Using quantitative statistical methods, the paper analyzed the trend of the grain market, noting that in Romania are cultivated very large areas with grain cereals, being among the leaders of EU countries in terms of area (5.4 million hectares in 2020 ) and the production obtained (3,402kg / hectares in 2020). It was also noted that in our country, corn has the highest average production per hectare, respectively 3,963kg / hectares in 2020. With the help of the forecast function, it was possible to highlight the forecasts regarding the evolution of areas and productions in the next five years, in the situation where the evolution trend analyzed in the period 2015-2020 is maintained, thus noticing an upward trend of areas cultivated with wheat, barley and corn, and for the production obtained for these cereals a downward trend.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124090790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The EU-28 Member States have been overseen in terms of food trade values and, in most of the identified food categories, trade surplus has been recorded. The paper’s preamble points towards the importance of trade in achieving food security, then the specialized literature is quantitatively reviewed highlighting the increasing interest over this topic and, as the last part of the paper, all the 24 food categories are analyzed. The Netherlands, Spain and Germany are some good examples of leading nations in specific food category groups.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131221289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of its benefits and its huge potential, it represents a sure way to a sustainable economic system. The aim of implementing this model, despite the conventional linear one, is to increase the rates of longterm sustainability. The actual study goal is to show how important the CE from the perspective of current research. The research question represents the title of the paper and describes the importance of the CE. How important is the CE? The real significance of the research question is, by answering it, to identify and state how often the CE appears in multiple kinds of scientific articles in recent years. The importance of the circular economy has grown exponentially in recent years, with each year seeing an increase in interest. With the implementation of the first circular economy action plan, implemented by the EC in 2015, this topic has become very attractive for researchers. Even though the CE subject gained real success in the last years, its potential is not exploited to its maximum, and it represents a huge opportunity to study because of its numerous advantages.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131978887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, often the fertilizer doses applied per hectare to agricultural crops are not respected. Failure to comply with the applied fertilizer doses will lead to the occurrence of negative phenomena for soil, environment and agricultural crops, implicitly for human and animal health. Increasing the fertilizer doses per hectare and not respecting them will lead to the occurrence of soil acidification. The decrease of the bacterial colonies in the soil will bring with it a decrease of the humification processes, of the decomposition and solubilization processes of the complex compounds in the soil as well as favoring the leaching and appearance of the complex compounds in the soil (in large quantities). The increase of complex compounds in the soil will lead to a decrease in pH (below pH 7), which will lead to an increase in soil acidity. On acidic soil, crops will not reach their maximum potential in productivity. The use of bacterial biopreparation technologies in agricultural crops plays an important role in plant protection. Some bacterial cultures give plants a protection against pedo-climatic stress, a resistance to the attack of diseases and pests as well as conferring a protection on environmental factors (drought, heavy rainfall, cold, etc.). The use of these bacterial products as fertilizers as well as plant protection products has been shown to have great potential in growing, developing, maximizing agricultural production, in restoring and greening the soil and its beneficial flora, the role of these biological fertilizers being to address a green, sustainable, sustainable agriculture and achieving high, healthy, nutrient-rich productivity, beneficial to human and animal health.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131882623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In previous period there are significant state support allocated to affirmation and development of reasonable entrepreneurial initiatives related to agricultural cooperatives. Even more are valued the sustainable business ideas that have initiated organization of processing at the cooperative level. The main goal of paper is to present the part of mechanism for assessing the economic effectiveness of planed investment in medicinal plants production and processing at selected agricultural cooperative that will be granted from public fund. Investment project suppose the modernization and purchase of missing production elements that will boost the production results of observed cooperative active in sector of medicinal plants. To perceive if or how much the investment is internally/externally economically welcomed, it will be conducted the investment analysis based on use of common static methods. Besides the strengthening of cooperative economic sustainability, both sides, i.e. policy maker and agricultural cooperative, are expecting that realization of investment will surely has certain ecological and social impact to cooperative and local community. Gained results of investment analysis show that supporting the investment in medicinal plant production and processing could be a win-win combination for observed cooperative and local community it belongs.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115926729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study seeks to present a comparison between the alternative energy and the conventional energy and the impact on the mitigation of climate change. Moreover, by analyzing the key factors that characterize the energy sector from Romania and the European Union, the current situation is highlighted and the study could contribute to knowledge development or solving practical issues. Taking into consideration the interdependence between economic growth and energy consumption, stable access to electricity is of political, technical and monetary interest to both developed and developing countries. In this context, green energy sources can contribute, along with other means, to achieving a greener and more environmentally friendly society. For the literature review it was used the VOSViewer software that analyzes the bibliometric links between countries and authors. It can be stated that the highest production from green sources in Romania is obtained with the help of hydropower plants. However, wind and solar energy play an important role in the national energy structure.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130719297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, by taking a closer look at our eating habits and reconsidering the food we consume, we can significantly reduce our environmental footprint. Using the data sets from the most recent Special Eurobarometer report, the main goal of this paper is to offer a fresh and updated perspective regarding the food shopping and consumption behaviour of Romanian citizens. To understand the attitudes of Romanians towards food and sustainability, this study aims to uncover what are the main factors that drive food purchases and examine what would help citizens adopt a healthy and sustainable diet. Data analysis revealed that when purchasing food, Romanians put taste, food security and price above sustainability matters. Furthermore, Romanians are more likely to adopt a healthy and sustainable diet for personal reasons (their own health), rather than the protection of the environment. Responses are compared between different sociodemographic groups and with other countries from the European Union. These findings can guide the development of national educational strategies that can limit environmental degradation in Romania and lead to real behavioural changes.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128190777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such a globalized economic climate, international agri-food flows shift in patterns rapidly and are subject to numerous risks and challenges such as climate change issues, food insecurity, supply chain disruptions caused by pandemics and many other challenges. Agriculture and food trading have been under a lot of pressure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, by the constantly growing pressure for mitigating climate change issues, while still ensuring food security globally. On top of that, there is also the commitment of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in time, as specified in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, plus the upcoming commitment in the EU for implementing the Green Deal, with direct impact on agriculture and international agri-food trading activities. In this context, the aim of this research was to explore the scientific interest for the topic of food trading with a focus on the 2019-2021 period and highlight emergent trends through quantitative mapping of the keywords associated to the papers published in this field and indexed in the Web of Science. Results show a scientific interest shift from a research area specific to the economic competitiveness of food trading to an area specific to environmental and global food supply concerns.","PeriodicalId":269913,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference Competitiveness of Agro-Food and Environmental Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128746780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
