As communication is highly context and culture specific, this study included participants from Germany and India. To meet these research aims, we conducted focus group discussions (FGD) with overall 50 graduate students with work experiences from Germany and India. We identified key dimensions of informative, empathic and participatory change communication that are of high importance for change recipients. The German and Indian participants had similar expectations regarding the informative and empathic dimensions of change communication. However, interestingly, their assessment of the actual participation differed substantially, with consequences for their emotional responses. The findings emphasise the crucial role of supervisors’ communication for employees’ emotions in times of change. Supervisors thereby need to consider the diverse dimensions of their communication and stimulate employees’ expectations regarding information, empathy and participation with different communicative activities and approaches. This study provides important insights into organisational change communication by analysing its key dimensions, linking it to employees’ emotions and considering the cultural context.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"37 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116556001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The attempt to survey these areas in an integrated fashion is a novel approach that differs from existing studies which mainly focus on adoption factors of these technologies in isolation as well as focuses on the security elements as an extension as Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The empirical results from the quantitative analysis suggest that security, perceived usefulness as well as perceived ease of use are significant factors that contribute to consumers’ intention to utilise a single platform payment system. Organisations will be able to utilise the study information for developing products and services that meet the consumers’ single platform e-payment system while also fulfilling their objective of corporate social responsibility.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130160264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results are derived from secondary data collected from websites, newsletters and annual reports of the companies. Three natural disasters were taken for the study from the year 2013–15. It is observed that most of the companies have been engaged in disaster relief activities for social and ethical reasoning. These activities included financial help, stake holder consultation and partnerships with NGOs, non-profit organizations (NPOs) and the government. Corporations also help in disaster management simply by engaging in their regular business. This study analyzes the role of corporations in natural disasters from a corporate social responsibility (CSR) perspective and discusses the possible way of coping with natural disasters by Indian companies. The research findings will be very useful for Indian companies, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and Government, after the enactment of Companies Act 2013. It would be very helpful for normalcy of human life and business. It analyses only top 100 Indian company’s contribution. It lacks the reflections of the other countries.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128779147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In international business industry, competitiveness is required to enhance the performance of individual organisations. Following post-positivism epistemology, a multi-case study approach has been employed in this study. The unit of analysis is the network consisting of manufacture, supplier and the customer. Two such units of apparel manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka and two units from textile manufacturing industry in Taiwan were selected. This study establishes the link between servitised industry and national competitive advantage. The collaboration with suppliers, indirect competitors and other partners were identified as critical factors to differentiate a business-to-business (B2B) manufacturing industry in an international business.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130566096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impeding factors include the high initial investment requirement and the high cost of implementation thus rendering the solutions unaffordable. The small and tiny manufacturing sector with its lower potential to tap into the scale economies find themselves constrained to reap the benefits of automation. The lack of technical ongoing support and training contributed by their exorbitance and inaccessibility adds to this impedance and deters the long-term sustenance of the solution. This article attempts to elucidate a remedy that partly resolves these impeding factors by assimilating the merits of an implementation model. The model was tested out in a few projects, one of which is elaborated here. The research methodology adopted is a mix of participatory action research and agile model of implementation. The authors were actively involved as drivers of this automation solution. The article validates and offers a remedy for scenarios where the mentioned factors are relevant. Conclusively, it underlines adherence to an implementation model for the project’s successful implementation and for the sustenance of such implementations.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134195187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Singh, Neha Nainwal","doi":"10.1177/2319510X18767714","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1177/2319510X18767714","url":null,"abstract":"One of the prominent views is that development in a stock market has a positive impact on economic growth. The role of the stock market becomes important as it leads to capital formation in an economy which is used for producing goods and services in it, leading to growth in the real sector. However, it is only possible if the stock market is efficient enough to mobilise saving from a deficit spender unit to a surplus spender unit. Therefore, our study proposes to estimate the determinant of stock efficiency with the help of a fully modified ordinary least-squares model. The result of the analysis indicates that although both the risk-free interest rate and market capitalisation have a positive and significant impact on stock return, the impact of market capitalisation is larger. In terms of dynamic analysis, the error correction model shows that the speed of adjustment is around 50 per cent or time taken for re-establishing the long-run equilibrium is about two years. As market capitalisation is one of the important determinants of the efficiency of a stock market, the government should bring new reforms in the capital and money markets so that new financial innovations can be introduced in the market. Simultaneously, the regulation should be made to provide higher protection to the investor which further helps them to increase their confidence in the market.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128328819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Organisations always preferred to outsource their supply chain and logistics operations to third-party logistics (3PL) for the purpose of timely delivery and better service quality. This article aimed to find out the key parameters that affect the quality of services provided by 3PL to the organisations. Assets, processes and services are the three broader categories desired by organisations at the time of selection of best 3PL. The evaluation of parameters under these categories has been done by using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) and the ranking of parameters may help the organisations to make the best decision regarding selection of best 3PL among all the available alternatives.","PeriodicalId":283517,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121609514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
