The memory occupancy can be reduced and coding efficiency can be improved through four measures adopted in the process of coding. This four measures are: (1) code LLn sub-band separately; (2) create bit-length chart in terms of bit-length defined by the author; (3) employ bit-length chart instead of using lists in the process of fining and ranking to reduce memory occupancy; (4) quick search key blocks according to the structure of bit-length chart to overcome repeat scan and increase coding speed. According to the experimental results, the algorithm can reduce memory occupancy in the process of coding and increase the coding speed effectively. Meanwhile, it can achieve high PSNR. It makes wavelet coding more applicable and available in single chip hardware system.","PeriodicalId":275193,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Pacific-Asia Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Application","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114672591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three major statistical features are used: (i) bit allocation for intra mode macroblocks (BIM), (ii) bit allocation for inter mode macroblocks (BPM), and (iii) the number of skip mode macroblocks in a frame. These features can be easily extracted from the H.264/AVC bitstreams. Besides the percent of skip macroblocks in a frame, an adaptive threshold based on the ratio of BIM to BPM is used to determine the abrupt and the gradual scene changes respectively. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm achieves the good performance with a low computational complexity.","PeriodicalId":275193,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Pacific-Asia Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Application","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116307565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the ACO algorithm needs considerable computational time and resources when the complexity of the problem increases. Parallel implementing is a good ideal to speedup it. A new parallel ant colony optimization (PACO) algorithm is presented, which has the characteristics of coarse-granularity interacting multiant colonies, partially asynchronous parallel implementation and a new information exchange strategy. The code is written in C and MPI and the main application has been executed on the dawn 4000 L parallel computer. We evaluate the PACO algorithm proposed in this paper by study the convergence speed, parallel size scalability and problem size scalability of it. The numerical results indicate that: (1) the PACO algorithm can construct solution better than the sequential ACO (SACO) algorithm and converge faster then SACO; (2) more computational nodes can reduce the computational time obviously and obtain significant speedup; (3) the PACO algorithm is more efficient for the large scale traveling salesman problem with fine quality of solution.","PeriodicalId":275193,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Pacific-Asia Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Application","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129504045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the past research, spectral method (SM) and modified moving average (MMA) are the main detection algorithms. TWA is a very weak signal and its detection is very difficult, especially in ambulatory electrocardiogram (AECG). In this paper, the strength and weakness are discussed firstly. Then based on MMA, a new detection algorithm is proposed. Only S-T-P sections are clustered to create odd and even complexes. The Euclidean distance between two complexes is considered as the matric of TWA level. Particle filter is an effective nonlinear filtering algorithm in nonlinear and non-Gaussian state space. According to the characteristics of underwater bearings-only passive target tracking, the particle filter algorithm used in nonlinear problems of underwater bearings-only passive target tracking has been proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm can overcome the shortcomings of easy divergence, low tracking accuracy and large error in conventional linearized methods such as EKF and UKF. Computer simulation results demonstrate that the particle filter has enhanced the stability of the filtering, and has better tracking accuracy than EKF and UKF algorithm. It has received good results.","PeriodicalId":275193,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Pacific-Asia Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Industrial Application","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115279722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
