The antenna comprises a circular patch, 50 Ω microstrip feed line, partial ground plane with rectangular notch, and two U-shaped slots with folded arm. Predicated impedance bandwidth 2.78–12.8 GHz with dual notched stop bands 3.25–3.83 and 4.94–5.98 GHz are achieved for WiMAX and WLAN bands by cutting two U-shaped slots with folded arm on radiating patch, respectively. Furthermore, two switches are employed individually on two slots to make antenna switchable at notched stop bands. By changing the functionality of the switches, the antenna exhibits four different performances of UWB frequency range. The tactical communication depends on factors such as network characteristics, communication media resources, operational mobility, terrain etc. The key challenge is to address typical military communication network constraints such as limited bandwidth and latency, narrow effective communication range, intermittent communication links. Performance of the transport layer protocols is heavily affect by some of the link level impairments like high loss rates, long & variable delays and intermittent. Any random packet loss in the network is considered as congestion by TCP in the network and in order to overcome this congestion and packet-loss TCP employs the congestion control algorithm resulting in poor bandwidth usage of already scarce bandwidth. Similar for the intermittency the transport protocol must detect intermittencies and quickly adjust to intermittent paths it carry mission-critical data in military networks. Heterogeneous communication link (starting from High Frequencies or Very High Frequencies radio sets to satellite links) between sources to destination results is long and variable delays. The interaction of these long delays with the standard TCP slow-start and congestion-avoidance algorithms will damage the TCP performance. Manpower working in industries is mostly semi-skilled. Production output, its quality and cost are affected by energy wastage and device failure causing downtimes resulting from electrical faults and erroneuos operations. Such abnormality must be detected and reported proactively to the facility manager, who can act to avoid major losses. This paper describes the concept of detecting electrical and operational abnormality (anomaly) of loads through observing changes in electrical parameters collected by installation of energy meters. The paper proposes classification of anomalies based on their origin. Further, essential feature sets required for accurate detection of anomalies are described. To verify the concept, load data is collected from a pilot small scale manufacturing facility by installing energy meters at different load points in process lines. After preprocessing the raw data, necessary features are extracted and are subjected to classification algorithms for detecting possible anomalies. With existing techniques, the general public is not aware of the potability of water. Lack of accurate and efficient low cost systems are a reason for poor awareness on the same. This paper focuses on modelling and developing a low cost water quality testing device and analysing its performance with the currently available products. The developed device can measure the parameters like pH, Total Dissolved Solids, Conductivity and Temperature. The proposed 2D code possesses good auto correlation, minimum cross correlation, and high cardinality. The performance evaluation of OCDMA system based on 2D MGC W/T code is analyzed in terms of BER and received optical power. The simulation is validated through the use of the optisystem software. Hyperspectral imaging collects information in the form of several hundreds of spectral bands with narrow bandwidths and provides full spectral information regarding the data. Hyperspectral image classification has been a vital topic which is growing rapidly in the field of research. Several applications can be built by making proper use of this data, i.e. from the abundance of spatial and spectral information which provides strong binding to build new ideas and new algorithm. Few approaches have concluded that the linear features directly extracted from hyperspectral data for classification provides distinct classification output and few other approaches conclude that the features selected using nonlinear features help to diminish dimensionality of the data, for better modelling of the intrinsic nonlinearity of classification. By combining the spectral features extracted using Root Mean Square (RMS) feature extraction technique and spatial features extracted using Extended Multi-Attribute Profile (EMAP) feature extraction technique we can get better classification output compared to existing algorithms. The proposed algorithm utilizes both linear and nonlinear features along with a Sparse Multinomial Logistic Regression (SMLR) classifier to provide a better classification. The developed algorithm is tested over four widely used hyper spectral data sets Hydice, Aviris Indian Pines, Pavia University, and Salinas. Hence a novel approach is proposed to overcome this multiple cell upsets using error correction coding techniques. Recently, matrix computer code (MCs) based on senses of hamming codes have been proposed for computer storage protection. The main issue is that they are double error correction codes and the error correction capabilities are not improved in all cases. Decimal matrix coding (DMC) and Parity matrix coding (PMC) are the error correction coding techniques which are an extension of the matrix based hamming codes based on the divide symbol decimal algorithm with less overhead delay which will enhance the memory reliability. An error reuse technique (ERT) is used to reduce the area overhead without disturbing encoder and the decoder circuits. We derive an exact analytical expression for the end-to-end outage probability considering the effects of co-channel interference caused by inter-relay links and the echo interference at the full duplex relays in independent, non-identical Nakagami-m fading channels. We also provide a highly accurate closed form approximation for the outage probability. We make an extensive comparison of multihop full duplex relaying (FDR) and the equivalent half duplex relaying (HDR) system. The analytical results are corroborated by extensive computer simulation results. The antenna comprises of two cup-shaped mounted with T-shaped structure monopole antennas placed parallel to each other with separated ground planes. The antenna is printed on an FR4 substrate of size 40 mm × 40 mm, both the antennas are fed with 50 Ω microstrip lines. The antenna operates at two WLAN bands including the IEEE 802.11 2.4 GHz (2.4–2.484 GHz) and 5.2 GHz (5.15–5.35 GHz). The isolation between the two antennas is provided by a microstrip line in ground plane separating the two antenna elements. The proposed antenna with compact size, simple design and good diversity performance as the value of envelope correlation coefficient remains below 0.003 in both the bands of operation is good for MIMO applications. In paper, we have designed and simulated the printed metamaterial encumbered monopole antenna for dual-band navigation applications. We have also carried out the parametric studies varying with various antenna dimensions. We have also observed that defected ground structure has been improved the return loss performance.
