Although different applications are used in Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) tools, only few applications help teachers analyze conversations automatically in order to obtain information capable of evaluating educational dialogues. This paper presents an effective mechanism that is capable of analyzing CSCL chats and extracting scientific threads automatically. The aim is to accomplish several tasks, including identifying the most important discussed threads. Based on Bakhtin's ideas and Trausan-Matu's polyphonic model, used for the analysis of the chat content which resulted in the extraction of the most repeated words. In addition to providing teachers with results of analysis in the form of statistical tables, they can conclude with the most important scientific threads discussed and the number of their repetition in the conversation. Accordingly, the paper relies on the most common perception of scientific subjects and their storage in a database, through which words are categorized if they are in the scientific or otherwise field. We will notice that the application analyzes chat conducted for a group of students from the NOOR International School for discussion of scientific threads.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"156 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115586274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, nearby regional cuisines tend to learn from each other either due to communication or migration. The geographical closure for Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan made their culinary practice and dishes very similar. In this paper, we study the recipes and culinary practice of these four countries and then test the hypotheses of the food pairings that represent the compatibility of every pair of ingredients by finding their shared flavor compounds. Our analysis is considered at cuisines level, recipes, ingredients, and ingredients pair's level. Our study brings up the special features in each cuisine, and explores the similarities and differences between these cuisines by studying their deep culinary details. Comparing the food pairing hypothesis with real life paired ingredients in these cuisines shows the cuisines real fingerprints and whether, or not, they are different from theories. The experimental results showed that the food pairing hypothesis has been confirmed for the cuisines of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine, which suggests that people in this area combine ingredients that have matching flavor compounds.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128412273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is one of the evolutionary computation techniques that can be used as a prediction model for new data records. The ANN training method implemented is backpropagation which can be used in conjunction with an optimization method such as Dragonfly Algorithm (DA) and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. ABC has been used in the optimization of synaptic weights from an ANN. This research presents the use of DA as an optimization algorithm for the weights of each connection between the ANN neurons in a model called (ANN-DA). A disease prediction model that makes use of ANN-DA and takes real data as a case study is presented. We shall also present a model that makes use of ABC, ANN-ABC, in order to evaluate ANN-DA. An experimental comparison of both optimization algorithms with other well-known classifiers has been made using different metrics. The results show that ANN-DA proved its efficiency over ANN-ABC and regular ANN. Furthermore, ANN-DA results were more robust for all datasets.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128156178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the recent trends in cloud computing is the e-health services, as many healthcare institutes have begun to interchange toward the digitalized version of health records. E-health provide easy sharing of personal health care records between multiple organizations and offered real-time monitoring for the patient's state via storing this data over the cloud servers. However, having the data in such a distributed setting rises the need for having a secured data sharing with fine- grained access control, as the records are stored in a third-party service provider that is considered a semi trusted. Also, many different aspects of security should be taken into count with e-health, for instance the data is critical and should be only available to its owners. Numerous works have been done to secure the medical data in cloud environment. This work focuses on the security challenges and solutions for on Cloud-based E-health systems. Specifically, a state of the art is presented to preserve and protect E-health data, which consists of two tiers: cryptographic and non-cryptographic approach. Also, some of main issues and open problems that can be used in future studies are pointed out in this work.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122538549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These useless statements called dead code. The dead code affects the code quality negatively. In this research, a new model has been introduced to identify the dead code in a program and remove it. The decomposition slicing technique is used to identify the live code, and refactoring techniques can also help in tide up the code design. As a result, the proposed model succeed to remove the dead code of a program. However, still need some extra work to increase the accuracy of identifying the live code.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"332 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116534805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using chatbot in any business process may increase customers' satisfaction as it is available 24/7 to entertain customers' needs. A chatbot is expected to be more efficient than a human personnel in responding to customers' questions. Thus, having a chatbot that is able to retrieve answers for all questions in a quick and efficient way is very desirable. The aim of this paper is to introduce a new method called B-Point Tree to increase the efficiency of searching for accurate answers by adding an additional data structure to the traditional BST algorithm. The performance of the B-Point Tree has been compared to the traditional BST, results of experiments suggest that B-Point Tree outperforms the traditional BST. The findings suggest that the B-Point Tree is able to enhance the efficiency of a chatbot.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133335945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present a Self-Describing Semantic Trajectories Model (SDSTM) with meta parts called Scenario and Scenario-Instance, and these parts are enforced in JSON, and can describe entities and their relationships in ubiquitous situations in a structured and self-describing way. Through our model, spatial data and their context and activity semantics can be fused into a whole structured data for easy analysis further.","PeriodicalId":267689,"journal":{"name":"2018 8th International Conference on Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115783708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
