Waiting is necessary but not sufficient condition to conquer the head and heart of the fiancée. Waiting is a risky game. Sometimes it reciprocates. Sometimes it reciprocates not. Thus the mood and motif of the lover are gloriously so uncertain. No risk no gain implies high risk high gain. As such risk is not or may not be unnecessary always. Zimbabwe (1980-2010).” The main objectives of this study include to establish the major factors contributing to failure of peace-building in the Matabeleland North and South Provinces. One of the research questions was what are the major reasons for the failure of peacebuilding and reconciliation processes in these Provinces? The design of the study was qualitative because the topic dealt with emotions and feelings of the people who were involved in the conflict. The research used purposive sampling technique in selecting the majority of respondents. Data was gathered through interviews, questionnaires and focus group discussions. The major findings do indicate that the government has not been sincere in peacebuilding efforts and reconciliation was not properly implemented and that the communities in Matabeleland Provinces remain divided. The study concludes that the government has not made any apology for all the killings which were done by government forces. This paper recommends that government should make full acknowledgement of all the killings and compensate the regions affected. In addition, there is need to establish Truth and Reconciliation Commission to handle all the cases of violence.","PeriodicalId":267360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114833936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By the first week of April 2020, 3.9 billion people – more than half the worldwide population – were under some form of lockdown. Since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, the IMF increased admittance to emergency funding amenities and delivered about $11 billion in emergency funding to a plethora of African countries including Ghana. This was to salvage the economic crisis that these countries were facing. However, this helped only temporarily and thus, people living in poverty, especially in Ghana started becoming apprehensive. In essence, this study looks at the role of the international community in the management of covid-19 in Ghana. It also briefly examines the effect of the pandemic on property crime. The research is supported by various schorlarly perspectives and a thorough examination of practical and theoretical knowledge in order to contribute to the existing body of literature. The observational research method was used in this reading, and empirical statistics was gathered from public and private sector authorities. The work was qualitatively infused and relied on rudimentary statistics (frequency and percentages). The data was gathered from both primary and secondary sources. The study found that more males were involved in the fight against the pandemic, and the lockdown was managed well. It also established that a global central database was used in creating awareness of the pandemic and that despite the support from the international community, deaths from the pandemic prevailed. Increased participation of and collaboration among stakeholders at the local authority was recommended.","PeriodicalId":267360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134504750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scholars generally believe that the guiding precedent system is only a summary of judicial experience, and it is a temporary measure in judicial reform that helps to enhance judicial credibility. Professor Gu Peidong's interpretation is quite different,and interpreted this phenomenon as a sprout of precedent system with Chinese characteristics. He comprehensively summarized the impact of case citation on judicial practice through the research on the current situation and reasons of spontaneous use of cases, the actual utility of case use, and the functional positioning of cases with different attributes, and prospected the future prospect of China's case system. There may be different ways to interpret the same phenomenon, but Professor Gu Peidong's research really deserves more consideration.","PeriodicalId":267360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114092790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this review was to identify 1. what the quality and what the limitations to educational materials used to improve HL in stroke patients are 2. what the levels of HL among stroke patients and stroke survivors are, and 3. how HL and stroke literacy levels affect health-related behaviours and outcomes of stroke patients. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were followed. 6 computerized databases and gray literature sources were searched: MEDLINE, OVID, EMBSE, CINAHL, Cochrane library, Web of Science, and Health and Psychosocial Instruments, and Google Scholar. Papers published in English between January 01, 2000 and August 01, 2020 were included. Five themes were identified across the 26 studies regarding the education and measurement of stroke with relevance to HL. This review concludes that current instruments used to improve HL in stroke are inadequate as they fail to provide a holistic assessment of health literacy, especially concerning stroke patients and stroke literacy. This review identified a paucity of literature on HL in relation to stroke management and outcomes. Therefore, the authors are in strong favour of future research prioritizing the development of effective tools to assess HL and develop best-practice guidelines for stroke education materials.","PeriodicalId":267360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133109596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
