Nowadays execution of that task is performed by concurrent reactive power compensation (CRPC) and voltage regulation (VR) in addition to the traditional regulation systems, which are not always perform their functions properly and that in its turn results in a simultaneous work both in generating and consuming of reactive power modes - work in “reverse phase”. Furthermore, existing systems do not take into account initial data of the equipment’s current state which leads to proportional wearing of one RPC comparatively of another installed on the same substation. If change of schematicregime situation occurs power flows of active and reactive power change and they affect the voltage change in nodes. In result regulator’s parameters become irrelevant which can result in insufficient regulation qualities – decrease of stability margin and unsatisfactory GE’s quality.Considering all mentioned above, nowadays there is a problem of actualization of adjusting regulator’s settings. This paper presents a description of a relevant regulator’s parameters determination method by identification of control object and dynamically adjusting regulator’s parameters.","PeriodicalId":268768,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130638866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The poorly damped low-frequency oscillations (LFO) negatively affecting the reliability of the system are particularly interesting [1, 2, 4]. One of the main reasons for their occurrence is a significant power imbalance, and one of the factors of their continuation and development is the incorrect work of the regulators of the excitation system of electric generators [1, 2]. The poor damping of these oscillations leads to negative consequences, for example, the degradation of power quality, undue stress on equipment, system separation, blackouts, and others. The mentioned oscillations are observed in the low-frequency part of the spectrum (to 4 Hz) of the measured quantities (power, frequency) [5, 6]. The corresponding components of the measurement signals are called low-frequency modes. The example of measured signal and two low-frequency modes are shown in Fig. 1.","PeriodicalId":268768,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130079104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emergence of the LFO with parameters exceeding a certain level, can lead to violation of parallel operation of power plants and power systems, violation of stability and a danger to equipment. Thus, interzone LFO can cause significant power fluctuations on extended power transmission lines, which in unfavorable circumstances lead to a loss of fluctuation stability and the separation of power systems into isolated working parts. Compelled LFO can lead to increased wear of power equipment, as well as cause damage to it.In the environment of MATLAB the algorithm of calculation of the LFO parameters of the different signals arriving from different PMU is received and further visualization of the received results for the purpose of increase in informational content of data view is carried out.This study provides an opportunity to process measurements and show the parameters of damped sinusoidal LFO, which are currently present in the signal. In the developed program, it is possible to manually set parameters for signal analysis: selecting a station with an installed PMU, processing window width of a given signal, respectively the minimum frequency observed in the LFO, cut coefficient, etc. with damping of LFO existing in regime parameters of the power system.","PeriodicalId":268768,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130140973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, such parts of the IEDs have not changed significantly since their first implementation. However, for the past decades, a lot of issues in analog and discrete circuits have been found, thus, it requires revision in their design. Traditional analog input devices are current and voltage transformers. However, with the growth of the IEDs functions, it is necessary to consider the use of new types of converters, for example, Hall sensors. For receiving signals from other IEDs, discrete input devices are used. Its’ principle of operation is the transferring logic signals to the microprocessor. But since various kinds of interference may appear in the direct current system (DC system) to which the discrete input device is connected, it is necessary to detune from different disturbances.","PeriodicalId":268768,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127889250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of their implementations is online parameter identification using current and voltage phasor vectors from sending and receiving ends [2]. Transmission line (TL) parameters online updating could help to solve different tasks, such as state estimation, power flow analysis, and Q/V optimization. The updated TL parameters could provide the data to identify the fault localization. Using FACTS devices gives a possibility to automatic control the operating voltage along the TL [3]. For the task of Q/V optimization not only active resistance updating is required but also renewing the corona losses (CL) value and the dependence between CL and operating voltage (OV). It is well known that instant CL value depends heavily on the weather conditions (wind velocity, air humidity, ambient temperature, precipitation, etc.) along the TL and on the voltage profile along the line. Due to the challenge in commercially installing weather stations along the TL, TL parameters identification based on PMU measurements is the most viable and effective solution. There are some papers considering CL and OV relation as a quadratic function due to a pi-circuit [2], [4]. These papers suggest defining CL from TL conductance. It has been established that real dependence between CL and OV constitutes the 4-8 order polynomial [5]. Given that, the better the weather is, the higher the order is observed.","PeriodicalId":268768,"journal":{"name":"2019 2nd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122308310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
