Many methods are available for this purpose with variety degrees of accuracy and usage complicity. This study is presenting a simple and a reliable method to assess the internal stability. The delimiting particle size of the granular soil is computed based on graphical method, and then the controlling constriction size, Dc35, of the primary soil skeleton is obtained based on an empirical equation and compared with the diameter of fine particles, d85. The soil is considered as internally stable if it has Dc35⁄d85 <0.75. The assessment of new method was compared with the most frequently used ones, as well as experimental tests, and its assessment was found to be fairly good.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"176 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131142903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The manufacturing of S.C.C., on the other hand, needs a large amount of aggregates. Light weighting of various installations is a critical requirement for reducing dead loads. Nevertheless, substituting the conventional coarse aggregate in S.C.C. with lightweight coarse aggregate (bonza aggregate) could result in lightweight construction concrete being produced. Fiber strengthened S.C.C. has a detrimental impact on the qualities of fresh concrete while having a beneficial impact on its mechanical characteristics. The influence of varying five proportions (0%,0.25%,0.5%,0.75%, 1%) polyolefin fibers on the time-dependent fresh features and mechanical behavior of lightweight self-compacting concrete (LWSCC) mixture was examined in this study. To evaluate the hardening features of the LWSCC mixture which strengthened with polyolefin fiber, several tests were conducted, including the dry bulk density test, water absorption and porosity test, penetration test, compressive resistance test, splitting tensile resistance test, flexural resistance test, modulus of elasticity test, ultrasonic pulse velocity test, and thermal conductivity test. The optimum ratio of polyolefin fibers is 0.25%, reducing the properties of fresh concrete and increasing its hardening properties. At the age of 28 days, it increases the compressive strength, split strength, flexural strength, and modulus of elasticity by 3%, 17%, 1%, 11, respectively.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126695613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method is validated by experimental results and compared with the numerical model, according to which the advantages and disadvantages are considered. The result shows that DMEM through a FE program can be applied for evaluating of in-plane behavior of the masonry infill wall with acceptable accuracy. According to the outcomes, the DMEM method has an appropriate accuracy to obtain the behavioral content of the studied specimens. The method could be considered as a replacement to FEA in complicated systems because of its simplicity in the calculating process.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127622905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For health applications, an optimization technique is used to optimize IoT-based network connectivity using wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and smart connected sensors. Continuous health monitoring is necessary to monitor and send the patients’ data continuously to the hospital’s information system which it is located at another location using an existing hospital’s wireless local area network. This study evaluates the influence of WLAN when it was added to WSN which it represented by IEEE802.25.4 ZigBee sensors and how the coexistence occurs because Wifi and ZigBee operated on the same channel. The study was performed using Riverbed Modeler Academic edition (v17.5) in number of modeled scenarios. The collected results showed that the coexistence of Wi-Fi degrade the ZigBee network performance in terms of throughput, delay, and data dropped in some applications such as: (File transfer, Web browsing and Database Access). The increasing number of PCs in Wifi-ZigBee network with a suitable choice of routing topology could improve the performance of the proposed network.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131924379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different MPPT strategies were used to achieve the maximum output power of the photovoltaic system. There are conventional MPPT algorithms. Also, there are soft computing techniques to attract the maximum PowerPoint. In this paper, the MPPT approaches for solar systems are reviewed and compared in-depth with six different requirements, the comparison shows that the Incremental Conductance has an advantage over the conventional methods. Soft computing methods give high efficiency, but the effectiveness of soft computing techniques needs users for a good background on how it works, it's more complex than conventional MPPT methods, the essential variations among these approaches are digital versus analogy applications, design simplicity, sensor requirements, convergence time, effectiveness range, and hardware pricing. As a consequence, choosing the right algorithm is crucial for users since it impacts the electrical efficiency of the photovoltaic (PV) module and lowers expenses by lowering the number of solar panels required to produce the necessary electricity.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121510038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an automated method with human maintenance and intervention and it is used for protecting the websites from automated attackers. There exist different types of CAPTCHA, ranging from difficult/easy to complex/simple ones. The problem with current CAPTCHAs is most of them use one single layout and simple user interface to distinguish the human from the attacker. This mechanism will help the attacker to easily bypass by using an appropriate bot program. In this paper, the main objective is to make a survey regarding the available security technique and evaluate the existing ones according to a set of characteristics for defending against attackers. Upon the evaluation result, a new user behavioral model has been proposed based on the user activity. In the proposed method the user behavior is scored according to the characteristics needed by their web applications. Finally, the model is implemented by building a web application and validated using an experimental setup and achieved a score of 70.26 for the usability of the model and the proposed method compared with other CAPTCHA tests and with the experimental evaluations, the proposed method is easier to solve and more user-friendly.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127238654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it becomes quite common to see a Management Information System (MIS) wherever the process of management is there, and it becomes important to design and develop an MIS for any management unit that is still processing their tasks classically. However, issues of the exam committee unit in the Faculty of Engineering (FENG) at Koya University (KoU) are still progressing without the concept of information system. This result has been obtained during a small survey that was conducted between 10th to 20th November 2021 inside the FENG among those academic staff who were nominated as members of the FENG exam committee. Therefore, authors of this work have proposed an online based information management system for facilitating the works of this committee. As a software development life cycle (SDLC), this work followed the waterfall methodology for designing and implementation. At end, a test has been conducted to check the system in three directions: achieving system requirements, style, and formatting for webpages, and dynamically of the system during updating data and records. According to the survey, the system has been agreed by the software testers.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126302404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rheological, hardened, and mechanical properties of concrete which have been partially replaced by 10%, 20% and 30% of CKD (SCC-CKD) were investigated. The results disclosed that partially replaced cement by CKD in the SCC (SCC-CKD) lowered its passing and filling ability marginally, while segregation resistance increased. The remaining mechanical and hardened characteristics of heated SCC Specimens were measured. Specimens were exposed to elevated temperature (2 hours) by an electric heating furnace to temperatures between 300 and 700 °C at the age of 28 days. After samples were cooled, tests on several aspects of compressive and indirect tensile strength and loss in weight were performed out. Moreover, ultrasonic pulse velocity was measured. The experiment findings reveal extreme strength and density loss due to concrete degradation for all SCC samples after being heated to 700 °C. At high replacement levels of CKD, there is more decrease in the remaining strength. Compared to the reference mix (SCC-R), the compressive strength of (SCC-CKD20%) mix at 700 °C decreased by 29 %. For all heating degrees, control mixture (SCC-R) samples exceeded replaced (SCC-CKD) samples in respect of residual characteristics. Throughout this context, current research aims to determine how elevated temperatures affect the mechanical strength and hardening properties of SCC made with CKD as a partial cement replacement.","PeriodicalId":265954,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Engineering Conference on Sustainable Technology and Development (IEC)","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126856215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
