Often the optimization search space is multidimensional and several design requirements and variable limits have to be addressed. This paper introduces a new approach for integrating design efficiency constraint into the optimization cost-based objective function. This approach enables the evolutionary algorithms to better evaluate inferior and even unacceptable solutions and appropriately use them in the search for superior solutions. Adjustable parameters of the new objective function enables the engineers to apply their design preferences. Performance of the proposed objective function is examined for design optimization of a STHX in this study. Through comprehensive simulations, it is found that optimization using the proposed objective function always locates globally optimal solutions in the multidimensional search space. Furthermore, it offers alternative solutions which are more attractive in terms of total cost of STHX.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128903936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most critical problems of such system is communication delay that leads to teleoperation instability. This problem can be minimized by using Augmented Reality (AR) concepts of superimposing virtual objects onto the real video image of the workspace to create a simulation plan in the local machine. This facilitates trial and error increasing task safety with reduced network interactions. In this paper, a detailed model to augment a given stereo vision system with AR is presented. At first, a six DOF 3D graphical arm is designed and then superimposed onto the video image using camera calibration and registration methods. Motion activation algorithms are developed and interfaces are designed to facilitate task simulations. Data transmission security and integrity over the network are also discussed. The system is implemented using Microsoft .NET with Visual C# and DirectX 9 to augment a stereo vision system comprising of a PUMA-560 robot operating over a LAN.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121641935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel contrast-based dehazing algorithm is proposed by using stereoscopic images. The proposed algorithm first decomposes the disparity map in a given fog-and-haze stereo pair with digital wavelet transformation (DWT). Then, the contrast sensitivity function (CSF) is employed to adjust the image contrast. To measure the contrast, the cost function, which consists of the DWT CSF mask and wavelet contrast measurement is proposed. Results on a variety of real hazy images demonstrate that the proposed approach significantly improves hazy image quality. Especially, the proposed method has fast speed so that it can be implemented in real-time applications.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116030968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So in the whole control areas, namely, constant torque and constant power region, the magnetic saturation exerts an important influence on the motor parameters. With high power density, more compacted design and high structure strength, traction converters could promote faster and more efficiency of modern electrical locomotives. Reliable and high quality protection for IGBT drivers can lead to the best characteristics of a high power IGBT module. In this paper, a simulation model was built to analyze a kind of IGBT failure based on one type locomotive. The possible reason of the IGBT fault caused by current short was studied. A novel IGBT driver circuits was designed. With the permeation of Internet of things (IoT), big data, and cloud technologies in manufacturing, manufacturing service and task management in SOM is facing some new challenges under the cloud environment. In consideration of the characteristics of cloud environment (i.e., complexity, sociality, dynamics, uncertainty, distribution, expandability, etc.), a manufacturing service and task management method based on complex networks is proposed in this paper. The models of manufacturing service network (S_Net) and manufacturing task network (T_Net) are built according to the digital description of manufacturing service and task. Then the manufacturing service management upon S_Net and manufacturing task management upon T_Net are discussed respectively. Finally, the conclusion and future works are pointed out.","PeriodicalId":270660,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 10th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"300 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116529167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, hybrid energy storage cost less. So it's suitable for micro-grid power balance control. This paper presents a main circuit structure which is Buck/Boost converters connecting super capacitor and battery with PWM (pulse width modulation) inverter to achieve bi-directional power adjustment and improve utilization of super capacitor. DC bus voltage is sensitive to and fluctuates with switching of PWM inverter's working conditions. To solve this problem a combination of voltage-current close loop control and power feed-forward control is adopted in super capacitor control while achieving fast power tracking; peak current control is adopted in battery control, this control strategy has simple control circuit and high reliability. Meanwhile peak current control can limit maximum current of battery, so it can protect battery and prolong battery life.
