SPSW can be more cost-effective compared to other lateral-force-resisting systems. In some structures, using a single lateral-force-resisting system would not be cost-effective. In these structures, damage control technologies with a high energy dissipation capacity can be used to reduce unexpected damages. The purpose of this study is to investigate the seismic behavior of a new lateral-force-resisting system, which is the combination of a Rubber-Steel Core Damper (R-SCD) and steel plate shear wall. The proposed damper is constituted with a layer of high damping rubber and some ductile bolts. This paper uses ABAQUS software to numerically examine the seismic performance of steel plate shear walls equipped with an R-SCD damper. The results showed that the proposed damper could perform as a fuse, protecting the main structural elements to be elastic and undamaged. The ultimate shear strength and energy absorption of the proposed system were reduced as the rubber thickness increased. One of the easy-to-implement applications is to locate objects and place them under surveillance, such as children, patients, or even valuable possessions. The idea is to exploit the possibility of routers that work with a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal for additional applications to perform tasks without an added cost. In this paper, a proposed model that included 3 Access Points (APs) and one target are installed in a case study room with a dimension of 8*8 m2 to localize and track the target within it. The 3 APs are installed in a chosen location to apply the Trilateration algorithm in order to, detect the location of such target. Also, the APs signal is used Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to compare which one is precise. The tools used for measuring the received signal (AirPort Utility) and (Bluetooth Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) Analyzer) for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth respectively. The results show that the average errors are 1.3 m and 1.7 m for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth respectively. From this result, we conclude that estimating coordinates inside the room using Wi-Fi technology is more accurate than using Bluetooth technology under the same conditions. Traffic volume data is very important to design, planning and analysis of traffic roadways system. PCU of different types of vehicles offer different degrees of interference to other traffic stream. It is necessary to bring all types of vehicles to a common unit. The common unit adopted for expressing the volume as PCU per hour. In this paper, the required data was collected at five main urban roads in Erbil City using a digital video recorder technique. The aim of the study is to work on the PCU for different types of vehicles under mixed traffic conditions. It has been observed from the present study that the PCU values of vehicles significantly change with change in traffic volume and width of roadway. Statistical analysis of the results show that a PCU value for buses was found to be 2.92. The PCU value for buses in Erbil was found to be similar to that obtained in Iraq but different from UK and same idea about other types of vehicles. Also, the capacity of highways increases with the use of shoulder areas and it has a positive effect on PCU values for type of vehicle increase with increases lane widths. PCU values for Motorcycles, Tricycles, Cars and buses/trucks have been evaluated. The average (PCU) value of the Three different methods were used to determine the PCU. Two new theorems are proved, which provide and prove the convergence of the method. Tables distributing the comparison of numerical results. For the criterion of the comparison, we compute the least square errors and the running time for the program. Finally, for proposing the technique two examples are solved for demonstrating the validity and applicability. The comparison make was made of results for different iterations.
