One critical issue in developing WSNs related applications and protocols is how to measure the Energy consumption, which is very important for estimating the network lifetime. TOSSIM simulator is one of the most popular simulators for developing and testing WSN protocols and applications. However, it does not support energy measurements, which was tackled by an extension tool called POWERTOSSIM. This tool works separately from TOSSIM where it uses the simulation's output file at the end of the simulation to generate energy measurements. Therefore, TOSSIM and POWERTOSSIM do not support developing energy-aware protocols and applications for WSN, because this type of development needs online energy measurements, while the simulation is running. In this paper, we tackle this drawback by developing an Online Energy Model and integrate it with TOSSIM simulator. The proposed model is verified by comparing its results with the results generated by POWERTOSSIMZ.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"143 11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129407871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This strategy is justified by its multiple advantages, particularly in terms of data availability. However, the intermediary network through which these operations are carried out is often the Internet. No one can deny that this network does not provide any mechanism of privacy, integrity, or authentication. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the key performance indicators (KPI) of a Voice over IP network that crosses a public network using VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117033371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the industrial platforms near cities reduce their activity and the number of residential customers grows, there is an increasing need for voltage compensation and loss management in highly loaded MV and LV distribution networks supplying large residential communities. VAR compensation using capacitor banks remains a cost-effective solution for this problem. This paper presents an improved method for loss reduction in MV distribution networks, using an optimal placement of capacitor banks, with a recently proposed metaheuristic, the Sperm Whale Algorithm (SWA).","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128394869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is the classification of faults based on time-frequency image processing. Direct classification of such images does not provide satisfactory results. The processing chain, from data acquisition to image processing, is complex and needs a qualitative analysis, highlighting also the importance of the right preprocessing. Two pre-processing steps are considered, at the level of time and time-frequency planes. It reveals a source separation and stationarity analysis, for the first pre-processing chain, and, for the second one, the image scaling, and registration. Content analysis of time-frequency images shows a variance of the content across the observation frame/window of the same fault. It is concluding that images with high complexity, evaluated here with Renyi entropy, must be excluded from the registration process of the images. Finally, an alternative approach, for classification of the time-frequency images, feature selection and extraction must be considered. Computer-based experiments sustain the observation and the comments during such an analysis.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130475009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Environmental protection, sustainable development and energy efficiency are increasingly well-known concepts, applied by managers, regulators and end users alike. Increasingly often and severe weather phenomena, terrorism, cyber-criminals and hybrid warfare are impacting the power systems, affecting the quality of life, the economy or even the energy security of states. The authors unambiguously recognize the progress made in implementing new technology systems (IT, telecom, SCADA) in power systems and intends to draws attention to the vulnerabilities that emerge with the digitization (much improved response speed, instantaneous location of any error/interruption, automatic protection systems, flexibility, etc.) in order to not allow for a relatively easy cyber-attack that could partially or totally bring the power grid down. The subject debated in this paper represents risk assessment of power systems as critical infrastructures and a fire simulation at an electrical transformer is presented as a case study.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132967574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In its turn, this requires a qualified and flexible labour force that can adapt to the market needs. The ability to defeat competition at a national and international level, is based on the indissoluble link between education and employment, because the former allows a greater receptivity of the educational system to the requirements of the labour market. The approach of the present paper is a multidimensional one, examining the interactions between the educational productivity and the employment requirements. The research is based on some questionnaires which allow a better understanding of the processes and results of some educational systems, together with the requirements specific to the labour market. All proofs suggest that the entities that meet the educational standards, interacting with the market and promoting change, offer higher chances of employment and better conditions on the labour force market.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133246452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the adopted mechanism, the screwing function of the corkscrew into the cork is different from the function of cork extraction. Consequently, a space-driven mechanical switching system with lever is proposed. The system is, also, equipped with a mechanical bistable device, which ensures the stability of the two states. The bottle cork extractor device, described in this paper, does not have a complete automation, because it requires manual operation for tipping the transfer lever. First of all, it was pursued a convenience of serving in the sense of minimal forces of user action. 3D modeling with SolidWorks programming environment has been used to design the device. Calculations for driving the device are, also, presented.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"266 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133318212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
