Workplaces in male-dominated societies are also male-oriented, as gender stereotypes, beliefs, and assumptions of such societies are reinforced in organizations. This domination of the male is embedded mostly within the organizational structure (e.g. hierarchy), organizational activity (e.g. the organization sponsors rugby tournaments for its male employees), working hours, or the organization's language (e.g. the organization expects women to be cooperative and caring and men to be competitive, confrontational, and assertive). Also, the members of the organization internalize this orientation as the normal or natural manner in which the organization functions. Thus, the manner in which a society defines the roles and responsibilities for its men and women clearly influences the roles of men and women in the workplace, and in their occupational situations as well. This is why the present research study, which uses case study as a methodology, argues that the socio-cultural challenges of women such as her limited rights, constrained freedom, and considerable duties at home gets replicated in the workplace as well and that they are often placed at the very bottom of the hierarchical pyramid providing minimal access to positions of authority. The present study makes an attempt to analyze the culture's influence on gender in the corporate communication departments of two organizations located in Japan and India. The authors study Kobe Steel, Ltd., Japan and RINL-VSP, India.","PeriodicalId":286963,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Communication","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132232331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A service can go smoothly if the constrains are removed. For that purpose, analysis of constraints is necessary. Keeping this in view, this study has been conducted. Tata Krishi Vikas Kendra (TKVK) of Aligarh district was selected as the study area. A semi-structured interview schedule was prepared for collecting information of the constraints perceived by the stakeholders at (i) organisational level and at (ii) client level. The data of organisational-level constraints were collected from TKVK personnel and those of functional-level constraints from franchisee and member farmers regarding provision of inputs and services. Constraints were analysed on the broad aspects, such as organisational constraints and functional constraints. As all the items were not ranked by all the respondents, the method of combining of incomplete order of merit ranking, as suggested by Garrett, was followed. It has been found that in organisational level job security and in functional level lack of co-operation from existing ground-level organisation ranked in first.","PeriodicalId":286963,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Communication","volume":"416 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113986709","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The channel mainly consists of producer, village merchant or agent, wholesaler or distributor and retailer. This trend shows the parallel private unorganised traders determining the price of milk, even in the strong cooperative milk marketing system regions. The present study was aimed to find the marketing behaviour of the dairy farmers of the western region of Tamil Nadu. Two districts, namely, Erode and Coimbatore, were selected purposively and the result was derived from 240 respondents. Majority of the respondents had medium level of marketing behaviour, which is implied through six components, namely, milk transport facilities’ utilisation pattern, milk marketing channel utilisation, availing of input/credit facilities, payment receiving pattern, mode of payment for sale of milk and price satisfaction of the respondents. The study analysed the dairy farmers’ behaviour-related variables and also reflected the relationship of characteristics with their marketing behaviour. It may be concluded that large herd size and higher income possessed by the farmers ensure high marketing ability among the respondents.","PeriodicalId":286963,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Communication","volume":"281 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121821632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
