The respondents of this study were 5 teachers at the ACCESS campus of the Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), the Philippines. This study used a semi-structured interview method to obtain the necessary data which was analyzed using thematic analysis. The study revealed that teachers recognized this new mode of learning as a more comfortable and convenient way to use; however, assessing student learning and interacting with them was in general difficult. Thus, operational and psychological challenges are experienced by teachers in adapting to the new learning model. The results of the analysis revealed that SKSU administrators must provide broad assistance to all teachers, especially regarding the challenges they face at this time, besides that, teachers and students must be trained and ready to use sophisticated e-learning technology.","PeriodicalId":284207,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Journal of Science and Engineering Education","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133650115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to poll the Pakistani population on their views regarding COVID-19 vaccinations acceptance. COVID-19 vaccination acceptance among the general public in Pakistan was poor 37.8%. Multivariate analysis showed that participants who had received their Influenza vaccination in recent years are more likely to show their interest in COVID-19 vaccination acceptance. A similar pattern emerged among individuals who thought vaccinations are usually safe and showed their willingness to pay for vaccines. In contrast, individuals over 45, and those unemployed, were less likely to accept the COVID-19 vaccine. Adopting COVID-19 vaccinations was also less probable among individuals who thought there was a conspiracy behind them. Public health officials must take systematic steps to decrease vaccination apprehension and increase vaccine uptake. They should be concerned about the low rate of acceptance and the need for additional research into the underlying reasons and awareness efforts. These measures should include restoring public confidence in national health authorities and organized awareness efforts that provide clear information regarding vaccination safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing.","PeriodicalId":284207,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Journal of Science and Engineering Education","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125176163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study investigated the following questions: (1) What are the reasons why the chosen respondents believe in superstitions? (2) What are the effects of superstitions on the lives of millennials? (3) What are the perspectives of millennials nowadays on some Filipino superstitious beliefs? (4) How can superstitious beliefs affect one person’s performance and behavior? We used the qualitative method, specifically phenomenological in the research design. We conducted interviews and questionnaires. Data was recorded, analyzed, classified, and organized using necessary measurements and analyses. Believing in superstitions can be one of the basic traditions that are taught to Filipinos while they growing up. It is proven that not all millennials have forgotten the sense of believing in some Filipino superstitious beliefs. All responses from the participants had different senses of values. They also do have the same idea on how they can give back respect to our ancestors. Being superstitious can influence perspectives, giving impact to everything for making execution and decision. Indeed, it is on a specific test to the response to fake treatments. The study found out that millennials still believe in the power of superstitions based on their experiences, the traditions of their old ones, or even the ancestors. This study is an approach to clarify the understanding of superstitions in the current time.","PeriodicalId":284207,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Journal of Science and Engineering Education","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126409219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data collected were analyzed through thematic analysis. The participants were five (5) secondary students of Sultan Kudarat State University – Laboratory Science High School. This study shows that the following points were made: (1) There are a lot of ways peers can assert changes to a student’s academic performance. These can be manifested through all the statements that the participants gave to the researchers; (2) A larger number of peers can easily get a student persuaded in doing activities unrelated to their academics; (3) The length of friendship between the peers and the student matters by means of the cohesiveness of peers on the learning efficiency of a student; (4) The affiliation of peers toward the learning efficiency of students is very enormous that it plays a vital role in the things that could happen to a student’s learning at school and everywhere; (5) There are tendencies that peers can’t affect a student’s learning efficiency. These conclusions can be of help to students, parents, teachers and future researchers.","PeriodicalId":284207,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Journal of Science and Engineering Education","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122571126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implementation of online learning in grade XI quality control has constraints, in which the average learning outcomes are still gaining at a low value of 58.06 in the analysis proximate material. At the time of observation, 70% of students did not understand the topic. Some students get difficulties in discovering or constructing a solution to a problem. Thus, an appropriate learning model is needed to improve student's learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the learning cycle 5E model and discovery learning also to identify the differences in student learning outcomes between both models’ performance in the materials applying fresh milk quality standards. The research was conducted using the quasi-experimental (experiment classes used the learning cycle 5E model and control class used the discovery learning model). This study proved good analysis results. The application of the learning cycle 5E shows better results to the discovery learning model to improve student learning outcomes as evidenced by the fact that the average value of experiment classes is higher than that of the control class. The N-gain value of the experiment class is greater than that of the control class. Therefore, the learning cycle 5E model can improve students' learning outcomes.","PeriodicalId":284207,"journal":{"name":"ASEAN Journal of Science and Engineering Education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128525745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
