References 1-12 below present this in further detail. The principle purpose of the current publication is to detail the increasing relevance of war to medicine and surgery. The increasing relevance to the physics departments is also discussed. Both medicine and physics have been prestigious fields for some period. USA and Russia perhaps standout as two areas with both medicine and space exploration as key areas of research and development, in addition to both countries appearing as often leaders in the global environment. The application of quantum physics (advanced physics) to medicine and surgery appears to be the future pathway for the profession as detailed by the current author in recent conference proceedings and publications [1-5]. The current author anticipates the increasing interest in physics in the medical faculties as perhaps changing physiology to the study of physics (with biology as a separate branch) as discussed particularly [2].","PeriodicalId":283483,"journal":{"name":"Surgical Medicine Open Access Journal","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134261466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Persaud et al [3] first described it in 1968. The first case of tubular adenoma of the breast studied by aspiration cytology and light and electron microscopy was done by Moross et al [4]. Typically, it affects young women in their reproductive ages (15-49 years) rarely before menarche or after menopause [5]. It is interesting to note that few cases have been reported in literature. Tubular adenomas typically affect the upper and outer quadrant of the breast. Comparatively whereas lactating adenomas are strongly associated with pregnancy or oral contraceptive pills (OCPs), tubular adenomas have no such associations [6,7].","PeriodicalId":283483,"journal":{"name":"Surgical Medicine Open Access Journal","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123720237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From cave paintings to modern day society, art has been used as to tell a story, document history and provide a voice when words have become lost. We would not have the knowledge of our past had it not been for art. Medically and psychologically, art is often used for self-expression, to find an inner release and explore the process of creativity through physical and emotional pain and healing. For persons with neurocognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), where memory, judgement, and reasoning are disrupted, art has been able to unlock memories thought to be lost, improve behaviors i.e. agitation, depression, and give insight into what the person may be feeling or thinking. Take for example famed artist, Willem de Kooning, some art experts may argue his brilliance as an artist was not fully recognized until his paintings became more rudimentary and abstract. What many do not know is that de Kooning was in the throes of Alzheimer’s disease during his fame (Figure 1).","PeriodicalId":283483,"journal":{"name":"Surgical Medicine Open Access Journal","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129299038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material and Methods: The literature on ARDS and physiological law of starling is critically analyzed revealing the multiple errors and misconceptions prevailing in fluid therapy. Recent reports on VOS in the patho-etiology of ARDS are summarized. Results: The literature on ARDS and physiological law of starling is critically analyzed revealing multiple errors and misconceptions. Starling’s law is wrong as both of its forces do not work as proposed. Errors have been corrected and the hydrodynamics of porous orifice G tube are advanced as replacement for Starling’s law. The evidence confirmed VOS induced by sodium-based fluids is the real patho-etiology of ARDS. Conclusion: The critical literature analysis on ARDS and physiological law of Starling rectified many errors and misconceptions. The hydrodynamics of the G tube in a surrounding chamber C that mimics capillary-interstitial compartment shows a magnetic fluid shaped phenomenon that gives a real replacement for Starling’s law for the capillary-interstitial fluid transfer. The VOS proved to be the real patho-etiology of ARDS.","PeriodicalId":283483,"journal":{"name":"Surgical Medicine Open Access Journal","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125569638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
