kindling seizure in mice. Materials and Methods : Adult male NMRI mice were randomly assigned into three groups (n=8): Control, untreated kindled mice and fenofibrate-treated kindled animals. Repeated intraperitoneal injections of PTZ (45 mg/kg) once every 48 hours were used to develop the kindling seizure for 21 days. Treated mice were administered orally fenofibrate at doses of 30 mg/kg/day. Plasma level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), brain level of malondialdehyde (MDA) and histopathological changes were evaluated at termination of the study. Results: Fenofibrate administration considerably improved the seizure latency in treated kindled mice. Fenofibrate significantly ( P <0.05) decreased plasma BDNF level in treated kindled mice (12.06±0.08 ng/mL) compared to PTZ group (13.43±0.20 ng/mL). Treatment with fenofibrate significantly ( P <0.05) decreased MDA level of brain by 68% in treated kindled mice compared to PTZ group. In addition, fenofibrate improved the histopathological damages in treated kindled animals. Conclusion: Fenofibrate ameliorated the plasma level of BDNF and brain level of MDA accompanied with the brain histopathological damages in kindling seizure in mice that might be associated to improving the seizure behaviors.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"419 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124204718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to compare two training methods (immersion in cold-water pond and yoga technique) on blood lactate during the return phase to the original state after a grueling exercise. Materials and Methods : 45 male soccer players were randomly divided into 3 equal groups and performed 15 minutes of recovery in cold-water immersion at 10 ° C and performing yoga techniques and passive rest (control) immediately after Cunningham intensive execise test. Blood lactate levels before, immediately, 5 minutes and 15 minutes after test in three the group was measured. Results: A significant increase in blood lactate levels immediately after exercise compared to baseline levels was observed in all groups ( P <0.05). Significant differences were observed in blood lactate levels at 5 and 15 minutes of recovery compared to baseline levels in the two groups than control group ( P <0.05). A significant decrease in blood lactate after 5 minutes in the immersed group and 15 minutes in the yoga group was more than the other groups. Conclusion: Both methods are able to return the levels of blood lactate to the original state. However, the highest reduction in blood lactate was found at 5 min after immersing in pond of cold water, and at 15 min after the yoga practice.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126418186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Zeta potential of nanoparticles, nanoparticle loading efficiency, recombinant protein release pattern, potential effect of poly (lactic acid)- poly (ethylene glycol) nanoparticle (PLA-PEG) production on the viability of recombinant proteins were investigated. Mice were used as test and control samples for antibody production and immune response evaluation. Results: The mean antibody titer produced against chimeric proteins loading was significantly different from that of free antigens. Correspondingly, the difference in antibody titer was significant between the groups of one and two times’ injection of loading and free antigens and the most antibody titer was related to two times injections of loading antigens. In addition, there was a significant difference between one times injection of loading and the free antigens. This suggests that the loading chimeric antigen on PLA-PEG nanoparticles and one time injection (instead of four times injections) could produce more antibodies. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the domain 4 protective antigens and the domain 1 lethal factor of Bacillus anthracis could chimeric with each other and produced the active antigen. However, most studies have focused on school-aged children and early anxiety symptoms in preschoolers with autism and their comparison in groups of children with different symptom severity and normal children have been less addressed. So, this study sought to compare total anxiety and anxiety symptoms in children with mild, moderate and severe autism symptom severity and typically developing children. Materials and Methods : The research design is descriptive ex post facto and takes up the form of a cross-sectional study. In this study, four sample groups including 25 children with mild autism symptoms, 25 children with moderate autism symptoms, 21 children with severe autism symptoms and 25 typically developing children participated in the study. Data were collected using the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale-Second Edition (GARS-2) and Preschool Children Anxiety Scale. Results: The results of univariate and multivariate analysis of variance showed that there was a significant difference between four groups in total anxiety and symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety and separation anxiety ( P <0.001). The group of children with moderate and severe autism were not significantly different in total anxiety and anxiety symptoms ( P =0.99). There was no significant difference between four groups in specific phobias ( P <0.05). Also, the results of Scheffe post hoc test showed that the group of children with mild autism experienced higher levels of total anxiety, social anxiety and generalized anxiety than the group of children with severe and moderate autism and children with typically developing children ( P <0.001). Separation anxiety was higher in children with mild autism and children with typically developing children than the other two groups ( P <0.001). Conclusion: Our findings indicates that as the severity of autism symptoms increases, their cognitive abilities decrease in these children and their anxiety levels decreases. Accordingly, it seems that the experience of anxiety requires some cognitive skills and levels of cognitive development that are deficient in children with moderate and severe autism.","PeriodicalId":291099,"journal":{"name":"Koomesh journal","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125708513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
