We employ genetic algorithm (GA) along with Support Vector Machine (SVM) for automatically determining the appropriate set of features. The idea is then developed into a fully functional IDS. Experiments of testing the IDS on the benchmark KDD CUP 99 datasets are presented. The image enhancement using multiscale retinex scheme heavily depends on parameters such as Gaussian surround space constants, number of scales, gain and offset etc. Due to hard selection of these parameters, PSO has been used in order to investigate the optimal parameters for the best image enhancement. The PSO method of parameter tuning adopted for multiscale retinex with modified color restoration (MSRMCR) algorithm achieves very good quality of reconstructed images, far better than that possible with the other existing methods. The presented algorithm is compared with other promising enhancement schemes such as histogram equalization, NASA's multiscale retinex with color restoration (MSRCR), Improved MSRCR (IMSRCR), and Photoflair software. The quality of the enhanced image is validated iteratively using an efficient objective criterion which is based on entropy and edge information of an image. Finally, the quality of the reconstructed images obtained by the proposed method is evaluated using Wavelet Energy (WE) metric. This research proves that configuration plays a vital role in energy optimisation, node failure and network lifetime when designing a Tree WSN. We compare a Progressive Two Level Tree WSN with a Balanced Two Level Tree WSN. Our simulation results prove that a Progressive configuration has two advantages, over a Balanced configuration, which are less computations required to complete each process and more tolerance of node failures. These Progressive configuration advantages both lead to more energy efficiency compared to a Balanced configuration. The algorithm works iteratively over a relative expression domain using NMRS (Normalized Mean Residue Similarity) measure, it discovers a set of possibly overlapping subspace clusters for any gene expression matrix. According to the American Cancer Society nearly 7.6 million people died from cancer during 2007. The true inspiration for this paper comes from the paper \"Implementing automated diagnostic systems for breast cancer detection\" by E. D. Ubeyli, achieved appealing results by using different kinds of Neural Network algorithms such as Combine Neural Network(CNN) Recurrence Neural Network(RNN), Probabilistic Neural Network(PNN), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) and Support Vector Machine (SVM)). We used a hybrid approach for the same diagnosis. The hybrid system that we used was Neuro-Fuzzy (ANFIS-MATLAB) which is a combination of Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic. As an extension of this research and curiosity to evaluate the hybrid approach we implemented a Fuzzy Inference System(FIS) in MATLAB using fuzzy toolbox. The hybrid system trained on equally distributed dataset outperforms all other approaches discussed in literature. Specifically the sensitivity obtained in our Neuro-Fuzzy system is 100% which outperforms sensitivity of 99.37% in the SVM (Support Vector Machine) model used by E. D. Web Analytics has become a very important component of many web based system environment and helps in taking business decisions. This paper describes the process of Web Analytics, also the importance and the workings of summary for analytics. For the evaluation of web sites many tools and metrics are available. Basically these metrics are derived from the kind of response of the website users that tells the success of the website. Here we studied the information collected and the analysis done by various authors related to this collection. The key reason for MapReduce's popularity is because it can run on commodity hardware and it comes with a job scheduler and task management framework. Thus, the MapReduce framework allows the application programmers to focus on their application program and not on the management infrastructure. Job scheduler is a key component of the MapReduce framework as it controls when and where a job's tasks get executed. However, current MapReduce schedulers assume that the Hadoop cluster is homogeneous in nature. In this paper we show that making the scheduler be aware of and leverage the cluster heterogeneity can improve in the overall throughput of the system.\u0000 The design of our scheduler is based on the following two key insights: 1) A large percentage of the MapReduce jobs that are run are periodic in nature. That is, these jobs execute at the same time and roughly have the same characteristics with respect to their CPU, network and disk resource requirements. 2) The nodes in a Hadoop cluster over time become heterogeneous in nature as failed and old nodes are replaced by newer ones. Thus, there is need for a 'Context Aware Scheduler for Hadoop (CASH)' which knows the context i. e. the job characteristics (CPU or I/O bound) and the resource characteristics like Computational or I/O strength of the nodes in the cluster.\u0000 We have implemented CASH algorithm in both a simulator and also in a real Hadoop MapReduce cluster. We quantitatively compare CASH with the existing Hadoop FIFO scheduler and our results show significant improvement in the overall execution time of a set of MapReduce jobs. Hence, to provide security, the communication among sensor node is to be protected using encryption. Because of the resource constrained nature of the sensor nodes special mechanism is needed for the management of cryptographic keys in WSN. A hexagonal group based deployment model which makes use of 'q' composite random key pre-distribution scheme is suggested. This method makes use of deployment knowledge which is available prior to the network deployment. The keys are distributed among the nodes of sensor network in such a way that, only the nodes in same or adjacent deployment groups share the key, since they are more probable to be neighbors. After the items are dispatched from warehouse and are moving towards destination, these parameters are either not maintained or poorly maintained. Therefore, a portable, low cost embedded device is required to continuously monitor and log the environmental sensitive parameter of the item in transit. This device is configurable by user and will generate alert signals (visual/audio) on certain condition like any violation, device starts/restarts etc. when the item reaches the destination, the data logged by the device can be read for analysis. Itinerary planning is one of the important requirements for mobile agents in completing the given task efficiently. The static itinerary planning may not be the best approach in real network environments as the status of network components are subject to change dynamically. Dynamic itinerary planning makes the agent to change the itinerary dynamically according to the current state of network. For an information retrieval application, the main issue is to find an optimal itinerary for the mobile agent in order to achieve the efficient and effective data collection. Further, for a host to accommodate a remote agent, it must be ensured that the work load of the host is manageable. This paper provides an environment that selects the next optimal host for the mobile agent to visit by requesting the available directory services on the fly. For a host, to accommodate the incoming agents and to maintain work load, this paper provides a mechanism that either destroys the agents for which the task is completed or transferred to secondary memory if the mobile agent is waiting for an event to occur.
