This framework is designated to more efficiently work for dynamically assembling services at runtime in a massively distributed environment. The central point of the AMWS is to use RDF (Resource Description Framework) to carry all exchanging messages. However, the implementation detail has not been discussed yet. In this paper, we focus on showing the two most important implementation parts of (1) transforming existing services to become AMWS compliant services that can consume and produce RDF messages; (2) service semantics can be annotated and self-brokered by using our developed Development Time Semantic Annotation and Lowering (DtSAL) Library at programming time.","PeriodicalId":271670,"journal":{"name":"2011 7th International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116353685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And as with all new technologies, it comes with its share of challenges. Of particular difficulty is the challenge of securing a service oriented system. Since Web services supply a significant way to provide SOA requirements, any brought up issues, like security of SOA, can be related to Web services. On the other hand, Web services are well-known XML1_based technologies. So the security of Web services can be directly affected by XML security. In this study, a new security framework is proposed which aims to defend main XML threats, especially WSDL attacks in an SOA environment. To the best of our knowledge, it is for the first time that such a practical solution has been offered, which not only handle one aspect of XML vulnerabilities like SOAP2 messages but, also try to defend WSDL3 threats, in an SOA environment.","PeriodicalId":271670,"journal":{"name":"2011 7th International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"31 17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123445761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Linear Logic theorem proof is applied at both resource and service invocation method levels, which greatly improves the searching efficiency and guarantees the correctness and completeness of the service composition. Furthermore, the process calculus is used as formalism for the composition process, which enables the approach to be executable at the business management level. The process calculus is attached to the Linear Logic inference rules in the style of type theory, so the process model is extracted directly from the complete proof. An example is given to show the extraction of a process model from a Linear Logic proof search.","PeriodicalId":271670,"journal":{"name":"2011 7th International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125608669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Modern society needs, based on the principle of united Europe, demand not just individual development, but mutual compliance of all high educational systems. Mobility of students, researchers and academics is a priority of the European Union (EU) in compliance with the scientific and educational principles. Closer ties of The Republic of Serbia with the European Union allow for the use of certain fund sources which the EU uses to encourage the development of higher education through academic mobility in the Western Balkans. Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate and interact with the web. People with visual disabilities have low vision or blindness for which the mouse and the monitor would be less useful. The level of accessibility in AJAX and JAWS screen reader has been evaluated in this paper. Websites were picked up randomly for the purpose of analysis and the result is documented. This paper gives some suggestions on how to improve the accessibility in Rich Internet Applications for visually disabled. With lot of technological enhancements in creating very Rich Internet Applications, the challenges to keep the web content completely accessible to the visually disabled users is also increasing.","PeriodicalId":271670,"journal":{"name":"2011 7th International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125743121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impact of the Internet has resulted in significant changes within education with eLearning now an accepted and commonplace form of education. However, the online tools that are used in eLearning tend to be first generation Web tools rather than second generation, Web 2.0, tools. Some reasons for this are the lack of empirical evidence supporting their use in education, the perceived complexity of the tools and lack of training. This paper presents the results of a large-scale European pilot into the use of Web 2.0 tools across all educational sectors through an innovative and simple-to-use platform that allows teachers to customize which Web 2.0 tools they wish to use in their courses.","PeriodicalId":271670,"journal":{"name":"2011 7th International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115270581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ontology learning techniques from text have emerged as a set of techniques to get ontologies from unstructured information. An important task in ontology learning is to get the taxonomy. For building a taxonomy, the identification of hypernymy/hyponymy relations between terms is imperative. Previous work have used specific lexical patterns or they have focused on identifying new patterns. Recently, the use of the Web as source of collective knowledge seems a good option for finding appropriate hypernyms. This paper introduces an approach to find hypernymy relations between terms belonging to a specific knowledge domain. This approach combines WordNet synsets and context information for building an extended query set. This query set is sent to a web search engine in order to retrieve the most representative hypernym for a term.","PeriodicalId":271670,"journal":{"name":"2011 7th International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129547484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
