This circuit has been designed on the basis of configuration referenced in the literature. However, for application in the UWB antenna feeding networks it has been redesigned for the appropriate substrate. The designed balun has been loaded with a planar circular dipole, in order to validate its usefulness. Results obtained from full-wave simulations are presented in the paper. Calculated parameters of the balun and antenna show satisfactory level and predestine the circuit for fabrication.","PeriodicalId":267447,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114937891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the measurement processes that are involved in the design and verification of biomedical optical models, techniques and prototypes, it is convenient to make use of materials that mimic the optical properties shown by biological tissues. These media are called tissue phantoms. The choice of materials for obtaining such tissue phantoms is crucial. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the properties of biological tissues and of the available materials, and to perform a comparative study between them. Once the appropriate materials are chosen, the experimental determination of their optical characteristics must be performed in a precise way before they are used in the measurements. In this work, the optical properties of lipid-based tissue phantoms are analyzed and measured, with the final aim to use them for the experimental simulation of biological tissues.","PeriodicalId":267447,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126869451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It came from the mathematical description of the so-called labyrinth chaos but it is much more suitable for fully analog circuitry implementation. The necessity of realization of the three independent channels performing goniometrical transfer functions is replaced by its rough approximation, namely the periodical sign functions. The brief mathematical background is completed by a number of the laboratory experiments. Finally some future perspectives, possible modifications and practical usability are discussed.","PeriodicalId":267447,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122330988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Contrary to common digital hardware realizations which use several image line long shift register pipelines for direct calculation of 2D neighborhood operations, we suggest an efficient cyclic image line storage structure by using dual port block RAM buffers, which are available in recent FPGAs. Therefore, our approach does not occupy a huge amount of valuable logic resources in the FPGA for shift registers based data storage and achieves a high data throughput by parallel video data processing paths. With this memory structure we realize — already principally proposed in a previous work — a new hardware architecture of the basic morphological image processing operations erosion and dilation as building blocks. With these building blocks, which are hardware occupation and maximum clock frequency efficient, we also implemented the combined morphological operations opening and closing, which are commonly used for image enhancement like noise reduction and object contour smoothing.","PeriodicalId":267447,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124990536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main attention is devoted to the ”single active device” solutions, based on CC-II type current conveyor or transconductance amplifier (OTA). As the template, the Rauch's multiple-feedback circuit was used. Presented SFBs show very low ω0 and Q sensitivities and, in contrast to the known Sallen-Key circuits, save good stop-band attenuation. Proposed design uses DE algorithm and allows almost independent tunning of ω0 and Q parameters.","PeriodicalId":267447,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130380783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approximation is a basis for a simple and compact mathematical model of the three-stub coaxial tuner, intended for the use in automatic impedance matching devices. The input data are frequency responses of S11 and S21 for various settings of the sliding short. The approximation is a two-dimensional polynomial (in dependence on short position and frequency) of suitably modified S-parameters. Approximation with satisfactory accuracy can be achieved.","PeriodicalId":267447,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122655688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
