Seedlings were grown in plastic pots 30 cm, filled with loamy sand soil. Seedlings were irrigated every week with saline two type’s salts (NaCl and CaCl) at two levels 2g and 4g L. Seedlings were sprayed with foliar spraying containing NPK. Two months later from transplanting of seedlings leaf samples were taken for determination nutrient contents. The result showed that NPK foliar spraying had a positive effect on soil, growth development, yield and the nutrient concentrations in leaf plant of tomato under the impact of adverse salinity. Although the salts levels of soil have an effect on the absorption of nutrients by tomato plant. But, foliar spraying has a positive effect on the concentration of N, K, Ca, Fe, Mn and Cu in plant leaves.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127925279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Turkey). The effects of the treatments on the growth, yield and plant nutrient contents of shoots and fruits were determined. The results showed that using T1,T7, T8, T9, T10 and T11enhanced significantly vegetative growth characters (plant height cm, No. leaves/plant, No. of branches/plant, leaf area index cm, shoot, root fresh and dry weights and nutritional status of plants in leaves and fruits) except T2, T3 gave the highest values in chlorophyll reading of leaves. From data it is obvious that T4 gave the lowest mean values of the given characters. Treatments contained Halex-2 and seaweed increased significantly all morphological characteristics and qualities of okra. The treatments (T7, T9, T10 andT12) lead to increase mineral contents, vitamin C and T.S.S. of fruits compared with T4 treatment. The highest values of total yield were achieved by T9 compared with T4. The use of T1, T8 and T9 were also increased mean values of the No. of fruits/plant, fruit length, fruit diameter and average fruit weight significantly compared with other treatments. This study demonstrated the possibility of producing a good yield of okra safe and healthy without any applying chemical fertilizers via integration of compost, Halex-2 and Seaweed algae as a Clean Agriculture technique.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"08 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128529474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inst. Giza, Qassaseen Ismaelia and Khatatba) in Egypt on the middle of November, 2016. Triacylglycerol (TAG) compositions were studied. As purity parameters, triacylglycerol composition in the oil samples was determined according to International Olive Council. All types of oils were characterized by three main TAG: OOO + PLP + PoPP, SOL + POO and OOL + LnPP and six secondary TAG: SLL+PLO, SOO, POP, OLL, OOLn + PoOL, and POS + SLS. Furthermore, small amounts (<1.0%) of seven TAG: PLL + PoPoO, PoOP + SpoL + SOLn + SpoPo, OLLn + PoLL, LLL, PoOO, PLLn and POLn + PpoPO + PpoL were also identified in all analyzed samples. OOO was the major TAG found in all varieties from all areas, presented a range from 30.32 to 32.90%. Followed by POO triacylglyceride, which presented a range from 26.45 to 28.36%. Then OOL came in the following representing a range from 12.00 to 13.91%. Results revealed that, there were significant differences among varieties in our study in terms of TAG contents. Moreover, these results are in accordance with those found in the fatty acid composition. At the same time significant differences were clearly found in POO, LLL TAG beside ECN42 values obtained by HPLC analysis.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129102465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The samples which were studied collected from Siwa Oasis and Desert Rood region were examined for physical and chemical properties (acidity, peroxide value, ultraviolet spectrophotometric analysis K232 and K270, fatty acids composition and total phenol content. Olive oil was analyzed for fatty acids commonly present in olive oils which are Palmitic, Palmitoleic, Stearic, Oleic, Linoleic, Linolenic, and Arachidic. Oleic acid was found in high percentage ranged from (71.63% in FOOS cultivar up to 76.00% in MOOD), followed by Palmitic, Linoleic, Stearic, Palmitoleic, and Linolenic. Arachidic acid was detected in all olive oil samples but in low percentage. Oxidative stability by Rancimat method and phenolic compositions by HPLC, were analyzed for each oil samples. Small differences were detected depending on the growing area. In general the main phenolic compound (Oleuropein, Hydroxytyrosol, p-Coumaric and Tyrosol), were present in higher levels in the oil obtained from olive oils under this studied. Big difference was observed for total polyphenols content within the cultivars, total polyphenols of MOOD cultivar olive oil was the highest (211.05 mg/ kg oil) while the lowest (139.31 mg/kg oil) was in the COOS cultivar. Resistance to oxidation was assessed by Rancimat method and showed a good correlation with the amount of total phenols. Also, results of the quality indices (free acidity, peroxide value, k 232 , k 270 and sensory analysis) revealed that, all the analyzed oils were classified into extra virgin category according to IOC 2011 (Trade standard for olive oil). Also, results showed that small differences of quality indices between olive oil samples extracted from five varieties under investigation. showed higher perception of bitterness and fruity than the oils growing in Siwa Oasis. These obtained results demonstrated that there was a good correlation between total polyphenol content and sensory properties of the olive oil. This is confirmed by observations of (Kiritsakis et al., 1998).","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"274 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116829944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study is to study the dual effect of turmeric utilization as an antimicrobial and an antioxidant. In addition its roles in improving the quality of fish sausage properties during frozen storage at -18 ° C, which improving the shelf life and producing a healthy product. The obtained results indicated that in most estimates fish sausage samples contained 0.0, 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2% turmeric powder showed no significant differences with respect to TBA values in zero time, while significant differences(p < 0.05) were detected among the stored samples at -18 °C for 30, 60 and 90 days .There was, also found a significant increase in the number of milligrams malonaldehyde/kg of sausage during 90 days of storage at -18 °C in all samples, but the turmeric fish sausage samples contained fewer milligrams of malonaldehyde than the control sample: (0.0% turmeric). The microbiological analysis (total number of bacteria, coliform bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, yeasts and fungi) indicated a significant decrease in log10 cfu/g values with in storage period of 90 days at -18°C. The control sample (0% turmeric powder) had the highest total bacterial count value of fish sausage samples after 30 days storage at -18 °C, while the total bacterial count values were gradually decreased as the turmeric powder concentration was increased during storage at -18°C for 90 days. After 60 days of storage, the untreated samples (control: 0.0% turmeric powder) had the highest value (log10 cfu/g) for Staphylococcus aureus compared to samples contained different concentrations of turmeric powder.The sensory properties of fish sausage indicated that all samples treated with turmeric powder had higher significant differences in taste and overall acceptability compared to untreated samples.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114369040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
