Regarding a system of cities as a set of \"particles\" distributed randomly on a triangular lattice, we construct a spatial correlation function of cities. Suppose that the spatial correlation follows the power law. It can be proved that the correlation exponent is the second order generalized dimension. The spatial correlation model is applied to the system of cities in China. The results show that the Chinese urban system can be described by the correlation dimension ranging from 1.3 to 1.6. The fractality of self-organized network of cities in both the conventional geographic space and the \"time\" space is revealed with the empirical evidence. The spatial correlation analysis is significant in that it is applicable to both large and small sizes of samples and can be used to link different fractal dimensions in urban study, including box dimension and radial dimension.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. In order to develop cognitively imperfect robot, the research suggests to implement various cognitive biases in a robot's interactive behaviours. In the authors' understanding, such cognitively biased behaviours in robot will help the participants to relate with it easily. In the current paper, they show comparative results of the experiments using five biased and one non-biased algorithms in a 3D printed humanoid robot MARC. The results from the experiments show that the participants initially liked the robot with biased and imperfect behaviours than the same robots without any mistakes and biases.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. A fractal top is analogous to a set attractor as it is the fixed point of a contractive transformation. However, the definition of IFS is extended so that it works on the colour component as well as the spatial part of a picture. They can be used to colour-render pictures produced by fractal top and stealing colours from a natural picture. Barnsley has used the one-step feed-back process to compute the fractal top. In this paper, the authors introduce a two-step feedback process to compute fractal top for contractive and non-contractive transformations.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. This is in spite of the fact that the human action of the cognitive band, which is of the order of seconds, is much slower than the speed of the modern computer. In this paper, the author shall first examine the basic differences between the scientific systems and the humanistic systems. Then based on these resulting differences, the author shall propose a neural-soft-computing combined approach, which is naturally suited for the vague and difficult to define humanistic systems. These combined systems are developed during the last approximately twenty years. Yet, it has not applied to the humanistic systems in a systematic and extensive manner. Some of the neural-soft-computing systems, also known as neural-evolutionary operational systems are the combined use of neural network, or support vector machine, with fuzzy system or fuzzy logic and evolutionary operational techniques such as genetic algorithm. Several of these systems are summarized and discussed as to why these systems seem more promising for the handling of humanistic systems. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches, several initial applications in the literature are summarized.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. In this paper, we describe the structural representation of English stemmer, POS tagging and design transfer rules which can generate Hindi sentence from the structural representation of the English sentence. Due to the specific terminology of homoeopathic sentences and the linguistic gap between the two languages the translation of these literatures form English to Hindi is a challenging task. The rule sets are used to plug gap between the two languages. Further, rule sets are described for mapping preposition verbs, nouns, etc. Finally, a system architecture has been proposed for the translation of homoeopathy literature from English to Hindi Language. The system accuracy has been evaluated using Bleu score, which is found out to be 0.7501 and the accuracy percentage of the system is 82.23%.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. Hence when a lost student is found we need to identify the student on the basis of information such as name of the student, institution name where he studies, class or branch of the student, etc. But the fact is that in most of the cases one never gets complete and precise information to identify a lost student. Hence, in such environment a soft computing model can be an attractive alternative to identify a lost student on the basis of imprecise or partial information. This paper presents a soft computing model for identifying lost student on the basis of imprecise and partial information. In this model student information is represented as a symbolic student object. Symbolic student object is further processed using a fuzzy symbolic model for identifying the lost student. The authors have devised a symbolic knowledge base which acts as a repository of information pertaining to student of different institutions that assist in creating student object and identifying the lost student. A fuzzy technique \"symbolic similarity measure\" is devised for generating symbolic student object and mapping the symbolic student object with student information present in knowledge base. This system has been tested scrupulously and an efficiency of above 90% has been achieved in identifying the lost student.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif. Representation of textual data was performed by a method independent of the language ie n-gram characters and words because there is currently no method of learning that can directly represent unstructured data text. To validate the classification, the authors used a measure of evaluation based on recall and precision F-measure. During the experiment, the authors found a powerful visualization tool in social spiders that they exploit to make visual classification.","PeriodicalId":289669,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Artif.
