In a common filter-based feature selection scheme, unique scores are assigned to features; then, these features are sorted according to their scores. The last step is to add the top-N features to the feature set. In this paper, we propose an improved global feature selection scheme wherein its last step is modified to obtain a more representative feature set. The proposed method aims to improve the classification performance of global feature selection methods by creating a feature set representing all classes almost equally. For this purpose, a local feature selection method is used in the proposed method to label features according to their discriminative power on classes; these labels are used while producing the feature sets. Experimental results obtained using the well-known 20 Newsgroups and Reuters-21578 datasets with the k-nearest neighbor algorithm and a support vector machine indicate that the proposed method improves the classification performance in terms of a widely known metric (F₁).","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. Noting that quantizers at nodes should operate in a non-regular framework where multiple codewords or quantization partitions can be mapped from a single measurement to improve the system performance, we propose a low-weight estimation algorithm that finds the most feasible combination of codewords. This combination is found by computing the weighted sum of the possible combinations whose weights are obtained by counting their occurrence in a learning process. Otherwise, tremendous complexity will be inevitable due to multiple codewords or partitions interpreted from non-regular quantized data. We conduct extensive experiments to demonstrate that the proposed algorithm provides a statistically significant performance gain with low complexity as compared to typical estimation techniques.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. Its energy recycling capacitor array stores the energy during a charge stage and supplies the voltage during an energy recycle stage even after the power source is disconnected. The converter reconfigures the capacitor array step-wise to boost the lost voltage level during the energy recycle stage. Its energy saving is particularly effective when most of the energy remaining in the charge capacitors is wasted by the leakage current during a longer sleep period. Simulations have been conducted using a voltage source of 500 mV to supply a V DD of around 800 mV to a load circuit consisting of four 32-bit adders in a 65-nm CMOS process. Results demonstrate energy recycling efficiency of 85.86% and overall energy saving of 40.14% compared to a conventional converter, when the load circuit is shortly active followed by a long sleep period.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. The proposed antenna consists of a polygon slot with a 50-Ω feed line. The effects of various parameters of the polygon-shaped slot and the polygon tuning stub on UWB applications are investigated. The optimum parameters were obtained using the Ansys HFSS software. The results of the studies on the surface current distributions of the operating frequency bands were discussed. The proposed antenna is fabricated on an inexpensive FR-4 substrate with the overall dimensions of 28.0 mm × 30.0 mm. The measured results confirm that the proposed antenna covers frequencies from 2.58 GHz to 13.27 GHz, which is the UWB frequency range. Further, the proposed UWB antenna also exhibited that omni-directionality in the H-plane gain varied from 1.185 to 7.246 dBi. The good antenna characteristics of the proposed antenna make it suitable for UWB system applications.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. Inform. and Commun. It is intuitively appealing that information about the viewing preferences in terms of movie genres is sufficient for predicting a genre of an unlabeled movie. In order to predict movie genres, we treat ratings as a feature vector, apply a Bernoulli event model to estimate the likelihood of a movie being assigned a certain genre, and evaluate the posterior probability of the genre of a given movie by using the Bayes rule. The goal of the proposed technique is to efficiently use movie ratings for the task of predicting movie genres. In our approach, we attempted to answer the question: “Given the set of users who watched a movie, is it possible to predict the genre of a movie on the basis of its ratings?” The simulation results with MovieLens 1M data demonstrated the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed technique, achieving an 83.8% prediction rate for exact prediction and 84.8% when including correlated genres.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. To reduce the size of the hybrid ring coupler, we used multiple open stubs on the inside of the ring structure. The chip size of the reduced hybrid ring coupler with multiple open stubs was decreased by 62% compared with the area of the hybrid ring coupler without open stubs. Performance in terms of the loss, isolation, and phase difference characteristics exhibited no significant change after the use of the multiple open stubs on the inside of the ring structure. The reduced hybrid ring coupler showed excellent coupling loss of 3.87±0.33 dB and transmission loss of 3.77±0.72 dB in the measured frequency range of 90–100 GHz. The isolation and reflection were −48 dB and −32 dB at 94 GHz, respectively. The phase differences between two output ports were 180°±1° at 94 GHz.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. This adds an additional design complexity and makes variation estimation and full-chip optimization even more challenging. In this paper, we show that the industry standard on-chip variation (AOCV) tables cannot be applied directly to 3D paths that are spanning multiple dies. We develop a new machine learning-based model and methodology for an accurate variation estimation of logic paths in 3D designs. Our model makes use of key parameters extracted from existing GDSII 3D IC design and sign-off simulation database. Thus, it requires no runtime overhead when compared to AOCV analysis while achieving an average accuracy of 90% in variation evaluation. By using our model in a full-chip variation-aware 3D IC physical design flow, we obtain up to 16% improvement in critical path delay under variations, which is verified with detailed Monte Carlo simulations.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. The fading channel is modeled as a frequency non-selective slow Rician fading channel corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). QAPM is available to improve BER performance without amplifying transmit power, and MRC diversity makes the performance improvement of QAPM system even bigger by intentionally maximizing SNR. Error performances are shown for the 32-QAPM system and a 32-phase silence shift keying (PSSK) system in order to examine the effects of fading severity, for various values of the Rician parameter, K. The dependence of error rates on MRC diversity is also analyzed. The simulation results show that the BER performance of the 32-QAPM system is better than that of the 32-PSSK system under the above mentioned conditions.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. The proposed antenna consists of a square loop, circular sectors, and an MS line. The square loop combined with circular sectors is printed on one side of a substrate, and a 75-Ω MS line is printed on the other side. The circular sectors are used as a wideband balun or transition to connect the MS line and the square loop. A prototype of the proposed square loop antenna operating in the DTV band (470–806 MHz) is designed and fabricated on an FR4 substrate. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna has the desired impedance characteristics in the frequency band of 464–1,220 MHz (89.8%) for a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of <2 covering the DTV band, and a broadside gain of 0.8–3.3 dBi in the DTV band.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J. However, the current RCS detection methods are based only on a virus vaccine. Therefore, if the user’s smartphone is infected by a brand new RCS, these methods cannot detect this new RCS immediately. In this paper, we present a secure message transmission medium. This medium is completely isolated from networks and can communicate securely through a QR code channel by using symmetric key cryptography such as the AES block cipher and public key cryptography such as elliptic curve cryptography for providing security. Therefore, the RCS cannot detect any confidential information. This approach is completely immune to any RCS attacks. Furthermore, we present a secure QR code-based key exchange protocol by using the elliptic curve Diffie–Hellman method and message transmission protocols; the proposed protocol has high usability and is very secure.","PeriodicalId":272551,"journal":{"name":"J.
