In addition, area-based broadcasting using the bandwidth that is not used in radio broadcasting has attracted great attention. In area-based network environment, the server can deliver continuous media data such as audio and video to clients in a limited area. In area-based broadcasting, since the server delivers data repeatedly, clients have to wait until their data are broadcast. To reduce the waiting time, many studies employ the division based broadcasting technique, which reduces waiting time by dividing the data into several segments and frequently broadcasting the precedent segments. When the server makes the broadcast schedule in area-based broadcasting, it needs to consider both loading times of highlight scene and main scene. In broadcasting, since playing time of the commercial contents is predetermined, the server needs to make the broadcast schedule according to the consumption rate and the number of channels by setting both loading times of the highlight scene and the main scene. In this paper, we propose a scheduling method considering loading time for area-based broadcasting. In our scheduling method, since the server makes the broadcast schedule using a different ratio of dividing data for the highlight scene and the main scene respectively, waiting time is reduced effectively.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129429217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This efficiency and performance gain can be achieved by providing the service oriented architecture in which shared computing and storage resources over a network in a self-service manner without human intervention. The paper includes the characteristics of mobile platform as a service (MPaaS) and its requirements to justify the necessity of such platforms. It also presents the potentials that it possesses through the case study of project \"Mobile Seva\" M-Governance initiative in India. But at the same time it increases the co-channel interference to the nearby APs leading to a degradation of network throughput. The issue becomes more serious when the network consists of heterogeneous clients. An inappropriate assignment of bonded channels to the APs may penalize the legacy clients served by other APs. Furthermore, activating the APs with non-bonded channels only may also penalize the n clients. In both cases the network throughput may be compromised. In this paper we propose an efficient bonded channel assignment algorithm addressing how efficiently a bonded channel can be used together with non-bonded channels to maximize the network throughput. Through extensive simulation we have shown that the proposed approach is efficient enough in terms of both network throughput and client fairness.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124786138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, due to the social media development, several new problems have emerged in users' privacy and security policy as identity theft, copyright infringement and unauthorized content sharing. The watermarking is a crucial way to assure safety objectives as it allows embedding an imperceptible mark in the digital video data. In this paper, we integrate two robust watermark schemes in a high efficiency codec HEVC, which can be easily implemented in the codec since they require only little extra computation. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed scheme (named XY method) does not affect the video quality, nor escalate bitrate. Our digital watermarking system presents a trade-off between capacity, fidelity, bitrate and robustness parameters.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131285143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this process, old footage of an aspect ratio of 4:3 needs to be cropped in order to use the Full-HD 16:9 screen space, whilst the overall aesthetics and content of the source video should be preserved. If done manually, this is an extensive and time consuming task. The challenge is to automatically adjust the framing according to the depicted content. Our approach aims at an automated detection of the most interesting regions of the source footage for adaptive cropping based on various visual features of representative key frames.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129817393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In previously proposed low computational MIMO design method based on block diagonalization, the performance degradation becomes large because of the subarray processing in both of transmitter and receiver sides. Particularly, in case of correlated channel, the conventional subarray method has poor characteristics, which cannot be used for the actual communication. In this work, through computer simulations, it is shown that the performance of transmit-receive subarray design can be significantly recovered to the level of practical use considering correlation based grouping.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128161972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The capabilities and performance of these devices determine the type of video streams that they are able to decode. As a way to fulfil their requirements, this paper presents a heterogeneous simultaneous encoding framework of H.264/Advanced Video Coding (AVC) and High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) that shares information between encoders in order to reduce the overall encoding time. In this regard, the proposed approach utilizes the H.264/AVC motion vectors of the 16x16 pixels macroblocks as predictors for the HEVC prediction units. As a consequence, the size of the motion estimation search area can be significantly reduced. Results show that an encoding time reduction of 8.95% can be achieved with negligible losses in terms of rate-distortion.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127452313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the development of adaptive information systems that can offer personalized information and filter out irrelevant data for a user is required. Significant work has been developed to solve this problem in the area of the so-called recommendation systems. However, context information has only started to be considered recently to build recommendation systems, despite being key to obtain more accurate recommendations. Moreover, even with some context information, there is still a significant gap between the fields of mobile computing and recommendation systems. In this paper, we focus on push-based recommendations (i.e., recommendations not explicitly requested) for mobile users, as it represents the most challenging and effective approach for recommending items in mobile environments. As opposed to existing work, a generic model that fits different domains is proposed. This model is based on the definition of the concept of environment and manages the impact of dynamic events and all the actors involved in the mobile recommendation process.","PeriodicalId":268141,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134132983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
