The partial amplitudes and the splitting probabilities are calculated taking account of the photon dispersion. We show that the limit of the collinear kinematics which has been used in literature till now is inadequate in the strong magnetic field. We point out the necessity to take into account the large radiative corrections near the cyclotron resonances. We also calculate the probability of the reaction γ → e+ e− γ and show that it is negligibly small in comparison with photon splitting probability above the pair creation threshold. Our results should be used for quantitative studies of the photon splitting role in high-energy astrophysics.","PeriodicalId":264948,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in High Energy Physics","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121514707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Combine experimental data constrain lifetime of this particle in the window ∼ 10−1sec < TS < 150 sec. We show that SN 1987A completely excludes this range of vs lifetime. Nucleosynthesis bound permit a narrow window for the TS around 0.1 sec. If vs possesses an anomalous interaction with nucleons, the SN bounds may not apply, while the nucleosynthesis ones would remain valid.","PeriodicalId":264948,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in High Energy Physics","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123431175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transferred by neutrinos momentum asymmetry along the field direction is obtained. To improve the sensitivity of the search for the neutrino magnetic moment we suggest to use a polarized electron target in the processes of neutrino (antineutrino) - electron scattering. The ROSAT observations of several X-ray sources, which can be accreting old isolated neutron stars, are used to constrain the exponential and power-law decay parameters. We show that for the exponential decay the ranges of minimum value of magnetic moment, b, and the characteristic decay time, td, 10 29.5 b 10 28 Gc m 3 ,10 8 td 10 7 yrs are excluded assuming the standard initial magnetic moment, 0a10 30 Gc m 3 . For these parameters, neutron stars would never reach the stage of accretion from the interstellar medium even for a low space velocity of the stars and a high density of the ambient plasma. The range of excluded parameters increases for lower values of 0. We also show, that, contrary to exponential MFD, no significant restrictions can be made for the parameters of power-law decay from the statistics of isolated neutron star candidates in ROSAT observations. Isolated neutron stars with constant magnetic fields and initial values of them less than 010 29 Gc m 3 never come to the stage of accretion. We briefly discuss the fate of old magnetars with and without MFD, and describe parameters of old accreting magnetars.","PeriodicalId":264948,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in High Energy Physics","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2000-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124124634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
