To develop new advanced services for smart environments, data gathered during the monitoring need to be stored, processed and correlated to different parts of the information that characterizes or influences the environment itself. With the quick advancement in enabling technologies for ubiquitous computing, more and more active or passive devices/sensors are augmented in the smart indoor environment. Service innovations, enabled by the confluence of big data, mobile solutions, cloud, social, and cognitive computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT), have gained a lot of attention among many enterprises in the past few years because they represent promising ways for companies to effectively and rapidly deliver new services. But one of today's most pervasive and bedeviling challenges is how to start this journey and stay on course. In this paper we present our state-of-the-art technology and IoT devices, how they are playing a vital role in making the world advanced. The biggest conclusion is that all the information and communications technology (ICT)-enabled service innovations need to be human-centered and focused on co-creating value. We took into consideration smart home/office IoT systems, the related security and privacy challenges and an outlook on the possible solutions towards a holistic security framework for these IoT systems.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115709001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But an unreliable transport cannot be attractive and will not be used at its fullest. It is important to have a good knowledge about the time a vehicle arrives in a bus stop, and when you will get to your destination. GPS systems may provide location, but with a rough approximation, especially in cities with tall buildings, or some vehicles may not possess it. Therefore, a complementary system must be installed to improve the location accuracy. Based on its main features, ZigBee was considered to be a solution. With the possibility of measuring RSSI, it was considered that location in two-dimensional space (like the road network) can be obtained. The analysis performed, both in laboratory (controlled) environment and in real life conditions, tested the possibility to use this technology for more accurate detection of public transport vehicles along the line.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132533182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The upcoming fifth generation (5G) mobile networks are likely to offer new advancements for SON solutions. In SON concept, self-healing is a prominent task which comes along with cell outage detection and cell outage compensation. 5G networks are supposed to have ultra-dense deployments which makes cell outage detection critical and harder for network maintenance. Therefore, by imitating the ultra-dense multi-tiered scenarios regarding 5G networks, this study investigates femtocell outage detection by means of the metrics generated in user equipments with the help of Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM). Based on the parameters such as signal to interference noise ratio and channel quality indicator, time series data of the user equipments in the femtocell site are trained and tested with LSTM network. On the average, in more than 77% of the cases the outage states of the femtocells are correctly predicted.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123982006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To address this issue, we report our efforts to develop a system capable of accurately tracking suspicious flying objects and identifying them on video streams. Our solution consists in coupling classical computer vision with deep learning to perform tracking and object detection. A discrete Kalman filter is used to predict the location of each object being tracked while the Hungarian algorithm is used to match objects between successive frames. Whenever a potential target is considered suspicious the input images are zoomed and fed into a deep learning pipeline that separates images into the classes aircraft, drones, birds or clouds. A literature survey indicates that this problem with important applications is yet to be fully explored.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115301698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result of this, there is an increasing number of security breaches of the networks, whose admins cannot protect their networks from the all types of attacks. Although most of these attacks can be prevented with the use of firewalls, encryption mechanisms, access controls and some password protections mechanisms; due to the emergence of new type of attacks, a dynamic intrusion detection mechanism is always needed in the information security market. To enable the dynamicity of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS), it should be updated by using a modern learning mechanism. Neural Network approach is one of the mostly preferred algorithms for training the system. However, with the increasing power of parallel computing and use of big data for training, as a new concept, deep learning has been used in many of the modern real-world problems. Therefore, in this paper, we have proposed an IDS system which uses GPU powered Deep Learning Algorithms. The experimental results are collected on mostly preferred dataset KDD99 and it showed that use of GPU speed up training time up to 6.48 times depending on the number of the hidden layers and nodes in them. Additionally, we compare the different optimizers to enlighten the researcher to select the best one for their ongoing or future research.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124769183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The regular treatment is providing the patient with opioid pain relievers medications that in a wide variety of cases leads to addiction. To prevent the partial use of pain reducing drugs in patients that suffer from minor to medium pain and delay their use as much as possible, we propose the use of Virtual Reality technology. Current technological advances have allowed virtual reality application to leave their mark in the medical sector by the use of different training simulators and applications that help the doctors experience from simulating a variety of surgeries. In this paper we present the effects of Virtual Reality immersion on patients that suffer mild to medium pain, as well as our knowledge in the implementation of a virtual reality application that can achieve a positive effect on this serious issue. A direct benefit of successfully creating an application would be the reduction in the amount of pain the patient feels. A second positive effect would be the decrease in the consumption of pain relievers and a better response of the patient to the recovery treatment without the risk of becoming depended on opioids.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125046322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The historical development of media literacy, is approached three different periods, determines the main parts of our study. It is possible to introduce the historical transformation of the past to the present media literacy education in Turkey with the evaluation of these concepts which emerged in “Traditional Media Literacy”, “Digital Media Literacy” and “Post-Digital Media Literacy” periods. The changing media process in each of these time segments and the changing media literacy equality is the only unknown to how to approach the media. Media literacy education, researched at different times, answers this question. With the help of descriptive and source scanning research methods used in the study, as well as to setting forth the paradigm of Turkey's media literacy, “changing user” which is unique to the periods mentioned above, draws the profile of the media literate.","PeriodicalId":285780,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123599251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
