Olmedo","doi":"10.23854/07199562.2019551.pena35","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.23854/07199562.2019551.pena35","url":null,"abstract":"Este estudio derivo mediciones de albedo en los glaciares Olivares Alfa, Beta y Gama, ubicados en Los Andes de Chile central, mediante el procesamiento de imagenes satelitales Landsat-8 adquiridas en Enero de 1990, 1996 y 2017, con el proposito de estimar las variaciones espaciales y temporales de dicha variable. Entre 1990 y 2017, el albedo promedio del glaciar Olivares Alfa se redujo en 0,17 (0,43- 0,26), lo que se tradujo en una tasa de retroceso anual de 1,78%. Durante el mismo periodo, el albedo promedio del glaciar Olivares Beta se redujo en 0,09 (0,48-0,39), lo que se tradujo en una tasa de retroceso anual de 1,33%, en tanto que el albedo promedio del glaciar Olivares Gama se redujo en 0,12 (0,45-0,33), traduciendose en una tasa de retroceso anual de 1,1%. El mapeo del diferencial de albedo de cada glaciar, resultante de restar el albedo de 1990 al de 2017, permitio apreciar las variaciones espaciales de la variable durante dicho periodo, evidenciando sus mayores decrecimientos tanto en las zonas de acumulacion como de ablacion de los glaciares. Araya","doi":"10.23854/07199562.2019551.pena74","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.23854/07199562.2019551.pena74","url":null,"abstract":"Este estudio exploro la capacidad que ofrece el producto de profundidad optica de aerosoles (aerosol optical depth, AOD) creado diariamente desde imagenes MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) adquiridas a las 10:30 AM y 1:30 PM hora local, para predecir las concentraciones superficiales de material particulado fino (MP2,5), medidas en las estaciones de monitoreo de la ciudad de Santiago, Chile, durante los meses estivales del ano 2016. Para esto, fueron realizadas correlaciones lineales entre ambas fuentes de datos, remotos y de terreno, calzados en tiempo y espacio, que permitieron dilucidar los dias y estaciones donde MODIS-AOD puede ofrecer la mejor correlacion. Considerando estos casos fue realizado un modelo de regresion lineal simple que permitio explorar la capacidad predictiva de MODIS-AOD. Las mejores correlaciones fueron consistentemente obtenidas cuando los datos MODIS-AOD creados a la 1:30 PM fueron considerados por estacion a lo largo de todos los dias muestreados en el periodo de interes. Al agrupar las estaciones de Cerro Navia, Quilicura y Pudahuel, el coeficiente de correlacion fue 0,77, en tanto que el modelo de regresion explico el 63% del comportamiento de las concentraciones superficiales de MP2,5 y mostro una precision de 69,1%. For this purpose, a supervised classification was carried out in fiveyear periods based on satellite images, Google Earth support and the land use thematic classification established by the National Forest Corporation in 2011. From this, it was determined qualitatively and quantitatively change the territory according to thematic cartography and a confusion matrix. In addition, the population increase was determined based on data published for 2017 by the Statistics Institute of Chile and the determination of potential vehicular load established in the field, with the support of sample units. Overall, the analysis is the basis for road identification and improvement of the area and its connectivity to structuring routes, from the perspective of objective image, with the support of methodologies and inputs from geomatics, topographic concepts, the projection of new alternatives vials and ground support. Ash was carried by wind currents to-wards the Great Metropolitan Area (GMA), southwest to the summit, which contains about 60% of the national population. Previous work on hazard as-sessment for ash fall at Irazu only estimate influence areas without detailing hazard levels based on the observed distribution of events between 1963-1965. These cartographic models are not suited for realistic risk estimation, informed land use planning or proper emergency management. In this paper, we used the computer code NG-TEPHRA for simulating ash fallout from Irazu volcano, as-sessing the associated volcanic hazard and developing an improved hazard map from ash fall by devising a hazard index that combines the spatial probabilities of relevant scenarios with estimates of deposited ash volumes. Previous simula-tions results from our group were already calibrated against observed historical and field (geological) data from the 1963-1965 eruptive period and were used for obtaining the final hazard map.
