Integrated logarithmic amplifiers & phase detectors are used to sample the input and output signals before and after the RFPA to measure the complex gain & phase information, which is used to control an integrated pre-distorter integrated circuit (IC) that contains adjustable gain & phase components within a single IC package. Comparisons of a range of well-known and updated RFPA behavioral models are evaluated to determine the most suitable behavioral model for this linearization scheme. The simulation model also allows for the addition of RFPA memory effects and driver & RFPA noise figures to be included and compared. All component models are based on parameters extracted from device data sheets for the driver & RFPA, thus minimizing the need for special measurements.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115403500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article has investigated unequal-area facility layout problems in order to minimize the sum of the material handling costs. In addition, the areas and shapes of departments were fixed throughout the time horizon and during the iteration of an algorithm. Exact methods could not solve facility layout problems within a reasonable computational time when the number of departments increases due to their complexity. Therefore, a modified genetic algorithm was suggested to solve the problems. The proposed method was tested by using some problem instances chosen from the literature. Local search method and swapping method were used in order to improve the quality of layouts. In accordance with the results, the proposed modified genetic algorithm has created encouraging layouts in contrast to other methods.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"220 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115526360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different from image segmentation, object detection, 3D reconstruction, etc., which only implements a single task, scene understanding is a technology aiming at implementing a holistic scene parsing, that is, acquiring the spatial extent, location and semantic of every object in a scene. Nevertheless, scene understanding doesn't equal to direct accumulation of individual vision tasks. Along with the development of scene understanding, it has formed its own framework. In general, indoor scene understanding is more challenging than outdoor scene understanding, but with the emergence of RGB-D sensors, more and more researchers have focused on indoor scene understanding. Fusing context information to constrain relationship between adjacent pixels and improve accuracy of algorithm is the common sense in the field of scene understanding. There are three kinds of context, namely, pixel based context, region based context and object based context. In this paper, We reviewed these different context respectively.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115673437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have proposed a prototype which is an indoor navigation application for blinds that uses QR codes. It is developed for android Smart phones and does not require any additional hardware for navigation. It provides automatic navigational assistance on pre-defined paths for blind. QR codes are placed on the floor sections after specific distance that acts as an input for current location detection and navigation. Whenever a QR code is scanned it provides the user with the information of the current location and asks the user to select the destination and then offers optimal and shortest path using path finding algorithms. During navigation whenever the deviation from the proposed path is detected it prompts the user and guides back to the right path by comparing the current path with the generated path. All of the instructions throughout the application are provided in audio form to the user. The interface of the application is well built for blinds which makes the smart phones user-friendly and useable for blind people. The user interacts with the application through a specific set of user-friendly gestures for specific inputs and operations. At the end, we have performed comparison between different state of art approaches and concluded that our approach is more user friendly, cost effective and produced more accurate results.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114709665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is important to craft ASR technologies specifically for the speech disabled. Nonetheless, because of the complexity and variability of dysarthric speech, previous studies failed to achieve adequate performance. In this paper we investigated the applications of array learners towards dysarthric speech recognition. The array was implemented by several neural networks that configured to work in parallel. The proposed approach was verified by using the speech materials of seven dysarthric subjects with speech intelligibility from 2% to 86%. For comparison, the results were compared with a dysarthric ASR based on the legacy single-learner approach as the reference model. It is shown that the array learner-based dysarthric ASR improved the mean word recognition rate of 10.41% over the reference model, and decreased the error rate of 4.84%.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115104356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While, only the color information for object segmentation has been the main focus of research, with the availability of low cost color plus range sensors, depth segmentation is now attracting significant attention. This paper presents a novel algorithm for depth segmentation. The proposed technique exploits the divergence of the 2D vector field to segment three-dimensional (3D) object in the depth maps. For a given depth image acquired using a low resolution Kinect sensor, a 2D vector field is computed first at each point of the range image. The depth map is then converted to the div map by computing the 2D vector field's divergence. The latter maps the vector field to a scalar field. The variation of divergence values over the surface contour of the 3D object helps to extract its boundaries. Finally, the depth segmentation is accomplished by applying a threshold to the div map to segment 3D object from the background. In addition to removing the background, the proposed technique also segments the object from the surface on which the object is positioned. The proposed technique was tested on low resolution Washington RGB-D (Kinect) object dataset. Preliminary experimental results suggest that the proposed algorithm achieves better depth segmentation compared to state-of-the art graph-based depth segmentation. The proposed technique also outperforms the latter by achieving 40% higher computational efficiency.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129504688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
