Simulated results show that the three kinds of wavelength conversion schemes are achieved with clear open eye diagrams and have signal regeneration capability at 640Gbit/s. To further investigate the performance of three kinds of wavelength conversion schemes, the dependence of output extinction ratio (ER) on some key parameters used in simulation is illustrated. Simulated analyses show that the wavelength conversion based on NPR assisted with blue-shifted filtering scheme exhibits the best performance in terms of the maximum output ER for wavelength conversion and the maximum dynamic range of input power for signal regeneration.","PeriodicalId":267128,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network & Multimedia Technology","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129497921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many computer graphics applications call for vivid, full detail models. However, the level of detail necessary is more important than this need for fidelity in rendering system. So it is useful to obtain simple versions of complex models. We have developed a novel simplification algorithm which can preserve the shape information such as sharp corner of the original point set. The underlying simplification principle is based on the local surface analysis of each sample point. Our method decimates only one point every time from the pointsampled models to be simplified. The algorithm supports the generation of progressive and multiresolution expression of the input point set, and thus can be applied to progressive transmission over a network with limited bandwidth. The effectiveness and performance of the proposed method are validated and illustrated through case studies.","PeriodicalId":267128,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network & Multimedia Technology","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129652045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First we calculate the characteristic function of a model under power control. Then, we introduce some existing results under a special model which we call it the system model. By comparing the characteristic functions of the normalized interference under two models, we find that under the system model, if we change the node density λ into other parameters in the expression of the bounds, upper and lower bounds of other models (such as a model employing channel inversion as the power control strategy) can be obtained. This method is proved to be correct by comparing our results with the existing ones, and simple in the calculation.","PeriodicalId":267128,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network & Multimedia Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129678071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the Traditional Classifications depend on certain header fields (take port numbers for instance). These port-based and payload-based approaches will be out of action when a lot of applications like P2P use dynamic port numbers. Masquerading techniques and payload encryption requires a high amount of resource of computing and is easily infeasible in the protocol that unknown or encrypted. This paper describes a different level in network traffic-analysis using an unsupervised machine learning technique. In this approach flows are automatically classified by exploiting the different statistics characteristics of flow. We implement and estimate the efficiency and feasibility of our approach using data at different location of Internet. Thus, the communication must be designed to conserve the limited energy resources of the nodes. In this paper, we propose a cluster-based multipath delivery scheme, called CMDS, which uses cluster and multipath to improve the capability of load balance, and thus prolonging the network lifetime. Firstly, CMDS organizes the nodes into clusters so that nodes communicate information only with clusterheads and clusterheads take the task of data aggregation. Then, clusterheads transmit information to base station (sink) along multiple paths. When clusterheads or intermediate nodes choose the next hop node for forwarding data, they will use some parameters, such as the residual energy and the number of hops to sink among the neighbors, that are helpful to distribute traffic among all nodes. Simulation results show that the CMDS has great potential in efficiently distributing energy consumption and extending the network lifetime.","PeriodicalId":267128,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network & Multimedia Technology","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132266779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this kind of protocols will make the same message cover most of the nodes in networks which causes a huge waste of network resources. Therefore, this paper proposes a new routing protocol named epidemic routing based on separation time with forwarding tokens constrained (EPI-T). EPI-T selects a route according to the idea of epidemic routing and history information, which can restrict flooding range and saves the network resources. Simulation results show that EPI-T improves delivery ratio and shortens the message delivery delay.","PeriodicalId":267128,"journal":{"name":"2009 2nd IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network & Multimedia Technology","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133728111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
