Over the last twenty years apparel industry has never seen a setback whether inflation or deflation, demonetization, G.S.T. implementation, or a pandemic the industry has a record of its most remarkable journey from fashion to fast fashion and now from fast fashion to ultra-fast fashion. In capturing the minds and wardrobes of the mass population, especially the youth, fashion houses have been successful in introducing cheap, trendy, and affordable clothing lines through their online and traditional retail stores, along with digital marketing. The increased clothing expenditure has also led to fast fashion creating a huge economic impact. Since the growth in the apparel market has been witnessed faster than in the global economy, it is responsible for the recent economic growth (on average 4.78%) and future growth (5.90% in the next three years) of the apparel industry. The study also focuses on the desires of the students to keep pace with trends at all times under some social influences. But since everything comes at a cost, the idea of disposable clothing has created a huge negative impact on our environment.","PeriodicalId":267407,"journal":{"name":"BSSS Journal of Commerce","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117289890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While its impact is evident in urban areas, the potential of e-commerce in rural regions remains largely untapped. This abstract focuses on exploring the challenges and opportunities faced by fastmoving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in leveraging e-commerce to unlock the potential of rural Madhya Pradesh, India's central state, in 2023.Rural Madhya Pradesh presents a unique set of challenges for FMCG companies aiming to tap into the e-commerce market. These challenges include limited internet connectivity, low digital literacy rates, inadequate transportation infrastructure, and fragmented supply chains. Additionally, rural consumers often exhibit different purchasing behaviours and preferences compared to their urban counterparts, necessitating tailored marketing strategies and product offerings. Furthermore, understanding the unique needs and aspirations of rural consumers is crucial for FMCG companies to succeed in this market. Tailoring product offerings to cater to local preferences, affordability, and value for money can enhance customer engagement and brand loyalty. Moreover, implementing localized marketing strategies, including vernacular language support and targeted advertising campaigns, can effectively communicate the value proposition of e-commerce to rural consumers. In conclusion, unlocking the potential of ecommerce in rural Madhya Pradesh requires FMCG companies to navigate a range of challenges while capitalizing on emerging opportunities. By addressing the barriers related to infrastructure, connectivity, and consumer behaviour, and by adopting localized strategies, FMCG companies can establish a strong foothold in this untapped market, driving economic growth and transforming the rural retail landscape in 2023","PeriodicalId":267407,"journal":{"name":"BSSS Journal of Commerce","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133707352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IN BHOPAL USING RATIO ANALYSIS","authors":"Stella Masih","doi":"10.51767/joc1513","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.51767/joc1513","url":null,"abstract":"This study use ratio analysis to evaluate Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.'s (BSNL) financial standing in Bhopal. Financial health was assessed by looking at liquidity, profitability, and solvency measures for 2018, 2019, and 2020. The ratio research showed that BSNL has serious money problems since the company's liquidity, profitability, and solvency ratios are all poor. A fall in the company's current ratio and quick ratio over time indicates that meeting short-term commitments may be difficult for BSNL. The company has been losing money and failing to generate positive returns for its investors since its net profit margin ratio, return on assets ratio, and return on equity ratio are all below zero. The increasing debt-to-equity ratio, debt-to-total-assets ratio, and interest coverage ratio all indicate that the company is more dependent on debt financing rather than equity funding. This indicates that the corporation may have trouble generating enough revenue to meet its interest expenditures. Based on the results of this study, BSNL should make certain strategic adjustments to boost its bottom line. The recommended measures, such as better working capital management, debt reduction, revenue growth, and customer service improvement, may aid the firm in overcoming its financial difficulties. BSNL's overall financial health is in a vulnerable state, and the corporation has to take immediate measures to strengthen its bottom line.","PeriodicalId":267407,"journal":{"name":"BSSS Journal of Commerce","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129947950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Selvi","doi":"10.51767/joc1402","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.51767/joc1402","url":null,"abstract":"Indian railway is a popular mode of transport in India. It provides comfortable journey to every class of people. It is very helpful in transferring heavy & large materials like jute, cement, petroleum etc. from one part of the country to another part. It is the world’s largest government-owned monopoly, annually carrying passenger numbers that surpass the global population. It is world’s fourth largest rail network after the U.S.A., China, and Russia, and is managed by a separate Ministry of Railways. The operating ratios have consistently been around 90% in the past several years, indicating that that the capability to generate operational surplus is low. Further, its expenditure on staff and their pensions has been increasing. Consequently, capacity growth is increasingly being funded through borrowings, which threatens to further worsen the financial situation. Thus, Railway services in India are often perceived as being inefficient and unsatisfactory. This paper shows a review of assets and liabilities of Indian Railways. This paper is focused on total assets and total liabilities of Indian Railway. The study is entirely based on secondary data that is from annual reports of Indian railway. Share capital, Reserve and Surplus, Current liabilities, Current Assets and Fixed Assets are mentioned. The study covers the period of seventeen years (from year 2005 to year 2021) and discusses ups and downs within this area.","PeriodicalId":267407,"journal":{"name":"BSSS Journal of Commerce","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128784272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The giant corporate failures occurring across the various jurisdictions compelled the regulators across the globe to make compulsory provisions regarding the Independent Directors irrespective of the model of corporate governance they were following. Following the initiative taken by the US and UK various other countries also adopted the provision of overhauling and revamping the board structure for ensuring better governance by appointing independent directors.
