It is shown that almost all stable equilibria of the standard transient stability model are strongly stable and that strong stability is a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a local energy-like Lyapunov function for all small perturbations of the nominal system. Such a Lyapunov function is explicitly constructed. A complete local analysis of the stability of power system equilibria in the presence of transfer conductances is given.","PeriodicalId":269680,"journal":{"name":"The 23rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1984-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127158704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
