Unlike standard string matching algorithms that compares letters in the pattern against the text in fixed order, the proposed algorithm ranks the letters of the pattern according to their frequency of occurrence. The letters of patterns are then matched against text according to that ranking, starting with the letter with the least frequency of occurrence. The proposed algorithm significantly outperformed KMP algorithm in terms number of comparisons.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132277600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also one of the main languages spoken in the world with thousands of people in various Arab countries using it as their mother tongue. However, despite its richness, the Arabic language does not yet have a historical dictionary which helps to understand the language, its richness, its origins and its evolution. The historical dictionary aims at overseeing the compilation of a historical lexicon of the Arabic language and its development over the last two millennia. To create such a dictionary, we must follow many steps. As part of these steps is the extraction of the appropriate meaning of a given word occurring in a given context, also called word sense disambiguation (WSD). Indeed, the evolution of the Arabic language from antiquity to the present days has given birth to several linguistic registers ascribed to the great periods of the history of the Arabic language. They can be classified as: Old Arabic, Classical Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic. In this work, we propose a method that aims to disambiguate words in Modern Standard Arabic.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116220392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, developing robust AHWR system is an attractive research topic due to the high demands in many commercial applications. A robust recognition system is proposed based on wavelet transform to improve the recognition rate for Arabic language recognition. The experimental work was done using IFN/ENIT dataset and LIBSVM library. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method provides significant improvements in recognition accuracy in compared to the methods, which based on DCT transform. The results show that the proposed methods succeeded in recognizing 78% of Arabic words. Moreover, the Principal Component Analysis is utilized in this research to improve the performance and to reduce the computational cost. The number of features was reduced to 124 features when using 5-level DWT with window of size $4X16$ pixels.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124407632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a novel fine-grained, context-aware access control solution, based on the ABAC paradigm, that tries to address these challenges. The granularity of the proposed solution allows one to control every single aspect of a smart device independently. The extensible context model and the feature-oriented permission model well integrate with TDeX, our previous proposal of a generic description model for smart devices. The integration of these models extends M4HSD, our middleware infrastructure for smart devices, with access control capabilities and allows it to generate the graphical user interfaces (GUIs) needed to interact with the devices automatically given granted accesses and context information. The GUIs evolve dynamically while contexts and accesses change. Preliminary experiments demonstrate the feasibly of the proposed approach and its innovative characteristics.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130662286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existing theories are based on the material properties and the applied amount of load. The intrinsic inaccuracy of the theories in addition to the precision when properties are determined, makes it difficult to obtain an exact life value. Another problem when using fatigue theories is the exact fracture point determination. Usually the applied load and the material properties data are known, but not with precision enough to give good results. Data Mining models can help to find the proper values to be used during the component improvement. This article sets out the methodology to be followed in the training of Data Mining models. A comparison between the selected techniques is done in order to obtain the most suitable to this application.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122694763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In face-based WSNs, face structure is built using Gabriel graph (GG) or Relative Neighborhood graph (RNG), in which all sensor nodes in the network become part of topology. Thus the presence of redundant data in face-based wireless sensor networks leads to high energy consumption and shortens the lifespan of network. In this paper, we propose a redundancy-aware face structure (RAFS) that is more energy efficient and prolongs the lifetime of WSN. First, redundant sensor nodes are put to sleep then the face structure is built on remaining active nodes in the network. The performance of proposed face structure is compared with the existing face structure by running a routing protocol on both structures. The results show that our proposed face structure consumes less energy and takes less number of hops and time to route data from source node to destination node, and prolongs the lifetime of WSN.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123429263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a framework for reducing the size of large stored medical images. Among available methods, the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) has moderate performance as it is a lossy standard. It only compresses a single picture with intra-coding, and it does not utilize the inter-frame correlation among pictures. The Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) algorithm is a refined version of the Embedded Zero Wavelet (EZW) algorithm. It can perform better with higher compression ratios for a wide variety of images than those of the EZW. In this paper, the decimation is adopted as a compression process to minimize the size of stored images. Interpolation is used to recover images for further processing. Different interpolation schemes can be used for this purpose. A comparative study between different polynomial interpolation methods is presented for the objective of reconstructing the images. The experimental results show that the proposed decimation interpolation strategy yields good reconstruction performance, presents good compression ratios in the decimation process, and introduces acceptable PSNR values in the reconstruction process.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116211067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
