It can impair the growth and production performance of olives. Many investigations recommended spraying Lithovit to reduce the effect of water stress. We believe that we have designed an innovative solution to follow up the effect of spraying Lithovit (Ca CO3 & Mg CO3) on olive trees which exposure to different irrigation levels. Four concentrations of Lithovit were sprayed on olive (Olea europaea var. Manzanello) trees (0, 2, 4 and 6 g/L) under three irrigation levels (50, 75 and 100% of evapotranspiration for crop “ETc”) during 2017, 2018 seasons. Strong evidence of irrigation at 75% of ETc was found on olive growth, blooming and fruit setting. It was the best irrigation level to balance between vegetative growth and blooming. Moreover, there were significant variations between spraying Lithovit at 2 g/L and other concentrations on Blooming and fruit setting. Furthermore, the interaction between spraying Lithovit and irrigation levels cleared that spraying Lithovit at 2g/L and irrigation at 75% of ETc enhanced blooming and fruit setting. On the other hand irrigation at 100% of ETc with spraying Lithovit at 2g/L improved the vegetative characteristics.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124847396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This solution is now widely used by the vegan community and egg allergens as an egg replacer. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality and possibility of egg white substitute with aquafaba in sponge cake. Physical characteristics, chemical composition and sensory properties of the cake samples were evaluated. The results demonstrated that foaming capacity values of aquafaba were 389.33% and egg white was 582.66%. Foam stability values were 85.49 % and 92.28 % in aquafaba and egg white, respectively. Water and oil absorption capacity of the aquafaba and egg white were 2.66 g/g 1.32 g/g, 2.94 g/g and 1.99g/g, respectively. The replacing of egg white by aquafaba did not greatly affect physicochemical parameters of the sponge cake made by using egg white. The cake made with aquafaba was slightly less moist than cake made with egg white (21.67%and 22.79%), had less height (4.21 and 4.47 cm), lower volume index (11.25 and 11.65 cm) and lower pH (7.95 and 8.02). Baking weight loss in aquafaba cake is 11.47% higher than egg white cake 9.09%. Sensory evaluation of aquafaba cake samples showed an acceptance and no negative effects in overall properties. The texture profile analysis of cakes prepared with aquafaba showed less hardness. The mineral composition (Zn, Cu, Mn, Ca, Fe, Mg and P) showed a high amount in aquafaba compared with egg white cake therefor, it could be is concluded that aquafaba is beneficial when instead of with egg white in eggless cake recipes.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127277550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results cleared that, the tested fertilizers were influenced target parameters of N. sativa plants significantly. The high means of plant height, root length, branches, roots and inflorescences numbers, fresh weight of plant (with and without fruit), fruit, root and 100 seeds; chemical components of, N, P, K, Carbohydrates, Volatile oil and Fixed oil; Also, the high values of Lauric, Myristi, Palmitic, Stearic, Oleic, Linoleic, Linolenic and Eicosadienoic fatty acids were recorded for plants received humic acid and/or Nitrobeen under the level of 75 % NPK. The results of pests infested N. sativa plants revealed highly significant differences (P ≤ 0.01) between its mean numbers due to variation in rates and types of fertilizers. The lowest mean numbers of dominant pests were recorded for E. decipiens, A. gossypii, B. tabaci and T. tabaci, N.viridula , O. hyalinipenni and H. armigera on N. sativa plants received same previous treatments. Also, the mean numbers of inspected pests were correlated significantly with plant height and branches number. According to these results, mineral fertilizers could be managed with bio and organic fertilizers for producing good yield and tolerant black cumin plants to pest's infestation to avoid bad side effects of agrochemicals with the aim to get safe foods","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128790951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The chosen Washington navel orange trees (Citrus sinensis L.) Osbek, budded on sour orange rootstock were ten-year-old, spaced at 5 × 5 meters and grown in clay soil, under flooding irrigation system in a private orchard located at Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, Egypt. The results showed that each phonological stage (root activation, spring flush, flowering and color break) as well as the actual starting dates for each phase recorded more heat units in the second season than the first season, subsequently, the starting dates of each phase was earlier in the second season than first season except in case of color break. With respect to correlation between fibrous root growth and the temperature during both studied seasons, it is obvious that there was strong correlation between either number or weight of roots and soil temperature in both studied seasons. Regarding yield and fruit quality attribute, it is apparent that yield and fruit quality attribute were affected by the changes in the climatic conditions for each season.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122740835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main results could be summarized as follows: Misr-1 cultivar exceed Sids-1 cultivar in grain yield and its components significantly except grain yield (ton/fed.) and harvest index%. Addition of 75kg N/feddan (ammonia gas 82%) resulted in a significant increment in yield and its components except harvest index% comparison with other treatments (control and 50 kg N/ feddan). The application of organic fertilizer at the rate of 15 ton/ feddan significantly increased yield and its components, except harvest index%. The interaction between wheat cultivars and nitrogen fertilizer was significant yield and its components except grain index (g), straw yield ton/feddan, protein percentage and carbohydrate percentage, while the interaction between wheat cultivars and organic fertilizer was significant in all characters under study except number of tillers/m 2 , grain index and straw yield (ton/ feddan). The interaction between nitrogen fertilizer and organic fertilizer was significant in all characters under study except number of spikes/ m 2 and straw yield (ton/ feddan). It is clear from results that the interaction between wheat cultivars x nitrogen fertilizer x organic fertilizer was significant in all characters under study except number of spikes/ m 2 , straw yield (ton/ feddan) and protein percentage%. The most effective treatment were obtain by using Misr-1 cultivar +75 kg N / fed., + 15 ton / fed., organic fertilizer.","PeriodicalId":273673,"journal":{"name":"Middle East Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"201 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122872033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
