Borrowed from the field of e-commerce, several models were proposed and tested in the literature to evaluate users' adoption of e-government services in different contexts. This chapter examines users' satisfaction with e-government services in Qatar reflected by the cost, opportunity, benefit, and risk of using these e-services. After a quick review on research works done on evaluating e-government services in the Middle East region, quantitative data collected from three e-government services in Qatar is presented and analyzed using structural equation modelling techniques. Results revealed that while the hypotheses linking cost and opportunity to satisfaction were rejected, benefits and risk were significantly able to explain the level of users' satisfaction with e-government services.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126827395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using information reported by patients about their experience and about the importance of certain aspects of primary care, a new measurement instrument is built: the w-HEALTHQUAL. It allows to adequately measuring patients' satisfaction with primary healthcare and is used to identify different areas of satisfaction in the health map of the Spanish region of Extremadura by means of a two-stage cluster analysis. Three groups of patients that differ between them in patients' level of satisfaction are identified, allowing for the categorization of each the centers in the region based on the satisfaction level of the patients they treat. The analysis suggests that a different distribution of healthcare may be needed so that a more effective healthcare can be delivered.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125190757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intelligence organizations support the policy process because policymakers and decision-makers constantly need tailored and timely intelligence that will provide background, context, information, and warning, as well as an assessment of the risks, benefits, and the likely outcomes. They avoid strategic unexpected threats, forces, events, and developments that are capable of threatening a nation's existence and provide long-term expertise and stability to political appointees and decision-makers. They maintain the secrecy of information, needs, and methods from disclosure to competitors or counterparts. Government agencies are allowed by law to obtain information through interception and other technical measures. This chapter focuses on the intelligence collection, the different sectors of applications, and methods.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124343403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Education policy in the Czech Republic and Hungary is examined, along with how the education system worked under communism. Specific attention is paid to how socioeconomics and party loyalty affected people's educational opportunities. The role of more informal education such as participation in the pioneers program is also examined. It is concluded that civic education is vital for a country to be a fully functioning democracy.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"218 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122772706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This chapter proposes the analysis of the fields that encompass the use of artificial intelligence in universities using teaching innovation strategies. The chapter identifies the skills and examples that teachers should understand in order to use artificial intelligence to improve their teaching methods. With this objective, seven interviews have been carried out with university professors in which they explain the use of artificial intelligence and the need to acquire technical knowledge relative to teaching innovation. The results of the research present the main uses and the knowledge needed for university teachers to be able to carry out teaching innovation tasks using artificial intelligence. Finally, implications for university-industry and university teachers are discussed.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121578649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implementation of new technologies in urban areas facilitate these changes. For that reason, decision-making processes in urban management have changed significantly in recent decades. At present, artificial intelligence and the supporting data infrastructures represent a new urban paradigm where city governance must attend to proper urban development while considering its citizens' opinions. However, AI requires continuous data collection to feed the algorithms. Collecting this data may raise privacy issues that vulnerate citizens' rights and personal data. Even if Europe and its member states possess highly protective privacy laws, this is still a significant concern for many citizens in urban decision-making processes. This chapter collects the European legal framework regarding AI data infrastructures and the European Green Deal to measure their potential impact on urban transformation. Also, the relationship between fundamental urban principles and the city-governance are analysed.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131761689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mixed-use approach was adopted in development strategies for two global examples in this chapter. This study sheds light on the unplanned generated mixed-use axes in upper middle class residential zones in Cairo, the paradigm in which they have been formed and the factors leading to the current mixed-use axes, and their effects on the quality of life for the same urban contexts, how might the stakeholders' needs be achieved without urban deterioration, how these axes could be creative places, and the importance of community involvement in urban development and management processes. A field survey of three local case studies will answer these inquiries in this chapter. Expected results will set guidelines for mixed-use axes in upper middle class residential zones to enhance the quality of life. These guidelines could be applied to transform/design the existing/new cities to be creative cities.","PeriodicalId":271918,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Electronic Government, Digital Divide, and Regional Development","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130503392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
