Elliptic curve cryptography, as a variant of public key cryptography, has been extensively used in the last decades for such purposes. In this paper, we present a software tool for parallel generation of cryptographic keys based on elliptic curves. Binary method for point multiplication and C++ threads were used in parallel implementation, while secp256k1 elliptic curve was used for testing. Obtained results show speedup of 30% over the sequential solution for 8 threads. The results are briefly discussed in the paper.","PeriodicalId":277553,"journal":{"name":"2022 30th Telecommunications Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130146685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To provide reassurance that any airborne radiation is within safe levels, a new Wireless Air Monitoring System for monitoring the material’s radioactivity in real-time has been proposed. The goal is to improve safety by downloading readings instantaneously and as a result, avoid potential events caused by possible signal latency. The current system and associated communication techniques are outdated as equipment is expensive, fixed, and most importantly, employ a method which could result in delay. Signal delays for these systems could be fatal in the case of an unlikely event occurring at a nuclear site. This paper proposes an air pollution monitoring system, based on the technology of using a low-cost, sensor node which automatically uploads data to the Internet of Things (IoT). This proposes that the designed node will replace the nuclear air monitoring system which is currently employed at various sites and surrounding areas. The measurements discussed herewith, provide evidence of the utility of using the inexpensive IoT Nano and illustrate its effectiveness for detection of the percentage of radioactivity.","PeriodicalId":277553,"journal":{"name":"2022 30th Telecommunications Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130222596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Europe, around 11% of the buildings already have heat pumps installed, but there is still a lack of optimization of their usage profile to maintain the thermal comfort of the buildings and the equipment efficiency. Moreover, buildings with photovoltaic (PV) energy generation have additional flexibility that can be explored, but the operational complexity also increases, which makes finding the optimal profile to enhance self-consumption challenging. Techniques for energy optimization and building modeling can help to identify the best energy profile in an automated way, facilitated by IoT devices and advanced communication infrastructure. The objective of this paper is to provide a framework to perform autonomous demand response control actions and demonstrate a use case for improving the usage of heat pumps. This includes the data to be collected for the simulation of thermal patterns and to create the optimal curve of energy usage in two real scenarios. The achievements of this study show that remote access to the system data can allow for enhanced energy usage, through the utilization of building modeling and electric energy optimization models.","PeriodicalId":277553,"journal":{"name":"2022 30th Telecommunications Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128869388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wireless sensor networks are suitable to sense, monitor and report such events in remote or inaccessible locations. Hazardous events are rare compared to the network’s lifetime, thus maintaining it’s consistency must be realized energy efficiently. During the impact the network must monitor the event with an appropriate precision, and report the occurrence to the user, while mitigating the loss of destroyed nodes by the very same event.To fulfill these requirements, we propose the Self-healing Multipath Routing Protocol that is based on the Heterogeneous Disjoint Multipath Routing Protocol and introduces several application-specific extensions to improve network stability, resiliency and failover. To realize the monitoring of spatially extended hazardous events we also introduce an event-based, application-level protocol.To evaluate the proposed routing protocol, we perform simulations in the OMNET++/Castalia framework, utilizing a cellular automation based wildfire model as the spatial event and provide measurement results including delivery ratio, consumed energy and protocol specific metrics.","PeriodicalId":277553,"journal":{"name":"2022 30th Telecommunications Forum (TELFOR)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126635808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
