For this reason, it is very difficult for a user to know what spatial service could satisfy his/her needs. The SDI community now demands an approach for integrating SDI services and relating them with semantic features. In order to contribute to a solution, in this paper we propose an approach based on IR (Information Retrieval) for building a search engine which helps users to find geographical information, available on the Internet, about different concepts located in a particular administrative division. In our approach, a novel algorithm updates an inverted index, taking into account semantic relationships between concepts which are obtained from ontologies. In order to facilitate this integration, most e-learning platforms depict their functionality in terms of web services. However, the availability of these services in every platform is very heterogeneous. In addition, every platform follows its own philosophy when designing its services. This paper analyses three of the most successful e-learning platforms (Blackboard, Moodle and Sakai), identifying their web services, and comparing their readiness for the development of a virtual campus based on these services. To overcome this we propose using a least squares filter before carrying out the interpolation. This results in a good compromise between the smoothness of the curve and the best fit to the original contour. Representing the contour with a continuous model instead of a discrete model has many advantages for carrying out calculations, as for example the contour curvature, which involves first and second order derivatives, as well as operations that are not well defined in the discrete world. We also present a new way of calculating FIR approximations to filters based on B-splines. The great advantage of this approximation in the case of least squares filter is that it does not need downsampling. The paper also presents the results of a systematic literature review on Web 2.0 in education, the findings of which revealed a lack of Web 2.0 pedagogical models in the literature. This paper makes a contribution to knowledge in the area of Web 2.0 use in education by presenting a Web 2.0 pedagogical model to inform educators of how to apply the learning theories associated with Web 2.0 in the classroom. A Web 2.0 implementation framework is presented which provides educators with a set of practical steps to follow when adopting the use of Web 2.0 for the first time. These are also increasingly intelligent and powerful, allowing for rich user interfaces and complex operations and software. On the other hand, the advance of the Internet has given birth to a converged Web which offers a myriad of different services just with a couple of clicks. The content present in the Web is created by simple users. Nevertheless, this content is in the cloud and not shared directly from users. This behaviour is a passive one. In this paper, we propose a service architecture which transforms passive users into service providers. This role is acquired in a specific ambient where users share services with each other. Thanks to this collaboration, people can find adequate solutions to a specific problem. A university campus scenario illustrates the functionalities of the service architecture. The proposed solution has a layered structure that integrates Web services with a semantic modelling of the context. This model describes a specific vocabulary to be used when creating or requesting services. This method called Fuzz-web is based on Multiple Criteria Decision Making. Obviously, a phase of selecting appropriate evaluation criteria is necessary for the decision making process. Since the evaluation process is characterized by subjectivity and imprecision, we attempt to address the problem using fuzzy logic as an intelligent technology. All the information about these learning objects (LOs) is described in any metadata labeling standard (LOM, Dublin Core, etc). It is necessary to work and develop solutions that provide efficiency in searching for heterogeneous content and finding distributed context. Distributed information retrieval, or federated search, attempts to respond to the problem of information retrieval in the hidden Web. The main aim of a federated search is to develop models and strategies to get the most benefit from these distributed sources. Thus, users perceive the system as a single point of access to information they require, regardless of the number of sources that exist, its location, or its management mechanism. The process is completely transparent to the user, who does not perceive its complexity and therefore treats any of the information retrieved uniformly. This paper describes an architecture that recovers educational content, called AIREH (Architecture for Intelligent Recovery of Educational content in Heterogeneous Environments), which combines the dynamism and flexibility of multi-agent organizations.
