This new networking paradigm is intended to mitigate limitations that appeared in traditional networks, such as vendor dependency, complexity or the lack of agility. It gradually migrated through several types of networks, beginning from campus networks, to data centers, transport networks or even Internet exchange points. The SDN ecosystem is expanding, from the SDN controller perspective and both southbound and northbound, including the development of applications. This paper introduces part of the work that was done for the third Wireless Transport SDN Proof of Concept (PoC). The purpose of the PoC was demonstrating the utility of a common information model that would represent a wireless transport device, to be used for its management and configuration in the context of SDN. A simulator consisting of a NETCONF server implementation, that would emulate the management interface of a network element but only return default values for its corresponding YANG attributes (Default Values Mediator — DVM) was realized using the OpenYuma software framework. This eased the development and testing of SDN applications that were proposed and implemented for the use cases of the PoC.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122823377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed partial pilot transmission method, pilots for estimating the SI channel are transmitted in part for the total transmit antennas. For the channels where the pilots are not transmitted, the previously estimated SI channels are utilized. Compared to the conventional method where pilots are transmitted for the whole transmit antennas, even if the partial pilot transmission method has the increased SI channel estimation error, the proposed pilot transmission method can achieve about a 1 bps/Hz gain in terms of the ergodic achievable rate.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122233872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ETSCH introduces whitelisting high-quality channels in TSCH and channel list for Enhanced Beacons, to improve reliability under dynamic interference. However, it is difficult to extend ETSCH to multi-hop network because energy consumption of energy-detecting nodes is larger than that of other nodes. In this paper, we propose Adaptive Channel Quality Estimation (A-CQE), which controls frequency of energy detections depending on Interference Dynamicity that are proposed to determine whether interference is dynamic or not. Experiments show ETSCH with A-CQE improves on average 10.1% in terms of energy consumption without lowering reliability compared with ETSCH.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129632360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed protocol, called GRCS, use the positions information of neighboring nodes to communicate the collected data to the destination. In fact, the routing decision in geographic routing protocols is based on the locations information of the destination and the forwarding nodes. Besides, that the communicated data in GRCS are assisted by the locations information of neighboring nodes, the clustering mechanism is introduced in the routing process to optimize the path to the destination dynamically. To achieve this, the network is organized into a set of clusters where a cluster-head (CH) is periodically elected for each duster. Hence, the CHs will determinate the nearest nodes to forward the data to the destination and consequently, this will makes the energy consumption more balanced. Further, GRCS mix three strategies of routing to be used in the process of forwarding data to the destination. Simulation results in J-sim shows that GRCS, when compared to the GPSR protocol, presents less energy consumption and thus achieves an obvious improvement on the network lifetime and better packets delivery ratio.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114796474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, with source routing the switches are reduced to simple forwarding devices, incapable of finding alternate paths in the event of link failures. In this paper we look at techniques to provide resiliency when packets are in transit and a network link failure occurs. Path restoration is one such mechanism wherein we use a bypass path for the failed link. Such bypass paths are stored locally on each of the switches, for all of its outgoing links. This mechanism ensures that the recovery mechanism is scalable since it avoids contacting the controller and takes local corrective measures. We have proposed two approaches for storing the bypass paths. In the first method we store the bypass path between all pairs of nodes. In the second method we store the bypass paths between few selected nodes. These node are the two hop neighbors, chosen using either the two colorable graph approach or the vertex cover approach. Our analysis shows that the second method, using the vertex cover approach reduces the total number of bypass paths stored, without compromising the resiliency. Also our solutions are topology dependent and not path dependent, allowing for most of the computations to be done proactively.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"67 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128025590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Efficient processing of enormous amounts of IoT data collected and exchanged by these devices is a key problem. Another issue is addressing information-centric IoT application data aggregation. To achieve these goals, this paper utilizes the novel Information Centric Networking (ICN) technology to define a framework for IoT in-network processing (IProIoT). The philosophy of ICN offers a perfect match with the feature of IoT applications. It regards data as the first-class entity so that all operations on data is based on its unique name rather than the address of data storage. By leveraging a flexible naming scheme, our framework implements a set of computational components to execute and optimize IoT tasks. Thus, data is processed by appropriate IoT nodes on the path to consumers. Preliminary testing has shown the feasibility of our design in reducing network traffic and round-trip delay.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126022074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a solution of the PAPR problem in OFDM systems, partial transmit sequence (PTS) scheme is quite a suitable scheme due to its PAPR reduction performance and distortion characteristic. However, high computational complexity is serious problem in the PTS scheme. In this paper, in order to reduce the computational complexity of the previous PTS schemes, efficient PTS scheme is proposed. Although the proposed PTS scheme uses dominant time-domain samples similar to some previous low-complexity PTS schemes, they utilize more efficient selection method for dominant time-domain samples. The proposed PTS scheme lowers the computational complexity compared to the previous PTS schemes while achieving the optimal PAPR reduction performance.","PeriodicalId":284480,"journal":{"name":"2017 Ninth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN)","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133901811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
