The modifications made in this approach enable robust handling of multiple simultaneous sensor failures. The control law aims to compensate for sensor faults and allows the system states to track a reference corresponding to a fault free situation. The proposed FFTC strategy is based on the fault estimate and the error between the faulty system state and a reference system state. A Fuzzy Proportional Integral Observer (FPIO) design is proposed to estimate the state and sensor faults. Sufficient conditions are derived for robust stabilization in the sense of Lyapunov asymptotic stability and are formulated in the format of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). The gains of the FFTC and FPIO are obtained by solving these LMIs. The design schemes are developed under the realistic assumption that both bacterial growth rates and influent flow rates are time-varying and uncertain, but some lower and upper bounds of these uncertainties are known. The proposed control structures are achieved by combining a linearizing control law with an appropriately state asymptotic observer or an interval observer and with a parameter estimator used for on-line estimation of unknown kinetics. More focus is put on chemical reaction network theory and its inclusion in the formulation to achieve synchronization between concentration space and reaction space. It is made clear that Gibbs free energy is an apt Hamiltonian function for such cases. The same concept is applied on a basic enzyme reaction. Generally, academic robotic platforms either provide only basic motion features, or are too specialized. Our platform's goal is to be sufficiently versatile to be adapted easily to any task, but to provide performance in common scenarios. For this aim, our modular system is comprised of a Mecanum-wheel based omnidirectional motion system with a dense array of line sensors. The system comprises other sensors and actuators, which can be replaced or augmented with more specialized sensors and mechanical systems for each application. Such problems can be met in different industrial environments and be associated to numerous real-life applications. The studied criteria are related to the maximum lateness minimization. The paper is organized in two main parts. The first part focuses on some special cases (makespan minimization when tails are equal and maximum lateness minimization when release dates are equal (see Section 2). The second part is devoted to the maximum lateness minimization (see Section 3). A robust control strategy for numerical control systems are proposed. Finally, we found an optimal operating point, considering that the process has a nonlinear multivariable structure. A brief discussion regarding the structure and functionality of model-based technical diagnosis systems is provided within this context, and a summary of previously obtained results in the field of fault detection and fault identification using the Recursive Least Squares method with exponential weighting and constant forgetting factor is presented. A fault localization procedure is proposed based on these results and on the principles of the directional fault isolation approach. Also, an enhancement is made to the classical model-based fault isolation approach, consisting of using history data in order to increase the accuracy of the associated algorithm.
