METHODOLOGY: Parental satisfaction was elicited from 25 parents with a 5-point likert type questionnaire. Problems experienced by the child and future treatment recommendations were also elicited with close ended questions during the followup visit after 12 months from the time of treatment. RESULTS: Overall parental satisfaction was 78% with stainless steel crowns and 96% with zirconia crowns. 8% of the parents reported bleeding around the gums in zirconia group. 60% of the parents in stainless steel crown group and 100% of zirconia crown group reported that they would opt for these crowns in future. CONCLUSION: Preformed zirconia crowns can be an option for posterior full coronal restoration when esthetics is of prime concern for the parent and child. Successful restoration can be achieved with the attachment retained cast partial denture. The use of semiprecision attachments enhances the retention and stability of the removable partial denture where fixed treatment is not possible in the posterior region. But in certain exceptional cases like spacing due to aggressive periodontitis, pathological migration and non-compliance of the patient to undergo comprehensive orthodontic procedure, the scenario demands deviation from the routine treatment approaches and to customise the treatment plan based on the patient’s needs. This paper reports two cases: midline diastema in mandibular anteriors due to pathological migration managed with acrylic pontic retained by fiber reinforced composite restoration. The second case discusses anterior crowding managed conservatively by a fixed partial denture and the natural tooth pontic retained by fiber reinforced composite splint. The initial outbreak of virus strain can result in flulike symptoms, including fever, swollen lymph nodes and body aches. If not found in initial stages, it may result in systemic disorders like diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases. The best solution to diagnose oral herpes is by analyzing Gingival Crevicular Fluid (GCF) through nested Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique. In periodontal disease pathogenesis, the inflammatory mediator levels present in gingival crevicular fluid represent relevant risk indicators for disease activity. Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF), a serum transudate or inflammatory exudate, can be collected from the gingival crevice surrounding the teeth. The fluid reflects the constituents of serum, the cellular response in the periodontium, and contributions from the gingival crevice. The amount of GCF is directly proportional to the severity of the inflammation. Now-a-days several methods for collection and estimation of GCF has been established. Hence, by analysing in this technique, the presence of HSV in the periodontium before the onset, at the time of periodontitis initiation, and periodically during its development can be diagnosed.
